Someone was selling an "allegedly" brand new SNES console for £600 and within the first half hour of the show it sold out, only for it to re-appear on the next convention on sale by the same vendors.... At the same time though i wouldn't rule out someone actually buying that lot as there is a lot of naive people out there thinking they are just going to go up in price all the time and for sellers like that, that's their main target.

I know what you mean. They turn into nothing but ads. TH-cam ads before the episode then an ad for who sponsored the episode. I don’t want to use an ad blocker because I want to support the creators but these ads are getting out of hand.

Wow that Apple II was a GREAT find - not only the computer but also the interface cards. Visible in the video was Microsoft's CP/M emulation card. Those are selling for $65-120 alone.

The problem with ebay prices is that auctions have a certain game mentality to them, where people bid up just to win. It's different than a normal shopping experience.
its different out there now, you see other channels picking stuff up at swaps but they are paying like 60-70% of sold listings etc, the days of cheap finds are probably long gone. I stopped garage sailing 7 almost 8 years ago because I wasn't finding stuff, but I did build a good collection prior to stopping, and those first episodes really pumped me up to do it.
I don't know if you guys know who the 8 Bit Guy is. He has a pretty big TH-cam channel (1.4 million subs) and he lives out in Dallas. One of the main things he does with his channel is restore old computers like the Apple 2. Maybe reach out to him and try to get a collab going or something. That would be pretty cool to see if he can get that thing running.
That gamegear in the box was easy worth 80. The sales for this year in october are all over 150-200. Even if this was filmed in 2022 $80 was a great price.
Thank you for bringing light to some of these sellers that are charging ridiculous amounts. The problem is, people ARE paying those prices. At least they are at the socal swap meets. I blame a certain channel out west here that spend WAY over retail (a lot of the time) on deals at the swap meet. They have a huge following and when vendors and people see what they're paying, it messes the system up for everyone. Now vendors think everything they have is gold and the un-educated buyers believe that it's actually worth that price. 95% of the time I don't even ask about prices on game items because of how ridiculous the prices are.

Great Episode! Just did a marathon like last week. Those flea market people I tell ya. I think most of them forget that a flea market is to get good deals on stuff not sell stuff at ebay prices. You should report that guy that sold the SNES for 400 bucks to the IRS :-)

The Apple II segment was a real nail bitter for me. I know your not vintage PC guys but having one that complete working or not even at 50, would have made very happy. I'm glad you ended up getting it.
