Man I had a 1995 PGT, it had a factory flip paint job that was light blue and purple... The car was fun to drive and after I changed the wires to hi performance ones, the spark plugs to ngks, replaced the distributor, cleaned out my injectors, replaced the gas filter and also replaced my O2 sensor and took the packing out of the catalytic converter and repacked it loosely it freed up some extra horses... It was able to spin the wheels in all gears up to 4th... The car was a blast to drive and the fastest I've ever driven it on the highway was up to 140mph... Changing the alternator is a B... The harmonic balancer went out on me in 2004 and the car eventually threw a rod back in 2006 may she rest in peace... Having said that I would love to find another one to be a project car because it was just a fun car... Good luck on playing around with it if you decide to keep it...
You bought the most rare version of an already rare car! Manual transmission wild orchid edition! Only marketed one year and had matching purple floor mats. Congrats on a great find!
@Hello Road / Ethan Tufts i found the gear knob funny i stole one out of the same colour probe when i was a kid back in the 90s i put it on the escort we had in our drive the owner came back for it!
My escort of the same year was 600, and it's that same purple. Funny to know the name, I wonder if Knott's Berry farm could have sued FORD, They invented the boysenberry. I've put 20k on it, in a year and only needed breaks. I guess Ford used to be pretty good back in the day.
This was my first car - bought it when I graduated high school. Put in a whole new transmission and the upgraded KLZE engine. New paint, rims, exhaust, gauges - the works! One of the funnest cars I have ever owned. Thanks for taking me back. It might be time to buy a project car...
This really brought me back! Loved seeing the interior details again. When these were new, I recall the cupholder kind of sprung into position automatically, so you didn't have to manually drag it out like that. In the early 90s, one of the big magazines did a Long-Term Wrap-up after a year with the car, and they wrote "whoever designed this cupholder deserves to have a million cups of hot coffee spilled on them."
My current dream car! I'm 20 and soon i might be able to afford one in decent condition and i can't wait! I literally have dreams about owning one every couple weeks lmao
Honestly, coming from a New Yorker, that car has good bones. They all rotted out up here years ago. If that were mine, I'd pick away and fiddle fart around with the problems over a bit of time. In the end, you'll have a pretty enjoyable little car there.
There is one near me in long island that is pretty clean and appeared to have been turbo'ed. I am thinking about picking it up even though i don't need it.
That's actually a pretty nicely equipped car, great color, right engine and transmission and a few nice options. Those directional wheels fit it perfectly as well and despite the name, I think these 2nd gen Probes are great looking cars. A decent tune-up and clean should go a long way, parts should be cheap, too. Looking forward to the next vid!
I own four of these cars 2 are in mint condition my daily driver has 250,000 miles and still going strong. That smoke behind the firewall is most likely a valve cover gasket
I love it. I remember driving with a friend in college on one of this, and we enjoyed every single second of it. It was almost brand new and I tell you, it was a head turning vehicle. That sound out of the exhaust is not bad at all. I bet that with your plan of minor repairs, you could have lots of fun on canyon roads for sure. Keep us posted 👍
I think the design has held up well. The color is 90s awesomeness. Cooler mode of transportation than the silver, white? Gray & black blobby CUVs that folks drive today!
Had a red 89 GT, a teal 93 GT, and finally a 97 dark green GT (I may have had a problem). They were fun, reliable cars that got good fuel mileage, esp the 89. Now you've got me thinking about them.
I had a 97 GT, 91 GL, 97 base, and then an 89 GT. I prefer the 93-97, but the performance of that 89 GT was really something. Rust claimed all of them except for the 97 base, which I foolishly traded in.
As a kid, I thought these cars were so cool. Have to admit, that I still like the styling even now! Glad it never actually replaced the Mustang though.
So many memories watching this. I owned two Rio Red Probe GT’s, a ‘94 (my first car) and later a ‘93. They absolutely taught me to work on cars and to love the howl of a high revving V6. Looking forward to more of this series.
You do have some issues it seems. The 0-60 should be 7 seconds, quarter in 14 to 15. And most likely you have valve cover leaks. The KLDE is notorious for leaking from there especially if it is still on factory valve gaskets. Save this thing. While Probe GT's are typically a sub $1k vehicle running and driving. They are insanely fun to drive, and are faster than all Mustang GT's of the same era. There is a ton of knowledge on the Ford Probe/Mazda Facebook page. Many of us have owned their Probes since they were new.
