The MK11 Jax Ending is about making the US not exist and becoming a black country like Wakanda. So yes, it is cringe and thats why people hated it.

exactly video games much like movies and tv shows have ratings for a reason so if you buy a game or watch a tv show or movie knowing that they have nudity and strong language then that's their problem not our problem

I remember when "Bully" came out and Jack Thompson tried to get it banned. The Judge decided to take the game home and play it to see if it was indeed unsuitable for people.
He returned the following court session with a big grin on his face and said it's perfectly fine. Jack yelled at the judge and was almost imprisoned.

Downgrading sometimes need to be done to make deadline, as long as it does not affect the games immersion too much

What makes it even funnier about No. 1 is that Spider-Man has a Photo Mode which you can uses stickers to decorate your photos, including get this, puddle stickers, referencing the “controversy”. XD
There were complaints regarding Smite's goddesses being over sexualized. When this controversy popped up, those of us familiar with theology and certain religions laughed as Smite's depictions of said certain goddesses were actual covered in more conservative attire.

They went on and on about how it was funny to *some* people and how we are praising money over education. The skit didn't even have anything remotely offensive then he compared it to someone punching another person in the face, calling it a prank. The skit was about owning a donut shop btw. I'm so done with the internet smh.

The guys name digital homicide were trying to sue was name Jim Sterling a video game critic who said the slaughtering grounds was an asset flip sold in a poor state they tried to sue him for $15 million but failed badly.

It was in development at Rockstar but they cancelled it to focus on the Ps5 and Xbox Series X ports of GTA V

For me, number 1 would 100% be the “Hot Coffee” controversy from GTA SA. The cutscene is hidden and could only be accessed using mods which isn’t available normally and the game is rated M for Mature.
Sonic having his modern design in Sonic 4 has to be on this list. That petition that Classic Sonic fans put out back then was downright laughable.

Which eventually led to Sonic Mania, which in fairness was a good game, but let's face facts here, it would've still been good if the characters had coloured irises!

Another thing about the game Bully. It was banned here in Australia for a while. Not because of its content, but because of the name, Bully. Once it was renamed Canis Canem Edit, no problem, it could be sold here. Left a lot of people, me included, thinking wtf? Smh. Some people are just so stupid they don't even realise they are stupid. 7:50 - This one actually just ended recently, in the best way possible. Apple lost and can no longer charge their 30% to companies with their own payment methods, AND Epic had to pay a very large sum of money for circumventing the policy they agreed to. The only "downside" is that games made by Epic are no longer allowed on Apple products (as Apple is very upset at having lost), which I don't mind as I don't play them. Phenomenal.
Honestly, I was actually behind Epic on the lawsuit, DESPITE the fact that Epic themselves are shitty people.

I’m surprised the “Night Trap” controversy didn’t make the list. Congress actually held hearings about the supposed horrific violence towards women…in “Night Trap.” The game where the bad guys are lumbering about in garbage bags and are defeated by falling through holes in the ground and walls. We have ratings on games because of this.
I feel so bad for Hbox, but I'm glad that moment led to a lot of people backing off of the hate for him and he's become a lot happier and more accepted in the community

Marvel's Spiderman: A game so good that the most controversy they generated was the disappearance of a puddle.
This and Miles Morales are the first games I wanna play when I get my PS5 digital version.
I have them both on my PS5, and they're both amazing. Just got every trophy in Miles Morales, and I have two remaining on Spider-Man.
Omg. An issue over a puddle? Don't they realize when making a game, there's going to be some additions upon release that wasn't in demo or pre-gameplay?
Plus, puddles can also be annoying no matter how great your game looks graphically because of the human reflections you have to ensure in them as they walk over it. In order to prevent errors from slipping through, they just made it a bit smaller than usual…and not even that much smaller! It's just a load of crap.
They actually replaced peter's face in the PS5 version. Unlike the puddle, THAT'S a legitimate controversy that isn't stupid. Okay, it's still stupid, but it makes more sense than the puddle. We got used to the way Peter looked in the base game.

Personally, I preferred Dinklebot. I thought his dry delivery was appropriate for the character, and I liked the deeper tones. But that was the least of Destiny's problems.

