Billy and Jay turned down a lucrative offer from a major TV network (History Channel, I believe?) because corporate heads wanted them to be more scripted and plant fake game finds-that's integrity right there. So if you think this was faked then you should probably rethink that logic. Even if that wasn't the case, how do you fake several layers of dust and dried up bird poop? Furthermore, why would you deface valuable games for the sake of that detail?

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant. I don’t think I would have left anything there. I’d like to see a video of the cleaning process and the final product!
One time my Dad and I came across a closed down rental store in a small town we would regular pass through on our way to Panama City. The place still looked the same as the day it closed, with movies and cases still on the shelves. My Dad found out who the owner is and tried to negotiate going into the store to see what games he had (as there were some still on the shelves), but the guy wanted to sell the entire contents of the store (games and movies). The store was eventually cleared out and now a small vacuum repair store is in it's place.

I would have died and been so happy to get to clean and restore every single box and game. You’d be so surprised what you can get off glossy cardboard if it’s completely dry ! What a find - I wouldn’t be surprised if this was one of, if not the last abandoned rental shop with product still remaining inside.
You did a good thing calling around first before taking. If my house or business was completely abandoned and I was left alone then died, I wouldn't want my things to rot away. I'd want them to have a second chance.

First off, I wanna' say that the individuals behind this channel are definitely genuine guys with a hardcore passion for all things video games - including collecting. I tip my hat off to you fellas. With that being said, I'm not the type of person to condemn / judge another because of their own personal choices. In fact, if folks choose to pillage some abandoned building in search of a few measly pigeon-dung Genesis / SEGA CD titles that aren't worth jack-squat in those conditions or even worth the trouble to clean-up... err, then knock yourself out. Heck, I'm a pretty diehard gamer / collector myself and I can understand the initial excitement when coming across a find such as this. Sheesh, I'm still convinced that the SEGA CD still remains one of the greatest and most influential console / add-on of ALL-TIME... as it undoubtedly ushered in a new era of technology and interactivity (at the time) that was unprecedented, and the gaming industry wouldn't be what it is today if not for the early '90's. Whatever the case may be (and while this was definitely an "interesting" episode), it just boggles my mind that people are willing to put their overall health at risk over what's nothing more than garbage at this point. Not only that (and while this place was abandoned for probably decades), this guy was clearly trespassing on property that's not his. Yeah, I get it... it's not like anyone in that Arizona town is going to essentially care. While most of the comments posted are positive and ultimately congratulate this guy on the "find of the century" - RULE OF THUMB... don't EVER think that a find such as this dump is even worth taking a second glance. Hey, I understand the whole "thrill of the hunt" when collecting. But seriously, he didn't even bother to put on some vinyl gloves and perhaps a mask before entering? Yeah, not too bright considering you could easily cut yourself on a piece of glass and get Sepsis or even Cryptococcus from all the pigeon turds. Now, I've thankfully managed to live through a Sepsis incident YEARS ago, and I would NOT wish this upon anybody unless you have a death wish - TRUST ME. Not only that, being infected with some disease because of pigeon poo can do some SERIOUS, SERIOUS damage. Again, to each their own. The thing is, the few "sub-par" games he managed to salvage was in no way worth all that inconvenience. Hmm, putting your health / life at risk for a freakin' 'Darkwing Duck' box? No thanks. Why not just try EBAY and save yourself the trouble. Plus, he could have easily gotten to his destination in a more timely manner than getting side-tracked for hours with this whole ordeal. All in all, I'm merely expressing my concern for people and their overall well-being. I'm serious. While watching this video, I kept thinking to myself... this individual seems really cool and a guy I'd love to share some gaming stories with. However, I kept cringing every time he kept touching / breathing in more pigeon crap. The coolest part was that you found Genesis, SNES and NES era stuff with a sprinkle of N64. Not Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. It just speaks to how much longer that stuff has been sitting there. Very cool. Great video. It’s also highly unfortunate that the window was broken. Had it not been, all of that stuff may have been much better preserved.
Wow! It was really exciting to live vicariously through you on this one, Billy. I can totally see myself reacting the same way to this discovery, being unable to resist exploring even though it's so disgusting. 😅 Pretty awesome! Great episode.
I've been watching the channel since 2011 and this episode is probably the most exciting one even after all these years. Nice find Billy thanks for sharing.
Former video store clerk here. Yes, I remember. Hell, Family Video only closed up for good two and a half years ago. Most of the stores are still standing. With original signage in most cases.
One of the best episodes y'all have done. Here in Oklahoma you can still find these little stores like this. They're all in the rural parts of the state, but they are still around. Old small town pawn shops and thrift stores as well. Honestly if you can't find these places then garage sales are the final frontier for game chasing for good prices. Most of the 80's and 90's game owners have long sold off their stuff so these days you'll find more N64, PS1, and PS2 stuff.
oh my god , i just hit the manuals in the middle , cant hold back comments anymore , this is sooo flipping rad !!!! so happy for you , what a score, bet you buy a box of rubber gloves for the truck after this.
When Billy was looking through the instruction manuals I did see a Ready 2 Rumble manual and the game was released in 99, so they were at least open until then! Awesome episode!
Man, you know you have a serious addiction and some problems if you are actually overjoyed and enthusiastic to break into someone else's property, an old haunted Rental Store that is covered in Toxic Bird Feces, Piss, Mold and God only knows what else. You then proceed to grab hold of the games raw, bare handed, wearing No gloves using no Mask , breathing in toxic style air etc etc. Probably going to require some medical shots after doing such insane things. There is no way in Hell I would go inside that disease ridden building, let alone touch any of the stuff inside, I cant imagine how dangerous and extremely hazardous to a persons health this is.
You can usually clean a lot of those boxes without damaging them with just a microfiber cloth and water. You might just have to do it over and over to get all the yuck and grime off of them but microfiber and water usually works very well.
Great episode Billy. Please keep a box of disposable gloves/masks/antibacterial wipes ready for chasing. If games can’t be found, I think you have a knack for nostalgia chasing, great for the channel I feel. Stay safe.
The bud light box takes me back to my days qorking in a liquor store. That boz held 4 6 packs of bottles and i remember seeing it in the 2000-2004 time frame
No pun because the pigeon poop but try booty wipes to clean them off. It’s safe for that so I wouldn’t worry about further damaging the boxes. We need a follow up though.
This is absolutely amazing! The things dreams are made of! I wish I could find a time capsule like that. I wouldn’t even care if it had poop on it. It’ll buff out 😂
I love that Billy’s second thought after “GAMES!” is “but this stuff isn’t mine, I need to figure out who actually owns it.” Obviously putting the find on TH-cam increases your accountability, but 98% of game chasers probably would’ve just ransacked it and took whatever they could/want.