@@chetkelsey1447 owned mine new since 93. As you know, especially if you were on PT, or PP, there are tons of "factory freaks." Thats why I put in a range. There were plenty that could run the quarter in under 15. My best, with a good driver in the quarter did a 14.9 prior to me moding it in the early 2000's. My best prior to mods was a 15.1. The KLDE seemed to have a ton of variables that gave a lot of people PGT's and MX6's faster than stock numbers.
I'm not the only die hard probe guy haha. My mom had a purple 94pgt learned how to drive in that in 1996 drove it for 4 years. She sold it in 2000 then I bought my 1996pgt. My best 1/4 time was 14.9 with 164whp DE with lots of bolt on.
@@chetkelsey1447 So long as it has the 5-speed. The auto specs are way, way more sluggish. Beyond that there are two main areas for failure. The clutch and, sadly, the electronics. A lot of people burned the clutch out of those, not ready for a car where casual cornering was often more comfortable in third than second. Also, the variable timing had issues sometimes and needed a reset. Remember, this is a guy who's looking for the cup-holders the first time he get's in so a slipping clutch might not be the first thing he notices.
The 2nd Gen pgt was kind of a peppy car...for its time. They actually handled the road pretty good. The smoke is most likely the rear valve cover gasket leaking on the exhaust. The clunk in the rear is probably the rear sway bar end links...notorious for breaking.
Just recently watched this video, i'm hooked on different stories about how people get some pretty old or nostalgic cars for super cheap. I grabbed a 95 mirage sedan for $200 running and driving perfectly, 91k miles. Lots of cosmetic issues that are getting fixed, no mechanical issues, and one little electrical gremlin that was caused by the aftermarket security system. Gonna try to take good care of it and put a 4g63 turbo, as well as give it the Evo 1/2/3 body upgrade :D because that's what it was in japan, chassis and all.
a couple of friends had probe and mx6s back in the 90s and after , they were nice and fun little cruisers , decent performers for their time as well . their midrange power made them good for around the town driving they did pretty well even at -50f
Beautiful 90s car. I bought a 95 GT almost 3 years ago for $1,650 and to date have redone almost 80% of the car engine-wise and totally redone steering/suspension/interior. Parts are very hard to find for major issues but the car sounds and drives beautifully. All it now needs is a paint job and window tinting and the car will be back to its prime time condition. Good job on the deal and thanks for making the video. These cars are nonexistent on the roads so it's cool to see another one exists out there.
I had a 93 GT in 95. Traded it in on a new Ranger in 99. Loved that car!!! Always dreamed of finding another one day. The check engine light was always the Oxygen Sensor on mine. Good luck with it!! May it treat you well!!
Back in 94 my buddy bought one of these new. The rest of use were pretty much driving fox body Mustangs and other rear wheel drive cars...so the fwd Probe was different. I was immediately impressed with how much better it drove then our old-tech cars. Sure, it was outclassed in acceleration but more then made up for it in overall competence. I ended up buying a brand new Probe GT in Dark blue with grey leather. Absolutely LOVED that car! That 2.5l V6 is the sweetest revving little motor. Get yours running correctly and I think you will love it too.
Pretty good video, for reviewing a used car. I especially like the little bits of music dropped in, like the 90's music at 1:09. I think you're right, the late 90's was a golden era of simple lines, and improvements on tried-and-true technology.
I had a 1993 PGT in Rio Red exterior with 5sp! Kept it for 4 years and replaced it in 2000 with a nearly new 1999 Honda Civic Si in EBP! Loved the PGT!! Hotshot headers, intake, KYB struts, Eibach springs, etc. Built up an ICE system for 1997/8 Spring Break Nationals Sound Competition in Daytona Beach. The V6 was smooth all the way up to 7000rpm, the shift linkage (short shifter installed as well) was a little notchy, but positive. Upgraded to an Exedy organic clutch. Ran Goodyear Gatorbacks to the cords then kept Dunlop DM40 directional tires till I sold it in 2000. Maybe one day, I'll either buy a 2nd gen, or get the 1st gen with the turbo engine. My Dad actually had an 89 GL model, which was a decent "sports coupe". Cork Sport used to cater to the Probe community; unfortunately no longer.
last time I saw a Probe GT was when I JUST looked out my front window into the driveway :) the Check engine light if probably the EGR, the steering wheel is the BEST of ANY car I have ever driven in my 53 years, and the ABS sensor prob just needs to be cleaned! the Chrome Swirlies are AWESOME! and did you know that the 3rd Generation Probe became the 1998 Cougar!
