@@SewYeah Yes I agree on not too much talking. Some instructors drag and draw out nonsense details. I turn them off. Give me Jordan Fabrics and Missouri Star Quilt Company to name a few. Now I've discovered Sew Yeah. YEAH!
The card trick is one of my favorite blocks and I love this method! So much easier and less confusing than making all those half and quarter-square triangles.
Zach I wish I'd known you two weeks ago! you have such an easy awesome method here. I shall finish the one I am doing but my next one is going to be from your pattern and directions. No wasted chatter, just straight forward instructions, and 'stand-up' sewing at that!! Thankyou. I will be back! (I like your hair better here too!)
I caught something on here. I thought something didn't look right when I got a block half done. Lol. You did do great, didn't drag things out and you stayed focused. Great job. Thank you much.
The written pattern is correct I think, but in the video he sewed his block incorrectly. He corrected his block and he never mentioned that he did it. I was making my block along with the video and couldn't figure out why my final strip didn't match up like his did. I finally watched and watched the video and discovered that the way he said to sew the first strips A/B to C/D was incorrect on the video.

I love this pattern! I would however love in the pattern release to show what size it makes, and maybe even alternative sizes. Thank you for showing me this easy way
Have had this on my to do list. This method looks the simplest by far. Now just to figure out which fabric 🤔 Gotta say you’re doing a great job with the presentation in your tutorials. Thank You Zach!
I just found your channel and love your teaching style. This is going to be perfect to use to teach my friend to sew patchwork quilts. Thank you so much.
Nicely done. This is a quilt block I've been wanting to make but you showed how to do it in the easiest way possible. Thanks for the pattern! A fan from Northern Nevada!

This looks like an awesome way to make this block, I tried this many, many years ago and decided it was just too much for me but I will give this a try. Thanks, Zach!
thanks, waiting for the pattern with measurements for this. Have planned on this block in December for our guild BOM, this is easier than the other one we had planned to use, and gratefully it is the right size block ... 12.5 / 12inch block finished.
HI I just am questioning yardage for the squares. He asked for a 1/3 yard but I had gotten 1/2 yard. A 1/2 doesn't made it when you had to cut 2 -- 3 1/2 strips and then 2 --6 inch strips. That adds up to 19 inches just over 1/2 yard. Check it out before buying material. My half yard was not generous at all so by the time I squared it off I was short less than 1 inch. Back to store. But I have been working on this and it is going together so easy. Thank you.
So glad you liked it! Sorry you were having trouble access the video. We will try to get it resolved as soon as possible. Thanks so much for watching! You can text TRADE to 833-351-0814 to receive notifications about our live TH-cam events and to receive special offers! Hope to see you again soon!
Thanks for the simplified card trick block. I tried to get the pattern on Aug 25, 2022 butaI guess it's no longer available on the web Appreciate you sharing your skills.
Hello! Zach is using a Martelli Rotary Cutter in this video. You can get them on our website here: sewyeahquilting.com/search?type=product&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&options%5Bunavailable_products%5D=show&q=rotary+cutter+martelli Thanks so much for watching!
Did anyone else notice that he switch out his base 4-patch between the 3 min and 4 min marks? When you attach you first pair of strips, you need to make sure that you are matching 2 fabrics ON THE DIAGONAL in the 4-patch. If you look at the block prior to 3min, the green and gray are next to each other, by adding the green and gray strips, there is no fabric that could be added on the adjacent side. That probably is hard to understand. @Sew Yeah -- everyone makes mistakes... but if your goal is to TEACH people, you should either be upfront, admit the mistake on camera and explain what went wrong, OR trash the bad footage and start from scratch. If someone tries to make this by following along and doesn't notice the swap, they are going to be really unhappy -- and I wouldn't blame them.
There is an error in the printed pattern. It says to square the completed blocks to 12” but in the video, you square to 12-1/2” which is the correct size. Unfortunately, I was going according to the printed pattern and mine are all too small.. 😢
