Steeda did a video where they picked up 10 rwhp with an H-pipe but no improvement with the X-pipe which is the opposite results on the S550. I went to a seminar where Ford engineers confirmed a plus up with the H-pipe but zero with the X-pipe. They explained why based on the manifold & different exhaust on the S650. Was told by who? I don't think tuning is coming for these cars. Clearly vmp felt that way too regardless of what they say or don't say the fact they partnered w Whipple for the 24 is very telling. That tells me that they can't do a tvs for the 24 because tuning isn't available (and likely isn't coming) outside of Ford approved tunes which suck. It's not a matter of figuring something out you just flat out cannot tune outside Ford approved tunes. They can see if they're tampered with remotely and even flag it if it is running a non approved tune. I don't think tuning is coming outside of what you have. People keep hoping is but I think it's a pipe dream. I'm very curious who told you we would be able to tune by summer meaning you can have anyone tune it not just Ford approved bs.

On the Mach's, my tuner had a Mach 1 identical to mine on the dyno 10 minutes before mine and only difference is the other Mach head Kooks headers and I had a H-Pipe pipe and he made 17 more WHP than me and I was pulling a little timing. You won’t really gain much from a ported manifold without a tune. With a tune you can rev the car higher to take advantage of the airflow from the ported manifold. Usually they are good for 5-7rwhp on lightly modded cars

Did you even watch the video? 33 horsepower with only headers. You can add a Whipple and push the horsepower to around 800 horsepower using the Whipple tune. Like the C8. I took around 1 year for tuning. Tuning for the Gen 4 Coyote will likely be available next summer getting the RPM to the maximum horsepower level of 7500+ along with E85 usage
@@DWH300 those videos are deceiving you can’t make that kind of power on just straight 93 without octane booster. With the displacement and compression of that engine you’re limited to 10psi on 93 anything over that the knock sensors will start to pull timing and detonation will occur

Ya, that thing is hideous. I bought a Foxbody instead for less than half the price and would smoke this pony. These cars sound way too raspy too, like a Honda Civic.
I like Mustangs but I HATE Ford for making em this heavy, I used to drive S197s so I am used ti that 3500-3600 ish kerb weight, but this thing feels remarkably heavy and that feels really BAD. I ve driven Camaro SS 1LE 18 MY as well and I expected a lot from S650, so even though its making lot f HP its still not fast enough compared with SS and even the S550 Mach1
@@ItalianStallion410 Sure, but I feel Ford could ve used more light weight tech than this Gen4 5.0. The Chevy Alpha platform for SS is a big proof, its lighter compared with S550 and much lighter than s650. S650s chassis is the issue not the engines side. Its chassis has too much steel which is good for stability but, I feel they could ve added more premium materials with more strength but less weight in relevant areas as Ford is the only brand making muscle cars for this era.

@@ItalianStallion410 Yep, but I also don't race but coming from S197 and after spending lot f time in cars like SS 1LE which I heavent tracked at all, I feel the weight f Mustang instantly and I am not getting used to it. Steering feels sluggish but actually its the weight f car that does this. On winding roads it makes it feel too digital cuz we feel the electronics trying hard to stop the rear end from hopping If I get 1 of these it wud be the base model Manual, I d instantly throw out all unnecessary padding, etc and tune the rear suspension for the weight removed. Even 100 lbs less this S650 wud feel much better. I think the s650 s crossing 4000 lbs mark, thats too much for a DoHC 32V motor which has less torque at lower revs. An SS has like 450 something torque at say 3000 revs so it does ve that advantage.. But with 5.0 light chassis is a MusT for performance, else I fear the S550 and C6 Camaros wud be faster than the S650 despite S650 having more power on paper and at crank

Get the soler ported throttle bodies. No tuning necessary. Have a 91mm on my GT350 and is fantastic

I like Mustangs but I HATE Ford for making em this heavy, I used to drive S197s so I am used ti that 3500-3600 ish kerb weight, but this thing feels remarkably heavy and that feels really BAD.
I ve driven Camaro SS 1LE 18 MY as well and I expected a lot from S650, so even though its making lot f HP its still not fast enough compared with SS and even the S550 Mach1

Sure, but I feel Ford could ve used more light weight tech than this Gen4 5.0.
The Chevy Alpha platform for SS is a big proof, its lighter compared with S550 and much lighter than s650.
S650s chassis is the issue not the engines side. Its chassis has too much steel which is good for stability but, I feel they could ve added more premium materials with more strength but less weight in relevant areas as Ford is the only brand making muscle cars for this era.

And yeah they are the last muscle car standing so I can see it’s hard to check everyone’s box but in reality prolly 85%-90% of mustang people don’t care about the weight it’s only the 10% that race these cars

Yep, but I also don't race but coming from S197 and after spending lot f time in cars like SS 1LE which I heavent tracked at all, I feel the weight f Mustang instantly and I am not getting used to it.
Steering feels sluggish but actually its the weight f car that does this.
On winding roads it makes it feel too digital cuz we feel the electronics trying hard to stop the rear end from hopping
If I get 1 of these it wud be the base model Manual, I d instantly throw out all unnecessary padding, etc and tune the rear suspension for the weight removed.
Even 100 lbs less this S650 wud feel much better.
I think the s650 s crossing 4000 lbs mark, thats too much for a DoHC 32V motor which has less torque at lower revs. An SS has like 450 something torque at say 3000 revs so it does ve that advantage.. But with 5.0 light chassis is a MusT for performance, else I fear the S550 and C6 Camaros wud be faster than the S650 despite S650 having more power on paper and at crank
