I bought this shifter from CJ pony parts and I I stalled everything (several times). Kept finding that no matter what I did the shifter rested to the left and down a bit preventing me from being able to shift into 1st. I tried everything possible. I did research for a couple days straight and found an old Reddit post from someone saying the black ball with the arm coming out (blanking on the name) was put together upside down for him. Sure enough when I check mine that's exactly what it was. I tried unscrewing the setting pin inside but they must have had some insane locktight or something because I could not get it out. So I call the manufacturer and they said to call cj's since I bought it through them. The lady was nice told me yeah just send us some pictures, I'll email you for the warranty, it'll take about a month for us to send it out ( end of October 2021). Mid November comes and did not receive any info about the replacement. Tried calling multiple times with too long of holds to be able to speak with anyone, chose the option to be called back twice and never heard back. So I said fuck it and now I wasted over $200 on this part. Also took it to O'Reilly's to see if they could get the screw out and they stripped the hell out of it.
Go to oreillys a figgerent store and have them prder it for you its a special order amd they can get it for you once you get it go home install it whatever you'd like get the old one thats broken take it back and say you want a refund ir didn't work it sat too far to the left and you ended up getting a different one from a buddy
Same.. everywhere I see says reverse lockout but any time I install it I can't go near 1st and second because the reverse lockout blocks it. Fuck my life
If you have transmission problems you should take all of this off before taking it in they can void a warranty repair as soon as they see a reason why a component failed. If they were unrelated like blowing a head gasket while having a short shifter it should not void your warranty. But if your synchros are fried and the dealer sees a shift plate ford might not cover it.
A lot of people do that since the RS one is open and the ST one is just a closed black box. Me? I hate mismatch badging, and spending $100 on something stupid like that (that’s how much the dealership charges for the RS air box; no kidding). So I did the smart thing, got on eBay and found a nice ST designed piece for cheap, so now I have the slightly opened box with nice ST badging.

Just test drove a ST3 a few days ago. Stock shifter felt good enough to me.