I loved the Ford Probe when I was younger...hell, I still love it now. I used to rent a white one from Budget rent a car all of the time. May have to try to find one now and buy it
Very original channel. Buying cheap cars, and reviewing them. I truly dont think anyone on youtube has thought/done this concept before....bravo for originality and creativity, you get a 10/10!
Had a 96 probe GT from 2004 to 2008. This video brought back memories. Was very fun to remember. Handled great! Nice noises from the V6 as well. Could fit lots of stuff in the hatch.
My 07 Ion (manual trans) was making an identical clunk during direction changes. Ended up being the sway-bar bushings. They were so wore that there was a gap allowing the sway bar to "pop" up and slam against the top of the bushing. (I Realize mine is a GM and this is a Ford) I'm doing something similar with my Ion. It's just such a fun car to drive. There's something about these late 90's early 00's 5-speeds that make them a blast for a low-budget daily driver builds. They kind of "stay out of your way" by not flooding you with needless features. Everything you need is there when you need it, and out of your way when you don't.
Nice vid and great memories of my wife's first new car in 1993! I specifically recall just how liquid smooth the clutch and shifter felt. Shear heaven! The visability was outstanding and the engine was really spirited, at least for the times. The handling was strong and I liked the sound from the factory exhaust too. However, the problems with the car were constant. The rear brake calipers needed to be replaced every 6 months, the spark plug tubes would fill with oil destroying the plug wires and it ate oxygen sensors annually. Too much effort overall to keep the car beyond 7 years.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vid! Yep, I'm not expecting this car to be easy on me. Have a lot of stuff to sort out already! I'll keep an eye on the spark plug tubes and brake calipers!! :)
My mother had a blue first gen Probe and when they introduced this generation I was in love with it! It was - and still is - beautiful and striking. Sadly she replaced her Probe with a Mercury Villager... It was quite the disappointment.
I've had 3 ford probes in my younger years. I had a 92 Ford Probe, 94 Ford Probe and a 97 Ford Probe GT. I have always loved the probe . They will forever hold a special place in my heart! The 94 I had I had dropped on Eibach springs, addes 18's on spoke wheels, a big Wang... All the rage at the time in the early 2000's, headers, exhaust... again all the rage in the early 2000's to have loud fart cannons on your 4 banger, lol, repainted it Ferrari red, and finally an AEI I believe CAI, then one night got drunk at a party decided it would be fun to find a curvy road near my house and drive to fast and totaled it...I have missed that car ever since. I say, fix it and add some cheap power upgrades and new wheels and tires and enjoy the hell out of it. Rattle can it or wrap it in a nice vinyl.
When I was a kid my friend's neighbor had one exactly like this and it infected my brain lol. Purple cars are the best cars, I loved the directional wheels and pop-ups, and I love that screaming Mazda KL V6. One of these is probably Mt. Radmore territory for me, personally.
Hi bro, you got me as a subscriber as soon as you bought the probe! Fellow owner here, ive had my 94gt since new and can throw some light on the issues you are having....1st off, that oil smell and smoke under the hood after a drive is oil leaking from the valve covers, both front and rear..the rear cover will drip on the exhaust manifold and pipe and you will smell oil burning and see smoke at times.. the front one will drip on the damn alternator and shorten its life.. easy fix that May work for you is to GENTLY and carefully tighten the valve cover bolts just a hint more...that usually stops the leak in the front cover but the rear bolts are Under the intake manifold and cant be reached to tighten... so you gotta pull the intake ,in which case you may as well replace Both valve cover gaskets while ur at it...You may also notice the plugs are soaked in oil...thats the valve cover gaskets letting oil into the sparkplug wells.. You have obd2 which should help a Ton in fixing ur issues! Mine is obd1 and doesnt help much at all, its so damn simplistic in what it diagnoses...You probably have bad VRIS solenoids, they open the secondaries in the intake to make the engine have both torque and high rpm power..if they are out, you will loose Both lowend and topend.. the clunk Could be tierods either inner or outer..It can also be the pinch bolt is loose on the bottom of the front struts becauz mine was not that tight and i had the Same clunk when turning corners...easy fix that costs Nothing...Plug an obd2 code reader into that thing and let me know what you see for codes, i"ll be glad to help... mine is Not fast either but sounds nice... i have no codes and everything is stock...mine might be 8sec to 60 as well, I dont want to do a hard launch to get a good time becuz my clutch is original and im trying to make it last...208,000mi on mine... the other areas that go are the O2 sensors and the cats can follow.... im subbed and i;m looking forward to see the followup on ur car...I wish mine was obd2! good luck and bro, you got a killer deal at 300! i;d never sell mine for that!
