How hot does a mini excavator get? Thermal imaging of the mini.
Overall Im not too surprised at the temps i had, but things to remember is that it was 45f outside, and it was moderate digging. I wouldn't be surprised to see anther 100f into the machine if it was warmer outside. I wanted to see where i was at with temps before i do a few mods to make it cooler under the hood.

    I broke my hip, well the top of femur that connects to socket in hip. I’ve been couch bound for 3 months since I can’t put ANY pressure ON my leg so I’m going stir crazy. I ended up crawling into my crawl space and decided it would be good exercise to start digging it out into a basement. Since I can’t stand and I literally cant stand in the crawl space this is the perfect project for me to Lt Dan myself back into action. THATS how I ended up here.

      @MarioPenna-w7h they are nice, but when I was at the auction they were going for $150-$180 and I thought that was steep, FB or eBay sells them for $250+ and that's way to much imo. I'd like one, but then your aux hyd are tied up all the time unless you get a 3 way splitter. It does take some getting used to but if you get snap lock pins and get rid of the bolts to move the thumbs pins, it doesn't take much to move it.

    WRONG WRONG WRONG FFS, This guy is clueless, talk about, how to do it all wrong, and I think that's what he should have called this video lol, Maybe Try Reading the Instructions First? FOR ANYONE THAT WANT'S TO KNOW HOW IT'S DONE? Follow these instructions, and read all of it, drill speed control is a must, because this Guy did it completely backwards, SO do this instead, and here's how, 1ST Step. Always be sure to, shake the bottles for 2 or 3 minutes, it's a must do, OK so it's Green Pad and Green Bottle #3 Compound, for 5 to 15 minutes (depending on how deep scratches are) and always keeping it wet with compound, then use the fine fiber towel that came with the kit, and apply a light coat and let it, dry to a haze, then take a clean fine fiber towel, and rub and polish away the haze, THEN 2ND Step, Green pad and Red Bottle #2 Compound, for 5 minutes and always keeping it wet with compound, next apply a light coat and let it, dry to a haze, then take a clean fine fiber towel, and rub and polish away the haze, THEN 3RD Step, Switch to "Black pad" and Blue Bottle #1 Compound, for 5 minutes, and always keeping it wet with compound, then apply a light coat and let it, dry to a haze, 4TH Step, put the cloth 'Polishing Bonnet" on the drill, and DON'T Put anything on it, the way he did, just polish the haze away and buff to a mirror finish, and with this step you can go High Speed using very light pressure, like your trying to tickle it lol yep I said it, and VERY INPORTANT INSTUCTION'S HERE, when using the drill, DO NOT go fast! you only want it, to spin at the same speed your hand, can rub circles! and only apply light pressure when doing the first 3 step's, with the drill, and DO NOT EVER stay in one spot , always keep the pad moving, IF YOU do not follow these steps about the drill speed and pressure, YOU will ruin the surface, but if you do it as described above, I Guaranty, you can make things like this Motorcycle, come back to factory finish with this kit, also on ebay you can find this kit for $29.99, but you can also use the Rain X brand "Premium Headlight Restore Kit" at Walmart for $19.99, This Kit He Used, had enough compounds, to do 2 Motorcycles and more, but he didn't take the 5 minutes needed to read the instructions, a waist of time and money, but the NOVUS Kit, is the best available, it's also helpful if you watch, a few video's on how to restore headlights, these technics describe above can be used on any plastic or fiberglass surfaces, good luck and peace out folk's

