I guess all I can add is I've used AMSOIL form the mid 1980's in 4 different cars and liked it. @seangowan7441 - Using non-AMSOIL oil filters with extended drain service AMSOIL synthetic motor oils, AMSOIL inc. recommends up to 12,000 mile or one year, (whichever comes first), oil filter change intervals. But if I may, if there was ever a warranty related issue, it opens a Pandor's box of was it the oil or the filter that failed? For complete warranty protection and a matched combination of industry leading products, I recommend using the AMSOIL Oil Filter with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils. With the 2014 BMM x3 with the 3.0 liter 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, (the car in this video), BMW requires a 0W-30 oil meeting the BMW LL-01FE European oil specification. This is an oil specification for the needs of a European car, which are different than for U.S. cars. Selecting a 0W-30 viscosity is only a part of the picture. The AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 is a great oil, but it does not meet the BMW LL-01FE oil standard and is not intended to. It's not the correct oil for your BMW. Using an oil that does not meet the oil specifications stipulated by the vehicle manufacturer, (in this case BMW), can cause engine and/or emissions equipment damage and that can be expensive to repair, especially with a BMW. European motor oil standards are entirely different than U.S. motor oil standards. Per the AMSOIL Product Application Guide, the correct AMSOIL synthetic motor oil for this car is the AMSOIL SAE 0W-30 MS Synthetic European Motor Oil, product code; EOT. It meets or exceeds the BMW LL-01FE oil specification. If I may be of further assistance, just let me know. :) - 30 year Independent AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants Dealer. @VISTORAGE - AMSOIL pioneered the synthetic oil industry for cars and trucks way back in 1972 with the world first 100% synthetic API qualified motor oil. That oil led the industry with up to a 25,000 mile or one year recommended drain interval. Years later, in 1974, Mobile came out with their version of a synthetic, (trying to copy AMSOIL's pioneering lead), and also tried to imitate AMSOIL's up to 25,000 mile/one year recommended drain interval. If the name brand of oil is so important, why were there hundred of thousands of Toyotas and Hondas in the 1980s and 90s that went 350k miles, or more, on conventional oil? Go to Wally World, get a synth oil and good filter with good OCI.
Because they are simple engines. These newer engines use GDI, Turbos, and many other technologies that require a higher quality oil that can withstand the stress that the engine puts on the oil.
Studies by Blackstone have shown the brand of oil isn't important. Using oil with the required specifications from the car manufacturer and respecting the required intervals is what did make a difference.

@Feral Man do not need w/AMSOIL... also they do NOT want u 2 add anything 2 their fluids, changes the chemistry... not needed w/AMSOIL products, it is made 2 keep inside CLEAN... my livery driving boss had an '09 prius w/350,000 miles on it... head gasket went bad... wen guy took apart, he could not believe how clean it was... i get 2 miles added wen i use AMSOIL... MORE mpg doing all fluids...
Update?
If the name brand of oil is so important, why were there hundred of thousands of Toyotas and Hondas in the 1980s and 90s that went 350k miles, or more, on conventional oil? Go to Wally World, get a synth oil and good filter with good OCI.
We are talking about performance cars, not Hondas.
Huge difference in engines from that era to now. Even the fuels have changed some.
Sorry, but the oil you put on your car isn't the specs you have to. Amsoil SS 0w30 is HTHS3.5 The amsoil you've must use is the European cars fórmula
I Use amsoil SS 5w30 in my wife's Ford Focus, and the Redline HP 5w30 on my Audi A6. Here, in Spain (Europe) it's no easy, and quite expensive to buy these American oils, but, they are the Best.
@@hugorof78 - Oils passing U.S. motor oil specifications and oils passing European motor oil specifications are entirely different. Using an oil that does not meet the oil specifications stipulated by the vehicle manufacturer can cause expensive engine and/or emissions equipment damage.
damn oil in USA is so cheap compared to where i live. Full synthetic Mobil 1 costs 18$ per quart in here, and dont ask about amsoil signature series that would be 25$ per quart 😫😫
Wow!
$23 here in new zealand
@jaiveroargubi - If someone or some store in the U.S. is trying to charge that much for AMSOIL Signature Series synthetic motor oil, in my opinion that is way, way too much. The AMSOIL Signature Series has a retail price of $15.49 per quart and the Preferred Customer price is only $11.89 per quart. Volume discounts can also apply saving even more money. I hope this helps you out. - 30 year Independent AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants Dealer.
For turbos engine i use 5w 50 Amsoil and i Chance every 10000 khm , i have the b58 440i with 600+ hp and with Supe 0w20 or 0w30 your engine go to Blog dude
5w50 is a little to thick for the b58 I would run redline 10w40 or amsoil amo 10w40 high zinc for 600+hp .
English bro... Supra you have? I switching from 0-20w to 5-40w aimsoil European synthetic in my 21 supra. Stage 2 e55
Use AMSOIL European Formula 5W-40 FS. That’s the oil that’ll make your b58 very happy as it’s not thick like 5-50 and it provides added protection from the high boost and tune.
You should test AMSOIL Signature Series against the Mobil 1 Annual performance, it's the only Mobil 1 that "Might" be able to compete! And the Mobil 1 extended performance should be compared to and "Might" be able to compete with the Amsoil XL! ha ha
I explained why I used what i did in the video. And based on my last testing the Mobil 1 I used is quite capable of keep up with Amsoil. In fact it out preformed Amsoil from the testing I’ve done so far.
AMSOIL OE outperformed Mobil 1 Long Life; AMSOIL Signature Series has 4X more wear protection than AMSOIL OE - don't believe there's any reason to test the best against Mobil 1.
@@TenzaMotorsports m1 is not 100% synthetic, as AMSOIL is & always has bin... altho m1 extended mite be, all the rest r simply over processed real oil... almost lost a vette engine using m1... not good... fyi, i use & sell AMSOIL... i could tell difference driving 1 block f/my mechanic shop...
I notice you are using the 0W30, if you car requires OW good, but if it's 5W30, you should have use the 5W. Reason is the Noack volatility. But, Amsoil FTW. th-cam.com/video/CRzKXI1XTSI/w-d-xo.html
I used the weight bmw recommends
If he lives in a colder temperature area, he SHOULD be using a 0w30 for maximum engine protection at cold start.
It’s your prerogative. Your car your money.
Amsoil, the preferred oil by used car salesmen who believe in Ponzi schemes. It’s a high quality oil no doubt, but the distributors are the biggest used car salesmen ever!
I’ve heard that argument a lot
AMSOIL is not a ponzi scheme. That's illegal. AMSOIL uses network marketing, which is endorsed by the Federal Trade Commission. Network marketing is used by many successful companies. Making false claims that damage a company is libel and that is against the law. Attorney's fee's can run into many thousands of dollars.
@@TenzaMotorsports - Yes, by people that have no idea what they are talking about and in so doing, committing libel against a company and that is against the law.
