Yo, I can't say thank you enough. This video helped me out so much. I live in the backward ass state of NC, and I just knew we wouldn't have any kind of legal protections, but because of your video, I researched. It turns out as of 6 days ago we have federal protection for gender-affirming care. I am shook and I am grateful I am bout to get me some Blue Cross Blue Shield and see what's up. My T is coming in the mail tomorrow and I am so excited about that. I really want top surgery in December, get my name and gender marker changed this year too, but we will see. I am not 100% tied to this timeline because I still want to be as safe as possible and make sure everything is good. This video right here, my gawd literally made my day. Thank you so much and kudos to you for getting them folks together at yo job. I am big proud of you.
This is fantastic! So you didn’t need to be on T, just needed your letter from therapist with diagnosis of gender dysphasia? What a wonderful video on self advocacy and great to see someone speaking about the results for POC. Many doctors aren’t hyped to possibility of keloids, thicker scarring that are unique to us. I know of only Rumer and Dr. Fisher in BMore that actually has significant experience working with POC. I hope more people see and can learn from this video. Best of luck to you!
The weird this is my insurance covered my consultation and I had a second consultation with a different doctor but my insurance denied my first appeal imma try again but with letters from a psychologist and my pcp
really helpful and inspiring video to hear as another nonbinay person! im not getting top surgery but still super helpful advice in wrestling with us american insurance companies as a trans person
I am in Arkansas too, I'd say look at the company you want to work for as a whole and they may cover it in their plan still. I currently work for Starbucks and it is covered.
Thank you for such a comprehensive video. Glad things worked out. Insurance is such a nightmare.

I really needed this into. I have anthem too. Thank you.
A question, does it state in your insurance policy that it typically covers 100% on needed surgeries in general?
Thank you for this 🙏🏽
Excuse autocorrect...dysphoria not dysphasia...
Hey can you drop the therapists link
So did you end up getting your surgery for free if it was fully covered by insurance?
What insurance do you have I didn’t catch it in the video
I have same insurance as you but I’m in arkansas

@@williamjacobs5937 hmm they have been covering my doc appointment but not the t..
@@angelpotts4799 i recommend requesting a coupon lookup from the pharmacist if they have not already then
@@williamjacobs5937 yeah that’s what I do with harps pharmacy,
It’s preposterous that insurance companies are covering surgeries that are not medically necessary at all.
