I got an 85 aspencade 1200 i bought a new water pump and new gaskets for everything I will be doing it myself wish me luck!! Looks like yours is kinda like mine!! Thank you for reaching me how do it!!!
I’m getting ready to do this on mine also, I bought an OEM Honda water pump but now I need o rings and gaskets, from what I read I should get a quality kit from Randakk’s
Yeah... I thought that seal kit had all the seals, it did not. I just put an OEM one in, then took it apart again because the shift indicator was not lined up. I can have it off and back together in 20 minutes now though.
@@bigleftlcn words of advice, get a new water pump, have a seal kit, use anaerobic sealer on gasket, dab a small bit on the o rings to hold them in place, check your neutral switch before assembly, (lower case needs to be grounded to engine for it to work) do a couple heat cycles and check coolant after each. I've had a heck of a time.
@@backwoodscustoms I have the water pump and gasket kit on the way will be here tomorrow, I also have permatex spray gasket that I'm going to hit both sides of the engine cover gasket with before installing, I just did head gaskets (cause it was all apart anyway) set valve lash, and new timing belts, after this, hopefully no leaks, then taller shocks in the rear, progressive front, fork seals and tires, then maybe just maybe ride it? 😂

Yeah if I did it again I'd get better o rings then I did, nothing wrong with them, but it's not an easy deal to change everything out.
You put the old one back in???😲 Shoulda just replaced it, where that snap ring was probably was the leak
