    I used to have a '92 Crown Vic LX, it was, hands down, the BEST vehicle I ever owned. Great power and gas mileage, as well as being very comfortable!

    I LOVE how back in the day you could get the family sedan and tow trailers and small campers wherever you needed without buying an ugly truck to have sit in the driveway were people can scoff at it.

    I own one of these and it's still a good car. the clear coat paint has finally faded away and I need to replace two of the window regulators but other than that it's in good shape . I am thinking about getting a new coat of paint and regulators and keep it on the road.

    i drive a used k9 unit, 1997. no back seat window buttons, because it had a dog in the back. But it does have door handles in the back to allow the dog to exit the car on its own.

    With Ford's talk about the brakes on this car, it reminds me of Ed O'Neil's line in "Dutch."
    "You can't beat a Ford for good brakes."

    • @patrickmichael3384
      @patrickmichael3384 ปีที่แล้ว

      Except in that movie, he drove a Lincoln Town Car (still built by Ford, though not with a Ford badge).

    • @Watcher3223
      @Watcher3223 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@patrickmichael3384 That's correct, he was driving a Lincoln Town Car.
      But I was just quoting a line that was actually spoken in the movie.

    • @patrickmichael3384
      @patrickmichael3384 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Watcher3223 right. Weirdly though in 1994’s “Little Giants” with Rick Moranis, he owns a football themed Chevy dealer and drives a Corvette. But that’s the difference between Dutch and Kevin O’Shea (O’ Niell’s character) in Little Giants.

    I had a 97 (same body style ) and that car got 28 MPG on the hwy, everyone says the old 302 (I owned an 85 ltd cv and 91 MGM )was the best but i have to say the 4.6 was a far superior and modern engine. the only strength the 302 had was its low end torque but that aside it was a gas hog had the power of a brigs and straton mower 140-150 hp which is presisely why it was phased out. my 4cyl honda civic has nearly double that power.

    Got a -93 LX, the "express down window" was not the the reason I bought i though.....
    Anyway, it´s a very reliable vehicle that only let me down once. Why? I didn´t check the Volt meter. If I had done that, I would have fixed the alternator earlier!
    Got about 200K on it, and I guess it will get me were I want to go for at least a couple of years more....
    It has no hi tech stuff except for the very reliable fuel injection, so what can possibly go wrong........I Live in Sweden by the way....

      Sad. The cars that were built on the Panther platform have put away dozens of criminals (Ford Crown Victoria), transported dozens of celebrities (Lincoln Town Car), and faithfully served many senior citizens (Mercury Grand Marquis/ Mercury Marauder.) One TH-cam user commented on a tribute video to the Ford Panther platform that he has no intention of telling stories about his Ford Crown Victoria to his grandchildren; he wants to take them for a ride in it.

      Sure, that movie destroyed a lot of them, but there's plenty more where that came from.
      Ford churned these cars out like Oscar Meyer churned out hot dogs.