There is no chance you could find a 97 gt in running condition around here for anywhere near that price, they are still highly sought after and getting harder to find. A bare shell runs about 2500 with no engine or trans
I had a blue 1997 Probe GT from 2002 to 2004. I took it to Germany when I was stationed there and blew it up on the Autobahn. About a week after I had it scrapped, a friend of mine told me he could have gotten me a newer Mustang 6 cylinder engine for it. Dammit. I really liked that car and thanks to you, I'm looking for another one.
I´ve got a 4cylinder Probe and I had a V6 too years ago. The 4 cylinder has less power but still enough to feel like you are driving the coolest car on earth. Also the 4 cylinder is easier to maintain. Still around 1000 registered and running in Germany. Only 20.000 sold from 93 to 98.
I've always wanted to own that car. When I finish my current project car, It will be a hard choice what to buy next, Japan car, Old car, or maybe get a Probe GT. So many nice cars and so little time to get and repair them all. 😅 It's hard to believe that Ford replaced this model with ZX2 and Cougar.
Back in the early 90s as a kid our neighbors that lived across the Street had two grown daughters. One drove a red Mitsubishi Eclipse and the other drove a Light blue Ford Probe with a 90s colorful accent on the door panels. I always liked the shape of the Probe back then.
Hi, I live in France and I just bought a ford probe with only 82,000 km. This car is superb, very comfortable, pleasant to drive in a word: I love it. Mine is purple, unfortunately, it's not a GT !
My second car was a '96 Ford Probe GT in green that I purchased new from the dealership. It had the 5 speed manual in it. I loved this car. It had all of the options that most cars had at the time. The crazy thing was that it did not have cruise control. My buddy had a similar year SE probe that had cruise. It seemed like a fairly quick car and would easily do 80 mph in third gear without red lining. It's crazy that the '89 was going to replace the Foxbody Mustang, but you are exactly right. I actually had a couple of guys ask me if it was a Mustang. That emerald green paint job kind of disguised some of the curves etc on the Probe. The 2nd and final Gen like mine didn't have a turbo. The 1st gen had a 4 cylinder and 4 cylinder turbo. Another friend had the turbo version and "almost" beat a 5.0 with it. Too bad the GT didn't come with a turbo or supercharged version. Shortly after I bought mine I called the dealership, and they said they could add a supercharger believe it or not, but it was gonna be like $6000. I decided against it. LOL. You used to see these all over the place, but I haven't seen one in several months. I sold mine in 2002 or 2003. Never had any major problems other than some electrical probably due to the competition stereo that I had in it at the time. I sold it to a close friend for $2500, and he said that all he wanted was for it to get him through college. It did just that. It was starting to have a lot of problems under his ownership, but also he never would change the oil in it. It all but died, and he dumped it off to some younger guy that was wanting to fix it back up and mod it. It's probably in a junkyard somewhere now. Sad day!
Got my license in 94 my first car was dark blue 1990 probe LX 5 speed with a 3.0L v6 this car would scream! Loved it, blew away crown vics and mustangs.
Awhile back, I bought a 2nd gen Probe GT with a bad auto transmission. The idea was to replace the trans and flip the car. It turned out to be a pretty quick car with good handling. The automatics had a cooling issue which required an external cooler. After that, they were still weak. I heard the manuals are way better. I’d kind like to get one after watching this video.