Right in the nostalgia. Nice video!
I would just cut out the front of the Darkwing Duck box and frame it as that parts in decent condition. Still salvage something out of it.
This is the most pure definition of Game Chasing - great content - thanks guys
thank you for watching
Wow! It was really exciting to live vicariously through you on this one, Billy. I can totally see myself reacting the same way to this discovery, being unable to resist exploring even though it's so disgusting. 😅 Pretty awesome! Great episode.
It’s a good day when a game chaser episode drops
Seeing NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis games in a place that was around long enough for Episode 1 on VHS is pretty interesting.
What a crazy find. Made for one of the best episodes!
This is a hell of a find. Good on you for trying to make sure it was cool to take. I also think you made the right decision on taking it.
I love urban exploring 😁
Promise me I you find something cool 😎 you will take it and the hell with the owner!!
When Billy was looking through the instruction manuals I did see a Ready 2 Rumble manual and the game was released in 99, so they were at least open until then! Awesome episode!
This is one of the most epic video game finds ever
Amazing episode, thanks for capturing this for your fans.
I kept saying "gloves, you need gloves!" The entire video.
That Terminator 2 game brought back so many memories. Never beat it but i enjoyed as a kid.
Damn! What a find! This sky rockets to be one of my favorite Game Chasers episodes. 🔥🔥🔥
😢 I saw TMNT VHS tapes. People surprisingly pay good money for them.
that is crazy. what a find! I wonder if other small towns have houses or stores with stuff no longer being used.
You can usually clean a lot of those boxes without damaging them with just a microfiber cloth and water. You might just have to do it over and over to get all the yuck and grime off of them but microfiber and water usually works very well.
Yes if it was me i had take all and trying ot fix hit, seriously he had a big luck and make choices....
Great episode Billy. Please keep a box of disposable gloves/masks/antibacterial wipes ready for chasing. If games can’t be found, I think you have a knack for nostalgia chasing, great for the channel I feel. Stay safe.
omg that 80's fair mirror prize with the cardboard frame! someone won that at a fair!😢
Texas department of theft officer here, give me a call
🤣🤣
The bud light box takes me back to my days qorking in a liquor store. That boz held 4 6 packs of bottles and i remember seeing it in the 2000-2004 time frame
It's one thing touching pigeon sh*t with your bare hands, but touching Star Wars Ep1 VHS with bare hands... you need more than a tetanus shot now!
It’ll buff out 😂
That box looked more like Battleturds!
It's a cool find!
I love that Billy’s second thought after “GAMES!” is “but this stuff isn’t mine, I need to figure out who actually owns it.” Obviously putting the find on TH-cam increases your accountability, but 98% of game chasers probably would’ve just ransacked it and took whatever they could/want.
