Hope you're well Dan. xx❤
The new calc app will change the entire experience of using the iPad in so any ways. We won't need to change the file manager at all with it on our machines. It's the most important Mac OS future they could have chosen to include on iPad OS. It's the beginning of a new dawn for all users not just Pro's.
@@andyH_England But Apple spent so much time in their presentation on the availability of this new app. A whole 15 seconds! So, it must be an important component of their marketing strategy!
@ZONEof TECH: Hi Daniel, have a good day. I need your sincere advice. Do you recommend upgrading our M2 iPad Pro to the new M4 iPad Pro, considering the four major downgrades: 1)camera, 2)speakers, 3)physical SIM slot, and 4)battery?
Have you tried to really use the Notes app you’re talking about? I use the Notes app to write down vocabulary in Japanese Im currently learning… whenever the note file starts getting too big (like 10 pages of handwritten notes) the app starts acting in a weird way, malfunctioning and even crashing. It becomes simply unusable (iPad Pro 12.9” 256GB 3rd Gen here). Or maybe this is just apple scheduled obsolescence kicking in
The Notes app is likely limited to how much RAM it can use. Apple has allowed devs to allocate more RAM in the 8GB+ models, but you probably have a 6GB model, so Notes will run out of RAM. You may need to save and close heavy notes and start a new note to continue your work. This is likely to be fine in 8GB+ iPad Pros.
@@andyH_England Well, it’s no surprise then that, a couple years ago, when Samsung was putting more and more RAM into their products (mainly phones and tablets), Apple stalwart defenders kept saying that “iOS doesn’t need that much RAM to operate”. It so happens that it did, and I can’t say i’m surprised. Typical Apple. And you’re right. Whenever I close the big file and start working from scratch on a new one, the App starts working fine again. It’s not ideal for me, but it’s a workaround.
Apple could launch a macOS with touch screen support to install in iPad, because the current multitask iPadOS system is so limited, its samething of a iPhone with big screen with almost nothing of diffence.
It really took until 2024 for a native iPad calculator app and the ability to put app icons anywhere you want?? 🙄🙄 How about fixing the Files app instead
SeRIOUSLY who’s spending 2000 to write simple Mathematical equations on an iPad ! That should be a surprise feature not a headliner ! No one in their average day use is like “ you know what I wish I could do…write 1+1 and an = sign and have the tablet give me the answer that is inherently slower than just using a calculator or even asking chat GPT bruh
Took apple 15 years to make app icons move wherever you want lmao. I'm a big apple user but it is frustrating how far behind they are. One thing they really should have got onboard with is underscreen fingerprint technology. Face ID is very good don't get me wrong but it would be cool if they implemented two different biometrics. I guess there is a long list of reasons why they haven't but its just another example of how frustrating it is that they take so long to get onboard with emerging technological updates which android phones capitalise on.
@@artzac69 to be fair, not really impressed. Icon tinting and the fact that you can arrange icons where you want is older than dirt but sure, ok to have. New action center is pretty ok.. Then again, this is beta1, quite a bit to go until launch.
We can’t let apple keep getting away with this crap ! How can you literally make a whole keynote about CALCULATOR on an IPAD !! Like bro !! How many people in 2024 literally would need a calculator app as a defining feature
What do you mean "Finally" as if all our ipad dreams were answered, Finally will only have meaning when Apple FINALLY allows M powered iPads to dual Boot Mac OS !
Zone of Tech, you are not the demographic for this device hate to break it to you. A "pro" iPad Pro user is climbing telephone poles needing statistics, a doctor needing 3d scans in the field right next to their patient during surgery, a musician who needs a touch based os to manipulate sound, or a calligraphy artist who needs tilt, barrel roll and hover to see exactly where their line will be before they write it and can get the exact thickness and fine lines. 3D modeling, animation, the list goes on... Anyone that requires an intimate touch based OS. This, is Apples target demographic. They made it thinner for THESE pro users. You my friend would fall under the category of a "pro" traditional computer user, where keyboard shortcuts, complex plug ins and tandem software running, coding, etc. anything designed for a keyboard and mouse based input basically. These are traditional ways we all know of doing work and it's okay to have leaned these ways very efficiently and fast and effective. But there's a touch based way of learning these tasks as well. yes it may not be as efficient (yet) but 99% of the time its just as effective, and you will get more efficient as time goes on. And I get it, It's hard to break habits and learning new software and creating new workflows but it' is possible. It's like going from a car to an electric motorcycle; little bit of a learning curve, and may I say dedication and a little talent?. But it's also possible to use these two devices together in tandem. For example, most the time my iPad pro is on a stand next to my mac and I use it as a sidekick and portable computer when I'm not at my desk. I can start making music on my iPad in logic and then finish mixing and mastering on my mac. I also work with designs and 3d modeling and i use my iPad pro solely for those projects. I use my mac for certain "pro" things and my iPad for OTHER "pro" things. And that's fine with me, I'm not too sure why everyone wants an all in one. I would personally hate doing any type of huge file management project, or multi frame video editing, or really anything that requires multiple screens or a larger screen on an iPad. It just comes down to thinking what the best case scenario for these devices are, and if your workflow falls under those categories or not.