It's funny, yesterday during Sakurai presents I was mildly upset that Sora's hair didn't change with his costumes but like... it's such a teeny tiny thing that it doesn't matter
Fact Bully was supposed to have a Haunted Paper Mill, but it was cut from the game, but you can still here dialogue relating to the Haunted Paper Mill in game.
I thought the issue with Jax's ending in MK11 was that they made the character's race part of his story like every other black character in every other property ever, which I get. Even I wish to see things about black people not just be about black struggles as though it is all we have as stories. That said, the ending was fine logically. I think if most black people had that power, they would do the same. I think there was also something about the ending having no non-black characters visibly shown, but still a minor detail to me.
I think the Hao Infinite fruit thing was about the technology appearing as less advanced than older games. Same thing with CP2077 with how the AI just crouches when shots are heard, yet GTA5, a game 7 years older on previous gen consoles, have characters react much more diversely.
Buttgate could be tied to both Overwatch's Tracer and Street Fighter 5's R. Mika. Having to change them was dumb, but while I admit to getting annoyed with Mika's change, they weren't a big deal. I found Mika's change to be weird, like a character flipping you off, but the hand is offscreen. Cammy's change made some sense, as it was just a needless camera shot.
Mass Effect hasn't had full nudity until Andromeda. To me, if you can't see it, it's not full nudity. Implication don't count. This is when I first stopped giving a shit about Fox News. They even said you can control the sex, which is false, and you have to play a certain way to get there. Also, isn't the game M rated?
I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment on the Jax topic. People liked seeing him as more than "just the black guy", which unfortunately his ending made him out to be. Had the ending been more about him talking about his duty to serve and protect his fellow men (connecting to his military backstory) with a flash of the slave trade, it would have better connected to his character while addressing his desire to right the injustices of the past. It also would have gotten rid of that awful line of him not waiting for people to get woke.
As a black man myself I would totally stop slavery like he did and make and ideal word like he did. But the main problem of the ending is the context around it. He recently just lost his wife and is constantly fear of his daughter suffering like he did and he nearly killed his daughter and is trying make amends. So him getting this god like power and thinking let's just stop slavery was a weird thing.
PETA complained about Mario's Tanooki suit and Pokemon, why should that other game be any different? I refuse to listen to them if the ASPCA isn't involved.

14:54 WRONG!!!! This WHOLE segment is wrong. First off, it was during closed beta, not release. Secondly, it wasn't a "handful of people" it was literally ONE guy who made a post on the forums complaining about his daughter idolizing Tracer and that this pose came off too sexualizing for her:
“What about this pose has anything to do with the character you’re building in tracer? It’s not fun, its not silly, it has nothing to do with being a fast elite killer. It just reduces tracer to another bland female sex symbol.”
“We aren’t looking at a Widowmaker pose here, this isn’t a character who is in part defined by flaunting her sexuality. No one said it was offensive honestly watchmojo completely got it all wrong to unsell what people actually said about it. No one had a problem that Jax ended slavery, people had a problem that it felt completely random and like the devs were trying to earn brownie points. Nothing about Jax's character was defined about him being black or facing hardships because he was black. So him deciding out of nowhere hey I'm going to end slavery when in complete honest in the context of the game and his story it was totally out of nowhere and kinda out of character for him to do.

#11 should be #1 if only because those offended by ending slavery and racism are monsters and deserve to be called out for it unlike any of the other controversies on this list. Jax even says "The world is a better place for everyone."

Stubbs the Zombie, an M-rated game, is *"offensive and dangerous to children?"* Gee, I thought all media was scrutinized by this little thing called a *rating system* and for video games, we have the ESRB (I don't fault parents for not knowing about it though, it's *only* been around since 1994.) All joking aside, I don't know what it is about some parents and their complete inability to see a big bold letter against a white background, but I'm going to assume the people (presumably "concerned parents" & Jack Thompson wannabes) complaining about the "offensiveness" of Stubbs the Zombie (or any M-rated game for that matter) are the type of parents who buy games for their kids and don't even bother reading the rating beforehand. If you wouldn't let your kids watch R-rated movies, why should M-rated games be any different? *Mature-rated games* are rated *"Mature"* for a reason.
