I just did this, i have a perrin 2.5" catback non resonated. And this takes out the noise of the dumb nasally wind coming when going at higher speeds. Definitely a must. And to think i was about to buy a perrin inlet hose for $120 just to get rid of this! Thanks alot
1.You mean to tell me that Subaru include this plug while other owners went through all the trouble of removing the sound tube at the intake? 2. I prefer it plugged, less noisy and you can hear other things better, such as road noise, tire and other useful sounds. 3. I like how your mirrors are set up. Every mirror is a extension of the other. Nothing is duplicated.
Going by the comments I must be one of very few people that likes the sound tube noise in mine. For me that sound just adds to the experience of the car.
definitely prefer the plugged sound. The sound tube sounds weird and nasally. I actually didn't know about the hole in the passenger footwell. I've seen people take out the actual sound generator tube from the engine bay and use that same plug to cover the hole from the engine side. This is much easier though! P.S. if you're getting an aftermarket intake, I believe you need to take the sound generator out for most setups. However, the stock intake system is very efficient. A high-flow filter will net as much if not more than an actual intake tube
No, he's simply rev-matching. Double clutching was used on the older unsynchronized transmissions to match the engine and transmission speed between gears. While you can still do it on modern synchronized transmissions that have synchronizer rings specifically to elimate the need for double clutching, it is wholly unnecessary and increases the time it takes to shift. Rev-matching is when you tap the throttle while the clutch is in to bring the RPMs up to the lower gear's speed before letting the clutch out. It saves your clutch life, is easier on all the drivetrain components(and passengers), and enables quicker downshifting for almost instantaneous acceleration. You probably forgot about this question seeing as how it was asked two years ago but I figured I would post a response anyways to help out people that may stumble upon this video and wonder the same thing. Hope this helps
your drive mode is awesome, please tell me, when you downshift the gear, you just release the cluth ? or you accelerate too, for that awesome noise ? for example at 2:50 minute
Clutch in, down shift, blip the gas pedal to bring up the engine revs, and then release clutch. That sound is him tapping the accelerator before releasing the clutch in order to have smooth downshifts
I did not know you could kill the sound tube from the interior. You made me pull the car cover off my car. Were did you get your plug from? I have seen on the Forums guys using lows plastic plugs. TY.
AnotherSiGuy This is the new personal car & WR TV project car! The GTI sold shortly after I bought this, and although the GTI was an awesome car, I'm not missing it. This BRZ is turning out to be a blast to own. -Chris
It's from when I started to drive cars and got my license that I wanted to have a loud exhaust system and hear some nice notes coming from the pipes but u've a few things to remember just like the noise, the inspection when you sell the vehicle and the police attraction. I'd never want to be chased and stopped by the police because my car looks too loud or even too ricer, even the neighboors may say something to you when you start up the engine. So that's why I'll keep my simple but cool polished, chromed exhaust pipe.
***** you can see a black line in the mirror. The mirror is divided in two and people say that the smaller side is for that purpose...I don't believe in that xD
So removing this plug would make my brz louder wow what was the point for me putting el headers and a straight pipe when i could just remove a plug and it would be louder thx subaru
2:20 Without plug
3:50 where sound tube is plugged
5:08 With plug
6:30 With and then without
What is sound plug
It looks like you're having a blast with that BRZ man!
Loving it!

The BRZ is one of my favorite sports car reminds me of a porsche 944, nice video 👍
John Banks the 944 is a sorry excuse for a Porsche.
I like it plugged up. I can hear the tires, drive train and suspension better.
exactly what i was thinking
I'd opt to get it plugged up myself.
I like the sound tube. I Test drop 2016 BRZ and i like the sound, its not loud just a little extra.
The sound tube makes the car a sports car!
6:30 I'd buy a BRZ just so I can do that.
bruv get any RWD car to do that lol
Except a Mustang, because you need some people nearby to run over.

PLUGGED SOUND IS WAYYYYYYYYY BETTTTERRRR

If you plan on putting an exhaust on it please put unequal headers on it because that gives it that amazing Subaru rumble

Did you buy it?
Do you like the toggle switches? That's about the only thing I think is really cool in the upgraded package.
Wow it sounds significantly better with that stupid tube plugged up.

that's a mean little car
Looking forward to the intake & exhaust, keep it up!
Great, so now the wind noise is going to sound even worse
Wait, so does the car sound more or less with the sound tube plugged? From what I heard, it wasn't as loud,
My 14 Civic Si coupe makes amazing induction noises. I don't think it's tube-fed, though. Not 100% sure.
Does this guy double clutching? how does he make those perfect downshifts?

I find it funny that i have a BRZ and never knew about this... i'll have to test it out.
So simple lol. Just went and did this to my frs👍

fatboy19831 Just use the 12v plug in your glovebox!
Cool.
Nice comparo - def like to see more of your BRZ
Chris is this your new personal car or is this a WR project car? You had a GTI in the past correct?
AnotherSiGuy This is the new personal car & WR TV project car! The GTI sold shortly after I bought this, and although the GTI was an awesome car, I'm not missing it. This BRZ is turning out to be a blast to own. -Chris
Great info thanks!!
Do you guys think its possible to try and do a 2014 porsche panamera turbo? Or turbo s?
Nice!
Why would you want your car to be louder on the inside?
Because you have a passion for cars and can appreciate the mechanical symphony coming from underneath your hood.
Yeah I dunno about that, my car is loud and it can get a bit annoying.
Because with these small engines I guess people wanna have it louder idk
Muffin Man what a stupid question

what kind of camera do you use
Why is there an extra mirror on the side mirrors?
the smaller mirror helps you see your blind spot.
Edd L Why do we not have that in Europe? lol :P
***** You should be able to pick them up at your local auto parts store.
Winding Road Magazine I'll take a look :) Weird that I've never heard of this before..
***** you can see a black line in the mirror. The mirror is divided in two and people say that the smaller side is for that purpose...I don't believe in that xD
is it really that loud?

There's one thing you're missing. Most people won't be able to afford a lambo!
@@RennieAsh Lambo are way to much expensive compared to this sports car