For most tech pros, the iPad Air will be the most suitable device. If you are using the iPad with the Magic Keyboard 90% or greater of the time? Then, buy a MacBook.
I am a pro using iPad as the main creation device. The fact that I need a MacBook for simple file management, a real desktop browser, and some real multitasking is ridiculous. i have a MacBook for on-the-go for literally just that bc an iPad can't do these simple things. these are not operating system-level changes Apple would have to do but would improve the professional workflow dramatically. since they announced the move to iPad OS as a platform different than ios, it feels like nothing really changed. and it's infuriating since these machines doubled in price and hardware capability since then. I'm not asking for macos on iPad, or even more pro apps. i think there are by now enough out there. it just feels so limiting using this thing considering what it could be capable of with just some minor improvements. And its not like ipad pros are priced at companion lvl device prices anymore. the iPad I need costs more than my MacBook at 2100$ I'm a 2d artist sometimes touching 3d and graphic design. iPad should be tailor-made for my job considering all the efforts put into drawing capabilities. the fact it isn't says a lot
Is it just me or is the audio on the new iPad Pro 13 M4 not as good as the 2018 iPad Pro? Is it just me or is the picture quality on the 2018 iPad Pro picture better than the M4? Is it just me or is the Magic Keyboard exterior quality incredibly poor and marks really easily. Pencil is ok though. Returning the M4 and keeping the 2018. Who cared that it’s thinner! Oh I can no longer access the RT app on the M4. Goodbye M4!!
Whatever floats your boat... but you must be kidding about an LCD screen having better picture quality than OLED. Almost as good as OLED, maybe. Better? No. Did you have nano-texture glass mucking up the image?
I don't think is a new era, it just got barely better, it will not help with the ipad still being having low sales, in comparison, the macbook got even better with the iphone mirroring directly there, and I really wanted a macbook replacer but not, the ipad it still a niche product, nothing else. Best
Analysts have upgraded their expectations for iPad Pro sales from 5 million to >8 million for 2024. So, I suspect it will be a super-cycle in a mature stagnant market. So if true then Apple has a major success on their hands.
I would say the biggest thing about Apple Intelligence is that to get the most out of its capabilities, you now require an iPad and a pencil. Whereas prior to WWDC, there was really no reason to own an iPad if you had an iPhone or a Mac. So Apple have managed to find a way to get users to buy iPad’s despite it still just being an iPad.
i am not as critical of ipados as many are. but i dont think anything stood out to me from the keynote. specifically nothing to tell me to leave me M2 Pro 12.9
The idea of iPad IOS needing to be like Mac IOS seems odd. Yes, it would be nice if you could do some Mac things on an iPad but for the most part the 2 devices are used for different things. The iPad isn’t just for “quicker, simpler” things, there are some things that are more intuitive and easily done on an iPad than on a Mac.
Thank you for your effort. I would like to suggest öne thing about your presentation style. Please decrease the amount of your tiny jokes. It looks not natural. You already give great effort for the channel. That is enough and perfect ❤
Math Notes seems like it has potential, but I have yet to see any examples of it performing anything more complex than 10th grade maths. It basically just looks like scientific calculator functions with graphical flair--not impressive. Other apps have been able to do it for years (albeit paid apps).
They made some improvements but the calculator hype was embarrassing. Missed obvious stuff like make Journal available, Calendar integration in reminders as well not just to calendar, mouse icon to arrow not circle, Folder app improvements to be like Finder. A ton of other things that easily improved if listened to feedback from users and non the poor performing internal iPadOS employees who need to be swapped out.

So glad I can stick with my B1 iPad Pro 11 and still get the AI features. Had to upgrade my iPhone but the upgrade was worth it
Still waiting for the new iPad mini... truly hoping it will release later this year!
can its math solve integrals?
Apple could launch a macOS with touch screen support to install in iPad, because the current multitask iPadOS system is so limited, its samething of a iPhone with big screen with almost nothing of diffence.
