When it comes to violent games, movies/tv, or music , you have no one to blame, but the parents if a small child is playing, watching, or listening them. Parents should do a better job parenting when comes to their children. They are quick to blame anything and everything if something happens, but themselves. If your child is acting like an asshat, more than likely, you are the reason why.
Blaming others is the easiest thing to do. It doesn't require you to think nor does it require you to understand things that you've done wrong.

Halo2freak4ever, no they won't because they know that gamers won't be happy about it and would rage. That's why microtransactions and loot boxes exist. Because they can't raise the price without fatal backlash, they have to resort to other means of monetizing their games.
I don't have a problem with pre-order bonuses and dlc unless the content is already on the disc locked behind a pay wall.

It's kind of stupid that there's a double standard for everything though. Life games don't make you violent they don't make you sexist it's just a piece of media that you look at
Basically, a game reviewer got caught (quite literally) in bed with a game developer and it was the straw that broke the camels back on the subject of ethics in video games journalism, the cause of which #Gamergate was trying to push. People just wanted journalists to not be paid or otherwise compensated to give good reviews of games, because people spend a lot of money on them often times based on reviews (as one does) and they need to be able to trust those reviews to be unbiased.
However, the game developer (a woman by the name of Zoe Quinn) whose game-reviewer sex partner outed her after she cheated on him received backlash for her unethical behavior, decided to hide behind 'misogyny' as a shield to deflect any criticism towards her. Numerous feminists and social justice warriors jumped on the bandwagon and used it to slander Gamergaters, the wide majority of whom were simply fed up with the industry.
TL;DR: Gamers got fed up with unethical game reviewers, reviewers & opportunist ideologues shot back with accusations of sexism, and a shit storm ensued.

Video games due to their very nature are to blame for such expectations. With technology becoming increasingly sophisticated, more data being able to be stored, more and more pixels being added to the average TV experience of course gamers would want such things for the same price. Consumers always want bigger and better things without a hefty price tag. That's just how retail is.

Epags Gamer Video games have become more expensive to make but the price has remained the same for the last 20 years. 60 dollars 20 years ago is worth less today. With inflation games should cost 100 dollars minimum.

Well that was to the fact that not many companies knew what the games and the hardware should cost especially since video games was a fluctuating market. Now i will admit 60 dollars back then was steep but at least you knew what you were getting up front, or at least you knew you were getting the whole game, now a days i feel like every company, especially EA will charge you for what used to be industry standards, like the REAL ending to a game, or HARD MODE in the difficulty settings
Everything will eventually shifts for money, this is not a "shocking" factor. but I admit one thing, I never imagined that the internet was destined to ruin this hobby. The internet seemed so positive back in the day, PS2 giving the first steps toward online multiplayer, the PC doing this for years, etc... But when the massification truly hit this industry, damn! It was ugly. Most of the problems can be traced back to the internet, and this is a interesting topic. It shows that when you amassed too many people on one place, disaster is bound to happen.

Micro-transactions AKA (pay to win) has ruined online gaming. Good example is WOW allowing players to purchase a level 90 account which completely contradicts to whole point of playing an MMORPG.
Actually, it has ruined all gaming.
The pay to win model can fuck up games but WoW is possibly the worst example you could use. The account boosting is a laziness feature and nothing more. Leveling has never been hard in WoW except maybe in closed beta where it was a hassle. Meanwhile you have games like almost anything out of Nexon where you can buy definite advantage over other players.
The MMORPG genre itself has no point, I honestly don't understand the appeal of this type of game. Infinite grinding to showoff rare virtual "itens" for virtual people that you don't even know? This is the point, the appeal?

I love the PC vs console "debate".. I'm a PC gamer and I feel like most games are better suited for PC.. because that's my preference. The "debate" is mostly about graphical fidelity - in which PC IS the superior party, if one can afford it - but that is completely irrelevant. Graphics < gameplay. Some games are still superior on console. It's all a matter of preference. For example, I hate FPS games on console because it doesn't give me the control I want, but that's ME. That doesn't mean I'm better than anyone else. Some people prefer PC, some prefer consoles, and that's okay!

I think it depends of what type of gamer you are and what type of games you like to play. If you like games with higher graphics than PC is for you.

I hate graphically downgraded games. In this day and age, crappy graphics is no excuse especially when you're paying the full price.
Mass effect Andromeda was one shit show and a prime example of this. 200 million dollar project came to crash because EA decided to rush it and gave the animation and storyline designing jobs to inexperienced idiots.
Anyway, I digress. Back to the graphics part, the reason I prefer PC is because PC versions are not downgraded graphics vise most of the times.

Gamergaters legitimately make me ashamed to be a gamer. During the peak of the "controversy", I was very close to putting down the controller for good after nearly 30 years. I almost wish I could have a one-on-one with some of these young men and get to the bottom of what REALLY makes them so damn angry. Being upset over lack of ethics in journalism doesn't normally motivate one to send death and rape threats.

