    I drive one of these in the army, its called a LMTV (light medium tactical vehicle) thrse trucks are a work horse, you can take them about anywhere, you can deflate this tires from inside the cab to either drive across sand or lower the height of the truck. I absolutely love these trucks, there is no terrain these trucks cant handle 🇺🇲

    Yay! A real office chair! This is the first build I've seen that has a real office chair.
    I love this layout. It's very stark -- but it works -- and feels very sane & practical. However, if I had my wiring under my desk like that, with no protection, I would be snagging my feet on the wires all the time & likely pulling them out.

    • @opk3148jj
      @opk3148jj ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. The whole thing works, but that was the one thing I didn't love about this build was the under-the-desk wiring. I've seen a couple others where people hid/plant them inside their thick shower/back walls haha.

      @RevdUp.Art.Fotografer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh ya, I'd have to do something about the cables & cords too. I'm a bit too hyper and my feet would muck with them.
      I would need a bigger fridge, at least a dorm size. another burner, & maybe another Ikea cupboard box. LOL.

    Its a nice setup, i would only recommend maybe a coupe tweaks just to make it a little easier to live in.
    If you're a tosser when you sleep, youre likely to accidentally kick the monitor and break it; maybe find a way to keep the monitors below the mattress and out of the way?
    And maybe make a basic drain pump system that is built into the shower so you can just flip a switch and it pumps to the grey tank. Minor things that would go a long way in the long run, thats all.

    The one thing I own that I love the most is my small standing desk and office chair, and always thought I 'd like to have it in my future tiny home. It's amazing to see you have it in your tiny mobile home. You could even add some cushions on top of the water tanks in the back under the bed to make a tiny couch. Very nice practical build

    I literally just found this truck for sale today...auction is at $10300 on 10/5/2023. I just googled Stewart and Stevenson for sale and it came up. Listing says there is only 17,000 miles on it so doesn't seem like this guy traveled that much in it. I would put the link but I don't know if TH-cam would delete the comment thinking it's spam.

    Good build! I appreciate a guy who's all about utility rather than just aesthetic. Although, I didn't initially love the amount of space the motorbike took up, I dig his unique solution with the bed lift. Saves a lot of space even if he just put it in to watch movies on his PC screen haha. Wonder how hard it is to fix the lift on his own though if it goes out.

    I was tempted to buy the LMTVs to convert to an offroad camper. They look cool. Reliability and fuel economy concerns have always been the roadblock. The 5 tons or 2.5 tons are good alternatives since they have been in military service for much longer.

  • @Soulessdeeds
    @Soulessdeeds ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Friendly tip to anyone thinking of buying one of these. The flat sides of the truck makes a great projector screen for watching movies or playing console games. I took a projector with me through all 3 of my Iraq tours. And some guys saw myself and the other mechanics playing Rock Band using my projector and Xbox. And shooting it onto the side of a LMTV truck. Next thing I hear they have one of their own and took it with them as they traveled from FOB to FOB.

  • @hughsonj

    I know of someone who took the LMTV chassis and removed everything from the bed and placed a mini camper on it. I've slept in the back of one of these back in my Army days, and even with nothing but a sleeping bag they make good shelters.

    The reason your tires are not lasting long is because if you go over 55 MPH on that tire (for the S&S military trucks) they will heat up and slowly melt.
    Keep it around 50 and the tires will last a shockingly long time, like years long.

    For one thing the tires weren’t as big as his and you could swap out the tube type split ring military wheels for tubeless either steel or aluminum rims to hold 1100r 20 ‘s in either a luggers or highway treads and like this guy regear the differentials