Man, I had a '93 Probe GT (first year of gen 2) my senior year in high school. Class of '00. I loved it!!!! Mine was set up just like yours but in black and had a tape deck. But!!!! I couldn't keep a rear head gasket in the thing. And, it was a pain working up against the firewall. As much as a pain as it was I wish I still had it! Great find. I think '97 rear tail lights look the best and make it the best looking of the gen 2. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
I had a ‘93 PGT. Reliable and fun to drive! Got close to 30mpg on 93 octane. Had to get rid of it for a common reason: too hard to get new parts with age, which were expensive.
That color is called Boysenberry Blue. bought it when I was stationed in Germany! nice car and you can add just a little power with intake and exhaust or like a friend of mine add twin turbos for about 400 HP.
When I was 17 and looking for a car my color blind dad took me to look at a sports car that had a “really cool red I’ve never seen before”. We get there and before even getting out of the car I go “Dad, it’s a Probe and it’s sky blue. Keep driving....” 😂
I was just given this exact car for free! Original owner and low mileage too! Only downside, it has an issue with the ignition? Owner says he’s replaced the distributor 3 times but he kept it garage kept all these years.
I loved my probe. Had one for 17+ years. Blew it up at 228k miles. (sort of purposely) to put another motor in it and gave it to my oldest nephew. I'd get another one for sure. Especially for 300 bucks. Pretty easy to work on. Park it right beside my 91 MR2
Great video! Fords always have weird shenanigans but overall great bargain and good-looking car. Nice to see these old cars refreshed and brought back to life.
soooooo awesome!!!! and its a 5 speed! in purple and its a gt! you hit the motherload! very few of those still exist in that shape. I would restore it and do a few tasteful mods!
GIVE IT SOME LOVE! Please!! These old gems don’t get enough love! I’m enjoying my 94 GT every single day with 205,000 miles and counting on the original engine and despite all of the problems I still have to fix, I know eventually it’ll get to that point that I just won’t ever want to get rid of it and you can get their too. Thanks for not focusing on the horrible choice of name and only that😂
In 1993, I was in junior high, and I thought that the Ford Probe GT was a fantastic looking car. The exterior had great stylistic "tension." I really liked the way the back hatch supports were black, and sloped concavely into the short rear deck. The interior was interestingly swoopy while being entirely functional. It came with a small 2.5 V6 (I believe), which critics said gave the car a civility that its competitors lacked, while still being economical to run. It seemed like a great little sporty car for a price within reach of the average person. I still want a Ford Probe, preferably not purple though.
I love the sight of these on the road. So had to have one. There were 3 year models released in Australia (ST,SU,SV). I had the ST 95 with no rear wing, burgundy taillight surrounds and straight mottled silver rims. I do agree the rims on the ST looked better than those on the SV (97). The engine head gasket has failed in it (oil on the sparks) and now its sitting idly in the driveway. Too sad to send it to the wreckers, the exterior is in very good condition. Not sure if the SV is the same, you could hook the "TEN" pin to ground in the diagnostic connector, turn the car to on and the the CEL would flash out the code numbers of the errors. Tthe most common codes I saw were failed O2 sensors and failed EGR valve position sensor.
I had a 93' GT. Loved the sound of the engine. The spark plug wires are very expensive. Actually, being a Mazda, ALL parts are very expensive on this car.
I LOVED the look of the second gen Probe GT. The new 0-60 on those was closer to 7 sec. Get a tune up. I actually liked the look of those steering wheels. It was a far cry from the boring squares we got in everything else for the first ten years of airbags. Anyway, great find! Those were sweet cars (as were MX-6s) whose only fault were buyer's waning desire for sporty coupes.
That car still looks awesome today, whether it runs or not. I think you did well and it was definitely nostalgic for me. I used to have a stick 1989 Nissan 240 SX and a 1991 Celica GT back in the 90s. Truly miss those type of cars, I definitely hope that car works for you with minimal expenditures and troubleshooting.
I bought my 95 PGT new in mid-95. Still registered and insured and hitting the streets of SoCal occasionally although mine did sit unused for almost 10 years. They can be a bit finicky when it comes to maintenance issues and obviously the aftermarket support is essentially nonexistent. Any maintenance I do nowaways is to reverse mods done in my younger years, such as a much regretted underdrive pulley. The Probetalk forum was the best source of info until recently although it still exists as a facebook group. If you have any questions about these cars (I previously owned 2 first gen GTs) feel free to ping me.
