      Why shouldn't there be harsh sentencing? Why do you BLM people think blacks should have a free ticket to do any crime they want? Why should you get special treatment?

    • @Vylsith
      @Vylsith 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Charles “Mister” Loudermilk II It's amazing how people who didn't grow up during the 90s love to talk about it incessantly like they can somehow understand it. Just look at a chart of homicide rate sometime and see that spike in the 90s. Then you'll see it decline considerably. Yep. It did something whether you like it or not. And Bill Clinton obviously isn't forcing police officers to arrest African Americans more often than they should comparatively or forcing judges to give harsher sentences to African Americans either. The Crime Bill isn't at fault for that. Our justice system is.

    • @Vylsith
      @Vylsith 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Anonny Moose The problem is that African Americans receive harsher sentences on average than other races even if they're first time offenders. That's a very real problem and it needs to change. As for the Crime Bill, most of the people who are making a big deal about it are too young to know what happened during the 90s and the ridiculously high violent crime rate due to gang violence. I remember being told not to wear blue or red in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL to avoid gang association. Yes, it was that bad. But history has a way of only remembering how things still affect us rather than why they were implemented in the first place. The Crime Bill helped when it needed to. It needs to be changed obviously now, but Bill Clinton can't be held accountable for the Crime Bill having unforeseen consequences 20 years later or the problem with prejudice in our justice system. He has nothing to do with any of that. People are being 100% disingenuous.

    • @MrMilk76
      @MrMilk76 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No disagreeing with any of that.... They beefed up the police force then added new laws to send people to jail. The 1994 crime bill had some very good measures.... None of which remain today....none except the one sending people to jail.... And they still have war machines to police the streets. This bill was also voted into place on when science suggest crime was coming down but public opinion had it at an all time high.
      Maybe some of you should read the bill instead of suggesting that people don't want justice.

  • @montychambliss6254
    @montychambliss6254 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    And who's lives were hurt that mattered? Who were forced into gangs to help their families survive? Instead of looking at why people become gang members and endure in this violence, you decided to create mass incarceration that continued for three different administrations
