    I had the Thrustmaster 458 Spider which was a great first wheel for me. For Forza 6, I used the the lowest sensitivity (4 light flashes) which allowed me to have the most control over the cars, anything less then that felt to twitchy. I have since upgraded to the Logitech G920, which I'm enjoying, not sure how the force feedback compares to the other wheels because I haven't tried them. But so far it is serving me well. It's awesome being able to also use it on PC for DIRT Rally!

    I'm happy with my TX Leather + T3PA. It's my first wheel so cannot really compare it with other models, but after changing some settings to personal preferences the wheel feels really nice.

    Happy new year lads. Ended up selling my G27 at xmas and treated myself to a Thrustmaster TX + T3A pedals and an XB1. TX is such an amazing wheel ! On PC its awesome too ! Not had any problems with mine yet (touch wood).

      Ive used this wheel in The Crew, Project Cars, Need For Speed (2016) and soon will use it in Forza Horizon 3 and so far i have 0 Problems at all its great and to answer the question specifically Yes its very smooth infact thats one of my favorite things to do with this wheel to just smoothly turn corners in car games.
      Hope this helps :D

    Useful video. i bought the TX when project cars came out. A really good wheel. Shame I didn't know about the Fantatec wheel being cross platform. I might have been convinced to spend more for that for the cross platform support. I have a PS4 as well and that would have opened up the ability to buy racing games on that console as well. An option that might be more enticing when Sony's VR is released and it becomes compatible with racing games. Ultimate immersion!

    Darin, if you have the Turtle Beach Elite 800X headsets (wireless headset). You do Xbox Live chat wireless. Plus the headset has Bluetooth & can connect to 2 devices at once. I connect it to both my cell phone & tablet. Which comes in handy when playing Project CARS & you're using that Crew Chief for Project CARS app.

    TX owner and happy with it. There was no Logitech option back in the day, otherwise I would have bought it because I heard so many complains about TX failures that I got scared to buy one (hell, I'm scared to this day to do a firmware update). Anyway, I originally bought it to play Forza 5, I had no PC back then and no other use for it. Being afraid of buying a wheel that would fail considering I dont have warranty/support overseas (I'm in Brazil), I ended up buying a used one that was proven to be working for sometime. On the plus side I saved a few bucks and even got a T500RS pedal set as the previous owner upgraded to all Fanatec gear. Time went on and so did my gaming, I first upgraded to a GTE rim, which made a HUGE difference from the stock POS rim. I also prefer the all-round design, it feels a lil bigger and less toy-like. I then bought the TH8A shifter, which was a nice addition, but if it depended on Forza alone, not sure I would buy it again because as cool as the shifter may be, it just doesn't feel real even with the hardest spring setting (guess i the clunk in feel that goes along with a hard clutch), contributing to the feel of not driving a full manual is the non-responsive soft clutch on the T500RS (dont think any of the available pedals do have some sort of feedback on the clutch, nor do games provide it in code) really miss that "clunk feeling", so I'm not crazy about it. I did, however, ended up using the shifter on 90 degree angle as a Handbrake when I finally bought a PC for gaming (it has this built in function with software adjustment) and with this function the th8a really compensates for its cost, it's just too bad that the handbrake doesnt work on the Xbox one, just on the PC. Now, about a year later, I bought a PC and also started playing DiRT Rally, which I must say, made me nearly forget about Forza. I moved on to a 3 monitor setup on the PC and I must say I am very happy with my wheel and overall setup. I have a wheel that is fully compatible with the xb1 and also all the addons work on the console (except for alternate handbrake function of th8a) but also fully works with the PC. I only have one complaint for this wheel, I am not sure others may have the same issue, but mine has a bit of play back and forth, it's nothing major as I tend to drive it forcing forward and with the GTE rim I really feel it less than when I had the stock plastic rim, but I would say check this out before you buy it. Right now, after the mods, I'm very happy with this setup and I do recommend the same for anyone with the stock rim, please get the GTE, it makes a whole lot of difference.

    I can say that MadCatz/Tritton have EXCELLENT customer service, at least with their headphones. I contacted them about my broken headphone cable, which I told them I tripped on and they still sent a new one anyways. Then they replaced my microphones for both of my headsets. Yes, I have two 720+ trittons. On the wheel, I would still look elsewhere. It never caught on, which is a shame since their old wheels were really good for the price and the tech.

    Yep. TX wheel crushes. Brushless motor belt system makes for nice smooth ffb. $295. Can't beat this wheel unless you wanna spend over $1,000 on Fanatec.

  • @MessiHair
    @MessiHair 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have the 458 Spider and it took time to "feel" the car and road as well as the grip. It sucks for forza even with the sensitivity adjuster which i feel sucks but for project cars it runs great for me i don't need to adjust the wheel. I really wish i had more money to try out a better wheel because the table clamp still made the table wobble so i had 20 pounds hold it steady and i had another 10 pounds hold down the petals by resting them where you'd normally rest your feet and I felt cramped because the wheel was to close and the table didnt allow me to have enough space for comfort for the petals. Plus i really mean you have to practcing the feel with every car you choose (Road,GT3,LMP1,LMP2,F1,F2,F3,Classic Formula, Classic GT,etc...) try doing that while learning the feel of a track in rain while crowded with others. Point is yeah its okay because its the cheapest and is fun when you get it down but you may have trouble.