Excellent video, thanks! I'm surprised you haven't got more subscribers as you have a natural style and the quality of your videos is superb. Will share to my car friends. Please keep us updated on the Probe (I have a 95 GT in Rio Red).
I bought my 95 probe se for $200 at 95,xxx miles, and I've owned it for over 3 years, and just this past year have I EVER had to do any work to it other than routine maintenance. Still under $2000 on the car and over 30,000 miles later, she's still running strong with 25+ mpg
I used to own a 94 GT about 10 years ago. I really liked that car and it was pretty fun to drive. Problem was parts were hard to find even back then. Also keep a few extra VRIS solenoids around.
Man i had one of these in the same colour in High School here in Australia in the late 90's. I'd lowered it, put 18 inch BBS's on it with a cannon exhaust and huge sound system. GREAT car, would love another one but they are hard to find here as they didnt sell many in the first place

#Hello Road / Ethan Tufts me too. waiting for next video
I absolutely love these cars!! Glad you are saving it!!
@@green97probe if that 89 had the 4cl turbo, it was a torquey beast.. drove that engine b4..it would shred front tires like banana peels
I LOVE THE FORD PROBE! ESPECIALLY THE 2ND GENERATION! 😍
Stock specs are 7.5 0-60, 15.3-15.8 1/4 mile. I own a probe and have for 20 years
@@chetkelsey1447 owned mine new since 93.
@@chetkelsey1447 94 gt owner here for last 26yrs since new.. ur info is spot on.
Agreed, but the endlinks are only $20-30. You can use the ones from a 95 Altima, they're better made.
Moog makes links for the front & back sway bars
Just recently watched this video, i'm hooked on different stories about how people get some pretty old or nostalgic cars for super cheap. I grabbed a 95 mirage sedan for $200 running and driving perfectly, 91k miles. Lots of cosmetic issues that are getting fixed, no mechanical issues, and one little electrical gremlin that was caused by the aftermarket security system.
Gonna try to take good care of it and put a 4g63 turbo, as well as give it the Evo 1/2/3 body upgrade :D because that's what it was in japan, chassis and all.
Excellent purchase! Love every single detail of this gem.
Thanks!! :) :)
I still say the exterior design looks fairly modern after all these years. And of course bonus points for the flip up headlights!
a couple of friends had probe and mx6s back in the 90s and after , they were nice and fun little cruisers , decent performers for their time as well . their midrange power made them good for around the town driving
they did pretty well even at -50f
13:00 the valve cover is leaking onto the exhaust manifold. It happened to mine. Changing that rear VCG is a PITA.
These cars are nonexistent on the roads so it's cool to see another one exists out there.
mines on the road almost every day..bought new in 94 and still own it
Ethan- "I have too many cars!"
Also Ethan- "I just got a $300 purple Ford Probe!!"
Me- "Ethan you diabolical..." 🤣
So happy you did this video!! I've been looking at a 97 probe, same color but stripe down the middle. Not much info online,so thank you!
I'm still looking for a 95 Probe GT
Upgraded to bigger brakes .....no e brake cable don't reach..... need e brake.... help
Cork Sport used to cater to the Probe community; unfortunately no longer.
last time I saw a Probe GT was when I JUST looked out my front window into the driveway :)
the Check engine light if probably the EGR, the steering wheel is the BEST of ANY car I have ever driven in my 53 years, and the ABS sensor prob just needs to be cleaned!
the Chrome Swirlies are AWESOME!
and did you know that the 3rd Generation Probe became the 1998 Cougar!
Please more videos about the Probe :)
LOVE IT!!!! PERFECT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DECADE!!!
(I Realize mine is a GM and this is a Ford)
I'm doing something similar with my Ion.
First model years of cars always have issues best to wait till later models
One of the best cars every made, one of the favorites I ever had.
i drive my lila probe since 2004 every day this car is non stop running..💪💪💪👍
I like your channel, you're easy to listen to, not pretentious and it appears that you truly enjoy yourself...keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching and thanks so much for the kind words! Really appreciate it.
I used to work at the factory were they built these lol 😂
Very cool!
I loved how the dashboard would follow the steering wheel tilt!