Damn, Math Notes would’ve really helped me last year in my senior year of college for physics cause I was STRUGGLING 😮💨
After testing the new app icon customisation I just realised, it looks really really bad in person 😢
It really took until 2024 for a native iPad calculator app and the ability to put app icons anywhere you want?? 🙄🙄 How about fixing the Files app instead
Waiting for more details on iPad mini with M2 chips, OLED display and more memory giving us the ability to use stage manager.
Does the new pencil pro work on a M2 Ipad pro?
Nope.
I am definitely in the market to replace my iPad 2018.
As someone who would even eat apples fresh stink ,you are still using 2018 ipad .Damm, you broke man!!! who loves to drool over apple's something 😂😂😂
Fix your eye first 😂😂😂
This review has me thinking I’m going to have to upgrade my original iPad Pro, just to all the benefits of 18!
I have iPad os 18 now lol (beta)
How is it
@@artzac69 to be fair, not really impressed. Icon tinting and the fact that you can arrange icons where you want is older than dirt but sure, ok to have. New action center is pretty ok.. Then again, this is beta1, quite a bit to go until launch.
@@The_Broman what abt the eye tracking? Is it at least functional or just a useless gimmick?
How do you get it?
We can’t let apple keep getting away with this crap ! How can you literally make a whole keynote about CALCULATOR on an IPAD !! Like bro !! How many people in 2024 literally would need a calculator app as a defining feature
iPad is 18 needs “dex” but to call it “stem” and it moved just like a MacBook
Steps in the right direction, but would be better if we can get iPad OS somewhere in between IOS and MacOS.
And its not like ipad pros are priced at companion lvl device prices anymore. the iPad I need costs more than my MacBook at 2100$
I'm a 2d artist sometimes touching 3d and graphic design. iPad should be tailor-made for my job considering all the efforts put into drawing capabilities. the fact it isn't says a lot
@@fxarts9755 what is your job exactly? You’re a professional 2d artist?
Ehh paper like why would you bother make the inky black levels of the OLED display murky
I believe all this can be done on the iPad M2 and M1 so what’s the point
I would say the biggest thing about Apple Intelligence is that to get the most out of its capabilities, you now require an iPad and a pencil. Whereas prior to WWDC, there was really no reason to own an iPad if you had an iPhone or a Mac. So Apple have managed to find a way to get users to buy iPad’s despite it still just being an iPad.
Which ipads will get ios 18?
At this point Apple updates are about as consequential as Red Dead Redemption updates.
Will this iPad os work in my iPad mini 6 2021 ?
You’ll get iPadOS 18 but features will be restricted no AI
Absolutely, it’s just that your iPad mini 6 will not be able to do some of the AI stuffv
i am not as critical of ipados as many are. but i dont think anything stood out to me from the keynote. specifically nothing to tell me to leave me M2 Pro 12.9
Damn if only ipad not expensive i could barely learn mathematics 😂
The idea of iPad IOS needing to be like Mac IOS seems odd. Yes, it would be nice if you could do some Mac things on an iPad but for the most part the 2 devices are used for different things. The iPad isn’t just for “quicker, simpler” things, there are some things that are more intuitive and easily done on an iPad than on a Mac.
I wish they’d atleast allow us to display our iPhone like the Mac and bring over the damn Journal app. Who the hell wants to journal on their phone??
Always wanted an iPad, but can’t afford one 🙂
was the the only 1 that was really disappointed with ios 18 lol, where is my option for animated wallpapers !
Yes , the iPadOS 18 it’s just a disappointment 💔
Thank you for your effort. I would like to suggest öne thing about your presentation style. Please decrease the amount of your tiny jokes. It looks not natural. You already give great effort for the channel. That is enough and perfect ❤
Math Notes seems like it has potential, but I have yet to see any examples of it performing anything more complex than 10th grade maths. It basically just looks like scientific calculator functions with graphical flair--not impressive. Other apps have been able to do it for years (albeit paid apps).
iPad os18 sucked.
Yes.
It hasn't even come out yet?
@@atrdigital5935 Betas are out already, and he’s right, it sucks (Not really, but it’s just a waste for the Pro models).
BRHH😅
thank you
They made some improvements but the calculator hype was embarrassing. Missed obvious stuff like make Journal available, Calendar integration in reminders as well not just to calendar, mouse icon to arrow not circle, Folder app improvements to be like Finder. A ton of other things that easily improved if listened to feedback from users and non the poor performing internal iPadOS employees who need to be swapped out.
iPad era will start when you can edit this video on your iPad. You cannot do PiP video on iPad
That math thing is cool. I like this new android iPad.
I like the UDDER side of things. It is the Milky Way.
Beautiful Eye soothing videos and amazing content. You are very handsome and should try in Hollywood mate.
You are the next mrwhosetheboss 🙂
