    That starter will eventually get heat soak due to the headers. You should get a heat shield sleeve for it, will last longer and work better.

      Yea you can wrap the headers or get a heat shield sleeve for the starter. I would just get both looks cool

    I’m running Kooks on my S197. Super happy with them.

    I’m sure that lift makes it a hell of allot easier. I’ve never heard of that header bolt tip thanks!

    Ray you definitely do good work!!! Thanks for pointing out the gotchas!!!! My favorite header is also Kooks. I do prefer the H-pipe deeper sound however!!!
    I have seen on the S650 a 30-40 RWH gain from Kooks
    1 7/8”.
    Nice video Brother 👍👊💪🇺🇸✝️

    Do u need a tuned after u install long tube heades?

      @YoteNick No sir. But if we could custom tune them, we would see a lot more power gains!

      Should have wrapped the header tubes next to the starter....it's going to be absorbing all that heat now

      @Crazy8ts Ive used heat deflection material on the starter vs wrapping the headers. Works good too.

      Dose wrapping the long tube headers with thermal wrap make a significant difference? I noticed that the starter and the air conditioning cooling lines are very close to the pipes. Could this cause these components to deteriorate faster than with the stock exhaust system?

      @ryanbautista6435 Wrapping the headers will reduce heat. The actual risk of heat damaging things is relatively low. I've personally never seen heat damage anything on a S550 or S650 mustang with unwrapped headers. The easier protection measure would be to apply heat protection on the things you wish to defer heat from

    Sounds absolutely wonderful, did u install new header gaskets or re used the factory one?

    • @drpmotorsports2186
      @drpmotorsports2186  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Subarashii-naniii I reused the factory gaskets. Never had an issue doing that.

      @ my car also 4k miles, do u recommend re using the factory ones over the kooks provided gaskets?

    • @drpmotorsports2186
      @drpmotorsports2186  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Subarashii-naniii factory ones would better than the provided ones because they are multi layer gaskets

      @@drpmotorsports2186 what about the locking washers provided with kooks. Did u install it or only the studs?

    • @drpmotorsports2186
      @drpmotorsports2186  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Subarashii-naniii Only used the bolts. There's simply no way of getting those locking tabs in there. Just put a decent hand torque on those bolts and they will stay put