      coming at me a little harsh here guy.... I said like 10 times, idk what im doing here. I did read the instructions and its no where near what you are trying to tell me. but also your instructions are counter intuitive. One time you say to keep the part wet, buffing for 5 minutes per step. then say that the golf cart kit is enough to do two motorcyles. heres the instructions... Removing or minimizing minor scratches on golf cart body: 1. Put 3" backing pad into drill and attach wool pad. 2. Put 3" backing pad into drill and attach wool pad. Apply quarter size amount of Novus #2 onto blemish 3. Place wool pad firmly over polish and pull trigger moving up and down motion until polish is almost gone. Wipe remaining residue off and inspect blemish area. If still there, re-peat this step again. If it looks good, proceed to next step. 4.Remove wool pad and attach green foam pad 5. Remove wool pad and attach green foam pad. Apply quarter size amount of Novus #2 onto blemish area. 6. Place foam pad firmly over polish and pull trigger moving up and down motion until polish is almost gone. 7. Apply Novus #1 over area and wipe clean. I also said hopefully someone on here go WTF is this guy doing?? your that guy. Ill get new polish bottles and ill film it with your destructions, and since you guarantee it to be showroom ill delete this video and give you all the credit for doing it correctly

    Does the LS15R have a dual hydraulic pump or single pump? If dual what is the second pump running? The auxiliary?

    • @backwoodscustoms
      @backwoodscustoms หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey I was wrong. I'm not sure what I was looking at, these only have a single pump. For some reason I was looking at it thinking it was piggy backed pumps. IT is a single pump with a splitter for pilot controls and track. I'll delete my previous comment.

    • @ngnmech
      @ngnmech 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There at two pumps. The main pump supplies fluid to all functions including the boom movements. The second pump supplies fluid to the pilot controls levers. The boom control valves are hydraulic actuated hydraulic valves. So the second pump supplies the fluid from the pilot controls to open and close the valves in the main valve block for boom and slew movements. So that is the reason that the boom doesn't do anything when the pilot controls are moved without the engine running.

    • @backwoodscustoms
      @backwoodscustoms 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ngnmech yeah, that's what I was looking at when dude asked if it was dual or single pumps, then got to thinking, usually when someone is talking dual pumps, they mean 2 high pressure, separate system pumps. So I back pedaled and said single pump. But then I got to thinking it technically is 2 pump out let's, but one is low pressure, then I didn't know if low pressure pilot side was it's own pump or just a bleed valve in the pump . Then I felt like I didn't know what I was talking about and was hoping someone who could explain it correctly would comment on it and straighten all of us out. So thank you for being the guy that can explain things better then me.

      I wish i would have started on the outside, but this thing has been through the ringer so i assumed that it was something inside like ive seen a lot of other people talk about, It was well past the warranty stage so i figured i wasn't really out anything and just dove into it. I was half way through another project that i needed it for so i was rather rushed and trying to just get it working. Yes long story short, a guy should just check the connections between the battery and drill.

    Any concerns with over filling the hydraulic fluid tank?? Thanks man!

    • @backwoodscustoms
      @backwoodscustoms หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's just over the top of the sight glass, there's a baffle in the tank about 2" down from the fill hole, it's not over that. I ran it for 5hours straight the other day in hard digging and no oil expansion issues. Is it oe recommended? No. But every little bit of extra oil is more to move heat. Also if it wanted less it would just puke it out and let you know how much it wants.

    sorry if this is a repeat comment. i think i fixed the jerkyness with springs on the actuator buttons under the rubber shroud on the pilot controls . i cut a 9/16" x 1 3/4" compression spring in half and slipped it over the button, it gives resistance to the controls. please comment if you think it is going to cause an issue

    • @backwoodscustoms
      @backwoodscustoms หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was thinking about one large spring like a ATV/snowmobile clutch spring to go under the whole control lever, but I ran it for 11 hours in 2 days and my shoulders were already feeling it. It could have been more of ridding the bull movements but either way. As for what you did, I don't see how that would cause any issues. Might have to try that way.

    • @ngnmech

      How stiff a spring are you using. The ones that I am finding in the size you recommended seem very stiff, so are you using the really stiff springs that are cut in half, or are they a lighter spring.

      Sometimes you have to flip the fan blade too, radiator fans want to spin a certain direction usually. I wouldn't be worried about the dust. My concern would be blowing hot air into the engine. I have a fan to put on the left side, hopefully making it have good cross flow in there.