Gamergate was a REACTION by gamers to what certain members of the media tried to portray gamers after an incident revolving around a female game developer. The incident was not even part of the mainstream gaming community, most people didn't even know what happened or that it even existed. Then suddenly, game journalists who are friends with said female game developer began calling out the ENTIRE gaming community for being misogynistic assholes, infuriating everyone, thus beginning the Gamergate movement.
However, the movement did have its problems with trolls and actual sexist people who hijacked the movement to try to attack women in the gaming industry. The media, which is ALWAYS biased against gamers took advantage of it and now, even though the whole thing has died down, Gamergate is still remembered as a "misogynistic movement."
So gamergate is a reaction to an event nobody knew about and later got hijacked by idiots online that the media falsely labelled the "entire movement"? Is that about right?

Early access can be an awesome thing when done right. I play quite a few early access games and I love the interaction with the developers and seeing fan ideas actually introduced in the game and concerns addressed. The beauty of early access is the community helps mold the game into what it ultimately becomes.

Well, with the money you expent on a console + accesories + games, you can buy a decent PC. Not saying one is better than the other, but usually money is not a good excuse for this hobby. Tactical Manatee well, controls can be considered accessories, cables, power connectors, etc... I'm not talking about only the kinect or Playstation vr, every peripherical costs money, and usually they are very expensive considering the cheap material used most of the time. The Wii is the perfect example, the console is super cheap, but there's hundreds of expensive accessories (at the time, sure). The multitasking of PCs is something unparallel, the money you invest on a single machine that can literally do everything, this money returns to you in many ways. You don't need Blu ray players, sound system, consoles, etc. And talking about the prices of the games, they are not the same, pc usually are cheaper and steam sales are a very positive aspect.

My issue with season pass is that they dont even include everything anymore. Extra content is sold separately to the season pass.

An author accused his x of sleeping around for good reviews. 4chan and various other sites shut down the conversation which in turn drew attention to the subject, but it was had by many small groups with differing views. One side focused on the female dev & harassing her because of what her jealous x claimed. GG on the other hand had people more concerned with the integrity of developers and reviewers... but it was still spawned by that claim, so misogynists were part of GG from the beginning... (But this was only some GG people.)
It became a controversy because Gawker, in an attempt to spin doctor the situation, as it was mainly their integrity being questioned, had several of their outlets simultaneously write a series of slanderous articles which made gamers out to be a bunch of hateful straight white dudes. As such, a bunch of feminists and SJWs got involved, which led to more misogynists getting involved, and then...

Good list, but I'm surprised game delays wasn't one. Sure, it might mean that the game could be better at release, but it also kind of inspires fear as to whether the game will be good or have bugs and such, as well as just upset people who have been waiting.

I highly doubt you played DOA. If you did you would know that they are actually characters, and they just so happened to be overly sexualized (like mortal kombat but people play that game so it gets a free pass). And it's not just the female characters Hayabusa's arms have vains on the vains.
The reason that characters are attractive is not to be attractive, it's because humans as a species like attractive people more, its nature, so when people make characters that they want people to like they make them attractive (or unattractive if they want them to dislike them). Its psychology. Also, when people right a character and picture them in their head they usually aren't thinking of someone who is fat and ugly. First I have to say this: When you say you want a character closer to the average, you aren't talking about how attractive they are, you are talking about how fat they are. If you want a character closer to the average, play a game about an average person. Warriors, adventurers and survivors are not average people and aren't designed to look average.
Not to mention that people only care about less attractive women. People might say that Triss and Yennifer are to attractive, but no one gives a shit about Geralt's scared, chizzled abs, his long white main, and his grizzled voice. And no one has even commented on uncharted when drake has his peck cleavage out in the entire third game. People also bitch about Camilla from FE Fates because she has boobs, bit no one mentioned how atleast five male characters had a v neck completely expose the pecks. Don't even get me started on god of war or smite.
Momoko Duval Well its just a video game, and like I said before, the characters are all above the average and are designed to be above the average. They are not designed to be sexy. Even in Japanese games, even if they are meant to look sexy, it's Japan and over there they don't understand that it's tacky to do that.

Yes PC had 2 bad games and heck probably more, but Consoles suffered from issues as well. Its doesn't mean that system is bad. Most launch date games are usually buggy and glitchy, well because they usually suffer from some sort of issue. It takes a while to the game to be patched. Example all Bethesda made games are hella buggy and glitchy at launch on all platforms.
In regards to the console versus PC war I have a liking to consoles mostly but I am willing to try PC gaming. The reason for my preference is that I like having a simple control interface.

It isn't really preventing other games from being made, I know it sucks having all the hit games from last gen being released again but it's a business motive, they are in the process of remastering Darksiders 1 and I assume that when it gets enough sales they will eventually release the third game, They are also remastering the Crash trilogy so people who are newer to gaming can get a chance to play these games, if they were to come out with a direct sequel then it would only appeal to the original fans and wont bring in as many newcomers. See what I mean?