It was a good fun car.
Oh nice!!!
Thats a 97 model you have
Do they still have some out back they forgot about?
I have one and she runs like a Beauty!! Total head turner because not many people have seen them!! Great color btw!
There is no chance you could find a 97 gt in running condition around here for anywhere near that price, they are still highly sought after and getting harder to find. A bare shell runs about 2500 with no engine or trans
I still have my 88 Mazda MX-6 GT Turbo. I love that car.
Love the theme of "forgotten" cars. I have a soft spot for cars deemed failures & or the unappreciated or underappreciated. Nice content!
For those of us in our mid to late teens in the late 90s/early 00s, this was on everyone's wishlist of cool cars to have. This, and an Eclipse.
I loved my Gen II Probe GT. I've had numerous makes and models since, including m-series BMWs and a Tesla, and I still miss my Probe. It was special!
Brings back memories. Had a 95 GT with the exact same sweet delicious color!
I learned to drive stick when I had my Ford Probe GT. Still a good looking car.
I had a 95 Black 5 speed with the chrome plated rims, people loved that car and I had a blast driving it for 3 years.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
personally i like mine base model rear ass, I have 1995 base model USA import in Croatia
I had a 94 gt in royal blue
I had a ‘93 PGT. Reliable and fun to drive! Got close to 30mpg on 93 octane. Had to get rid of it for a common reason: too hard to get new parts with age, which were expensive.
That color is called Boysenberry Blue. bought it when I was stationed in Germany! nice car and you can add just a little power with intake and exhaust or like a friend of mine add twin turbos for about 400 HP.
the purple is mesmerizing, i love this thing
The color is soooo good
My 4'6 293 pound ex Gf who always wore purple brassiere and knickers would be a treat for you
One of the few cars sold in US and UK without much changes. I like them, nearly bought a blue one.
My car at that time was a pretty much time expired RX7. This looks similar to that car. No wonder, it's half a Mazda.
Just got a 1993 probe in sea foam blue. I was questioning it at first but now it’s honestly one of my favorite cars at the moment.
When I was 17 and looking for a car my color blind dad took me to look at a sports car that had a “really cool red I’ve never seen before”. We get there and before even getting out of the car I go “Dad, it’s a Probe and it’s sky blue. Keep driving....” 😂
I had a new ‘93 GT. I tracked that car in HPDE for 6 years. It was reliable and in The end after 150,000 miles it served me well.
At 1.06 Ethan says "this car totally screams 90's to you" then you hear 1980's background music LOL 😁
I loved my 1994 ford probe! I sold it back in 2016 it only had about 100k miles! 5 speed!!
Love the sound of these things tho
Great video! Fords always have weird shenanigans but overall great bargain and good-looking car. Nice to see these old cars refreshed and brought back to life.
Owned an arrest me red '94 Probe GT 5 speed stick--great car--trouble free thru 70,000 miles til I sold it. Handled great and fairly quick. Fun car.
soooooo awesome!!!! and its a 5 speed! in purple and its a gt! you hit the motherload! very few of those still exist in that shape. I would restore it and do a few tasteful mods!
I'm digging this car so far! This is actually the first Probe I've seen in years. Just happened to find one in this super rad color!!
This was my first car 13 years ago. Loved that thing
I’m probably the only one, but I love these especially the V6 Manual
I had that same boysenberry blue Probe back in 2000 during my junior year in high school...pure nostalgia
This car was awesome back in the day. My mom had a red 95 GT. I loved it so much.
Excellent video, thanks! I'm surprised you haven't got more subscribers as you have a natural style and the quality of your videos is superb. Will share to my car friends. Please keep us updated on the Probe (I have a 95 GT in Rio Red).
Looks cool. Love the purple and love the wheels. Too bad the purple is really faded. I'd rock it.
I had a first gen and love these too. Off to see if you have anymore videos on this car
Man i had one of these in the same colour in High School here in Australia in the late 90's. I'd lowered it, put 18 inch BBS's on it with a cannon exhaust and huge sound system.
GREAT car, would love another one but they are hard to find here as they didnt sell many in the first place
I live in Brisbane and own a probe in great condition for $1000
@@cameronrogers45 Oooohhh now you're talkin!
You put 18"?? Then what was tire size? I mean how wide they are and hight?