    My TX wheel broke after a week of having the thing. I know people that are on their 3rd or 4th TX wheel because they keep breaking (lucky there is a warranty and they will send you a replacement). Then there are some people that got lucky and got a wheel that hasn't broken. If I could go back or get my money back I would switch to the Logitech in a heart beat. I have never had a Logitech product break.

      +MechHead Naga GMG Depending where you are -- I initially got my S13/SR20 for $2750, which is more engine than you need to start. Looking hard, you can get one with a straight frame and running KA for ~$1500. Weld the diff, put on nice front tires, drift about six events. Then look into suspension upgrades -- and there are incredibly low cost options. It doesn't get costly unless you swap, and even going KA-T has bolt-on kits (watch Drift Garage S1), and is not a bad option, at all.
      You can even get an E46 for pretty cheap these days. There are lots of options. We have people with old Corollas, FB RX7s with 5.0's, etc etc. Go to an event. Talk to drivers.
      For drift sim, Forza ridiculously doesn't allow steering angle mods. Modifying our knuckles is one of the first super-cheap suspension changes we make. Check out rFactor 1. Pretty much any track you can imagine, online tandems going all the time, and not a resource hog -- you can run it off an old PC. Not as pretty, but it well makes up the difference. And, you can run triple monitors. Oooooh :D

    • @Chuzado_117
      @Chuzado_117 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      alright... so you'd spend 3 grand on a video game when you could've used that on a real car instead even if it's not a real drift car I'd rather have the real car

    +Inside Sim Racing The Madcatz wheel has a 1 Year warranty, and they are backordered at the moment until the end of January, meaning that people wont have their wheel until then. Also, it is not an entry level wheel by any means, it is a well built wheel with cusomizable features that no other wheel can offer at the moment such as: Throttle and brake stiffness can be adjusted, and the angle that the wheel sits can be adjusted as well, plus the reliable force feedback. I don't think you give this wheel as much credit as you could, you reviewed it when the only available game to use it with was Forza 5. I suggest if you get the firmware update and/or buy a wheel after the backorder you should review it again and base your opinion on how it feels in games, now that there are a handfull of racing releases on the One. It could be cheaper, but it is a little too much to say you should scratch it off the list for wheels. It would make my day if you could give the wheel a second chance. Thanks.

      +Cough Cough We have one here and based on their broken promises of new rims and a PC driver, it's not a very viable option compared to the competition. We still feel that it's over priced for what you get. Also just looked for pre-order and or back order status at their site and Amazon and we didn't see anything. Under $300 or even close to $200 is what we feel this wheel should be priced at.

      @DVDFerrari5 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well thanks for replying and further explaining. I understand where you guys stand about it, but I've called Madcatz multiple times, and they're making a mass quantity of wheels, which all should be at a cheaper price considering the amount of sale's they'll have to push. Hopefully when they're back on their feet again they'll consider either making a different model for Xbox one and PC, or start to introduce new rims. Thanks again for making a great video.

    I got the ferrari 458 Thrustmaster and I loved it for the first couple of months and loved it a lot, but now the steering is stuttering... Pretty pissed about that tbh.
    It was so nice at first.

      +Cetric Anderson Did we recommend the Spider ? It's a Thrustmaster wheel. We also had good things to say about Fanatec and Logitech in this video. Maybe you didn't watch all the way through. Also you should read the comments from the public here in this video about the TX.

    I have the 458 spider and its not as bad as people say, you just have to fool around with the sensitivity and dead zones a little bit. Once you get the settings your comfortable with its actually pretty good. But man really want to upgrade to the TX but the thing is $449 in Canada right now. God dammit, i wish our dollar wasn't such crap right now.

    What would you recommend if you have already have a Xbox 360 Fanatec setup with CSP v1 and shifter? Would you still recommend Thrustmaster or the Fanatec ClubSport Wheel Base V2 + CSL wheel? They both would be $740. I wonder what do you get with the Fanatec that you don't get with Thrustmaster? Is it just build quality?

    Can someone help me? Every so often I'll notice like some white dust or some sort of shavings behind the wheel I guess it's called the steering column where the screws are between the base and the wheel. And how to tighten up the wheel itself because it feels shaky and a bit loose/wobbly.

    • @robertt9342
      @robertt9342 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greg Mayled . Right, but it's still a decent upgrade above just using a controller and for mod that's all they need. If you'd think you would want a wheel with force feedback, then I'd avoid the Spider too. It's not garbage , just limited. I have hard time spending that kind of money on it, I'll get myself a used one on for cheap, but that would I still require someone to buy it and either move on or up and sell the spider.
      Although it would be nice for more people to go out and spending money on a FF wheel and then flood the used market with them once many of them found out they just didn't care for it.
