You don't change things by investing money as President - you put forward legislation and she put up several goals of what legislative actions she would like to see put forward.

Sanders voted for it because he didn't want to go against the bill which was called the violence against women's act which was included in the crime bill. He spoke against it during the time but said he supported it because he wanted 1.8 billion to allocated to tackle domestic abuse and rape. Hillary Clinton and bill clinton defended their crime bill for at least 2 decades. He also spoke against the 91 crime bill so when she says Sanders also voted for it there is huge context missing.

well she’s right. almost all the presidential candidates who were a part of congress in 94’ voted yes and with good reason. in a void, the bill should solve everything. now, we see that it opened opportunities for abuse of power by law enforcement as well as posing a large threat to the black community due to the fact that the majority of impoverished communities are african american because of the jim crow laws.
Bernie voted for it because it had the Violence Against Women Act. She said black youth must be brought to heel. Bernie highly criticized the bill. She toured phrasing it. Big difference Hillary.

I absolutely abhor the concept of banning the Box in its entirety! although it has good intentions as a felon I would never check a box admitting that I am a convicted felon. I would much rather see expungement on criminal records. this notion of banning a box which would have absolutely no affect on this problem in my opinion and personal experience. why should I still have to suffer after over 10 years from a crime I committed when I was 17 years old at an age when we are not even allowed to vote.
Because the politicians know there isn't enough good paying work to go around for everybody. So the solution becomes to just incarcerate them. Not to mention the prison system is a big time money maker if you've got the right connections to the right politicians.
