Great Review! As you may know, Mr. Basher is working on an adapter for connecting the Fanatec pedals sets with the TX wheel. That will bring the console racing to a whole new level! Hopefully you can get a hold of it and do a review. Also I hope that Thomas is going to come up with a new wheel for the Xbox One some time in the next 10 years...

Im new to sim racing, I've never even used a steering wheel for a game before. So I have been watching a lot of these videos trying to find a wheel to start with. Just ordered a g27. Cant wait!!
Great review, been looking to upgrade from the 458 spider wheel from thrustmaster and am looking at this specific wheel to use on both pc and xbox
It's a very good wheel for it's price. I enjoy it every moment with my X-Motor Racing Pro.
I have the original 458 italia wheel for the 360 and it only has the bungee cord system inside no vibration but there was the a cockpit version which you covered that had vibration
Thanks for this review. I have become an avid fan of Forza 5 (got xbox1 3 months back), still playing on pad and felt its time to progress. Was half considering the cheap non FFeedback version but this video has totally sold me on the TX! If my budget stretched further I would consider the wheel and pedal upgrades you suggest (or even the mad catz wheel instead) but for now this should suffice :D Also planning on getting the playseat challenge following your review, seems perfect for me! Limited room space (and ocd girlfriend with limited patience for clutter!)
You're coverage of Horizon 2 is also the reason I decided to get it at launch, should be real fun and something else to use my wheel for! I may get into PC sims at some stage but only have a dated laptop for now so no go :'(

Really enjoy these videos and you are very genuine, informative and clearly love what your doing, so many tryhards and elitists in gaming "media" these days. It'd be cheaper if you don't have to pay for Ferrari badge. Can't they just make a wheel without Ferrari license?
they will in the future with the same rim as the one on the wheels they had at E3

Hey Darin, totally appreciate your reviews on these peripherals and games. I was interested if you've got an opinion on how the TX wheel compares, functionality and feel wise, against the Fanatec CSB V2.
Lol this video turned my Xbox One on @ 6:44. I had to rewind and check it, but yup happens every time. Very good review btw, I've been waiting for a solid review of this wheel since I just can't drive with a pad no matter how good it is. It's not a perfect situation to have to buy a good set of pedals, but much better than just a pad.
I've been trying to get a setup for both pc & X1, but man it's taking work so early on the systems lifetime.
How easy does it mount to a regular table or desk? Would you be able to show in a video sometime. It says in the description that it is compatible with all desks and tables. I am just worried it might not mount correctly.

That brushless motor is probably why it is performing so well in comparison to the T500 and other wheels in its price range. Brushless motors are AMAZING in comparison to some of the old Mabuchi 540-550 motors like in most sim racing wheels on the market.
I got the f430 and the buttons fail after a moth or so. I hope you guys use this wheel a lot to see the quality and resistance and then do a follow up review.
I am thinking about buying this wheel but I have seen numerous reviews of this week burning out after just a month. How often have you heard this on your forums and what do you think? I know there have been many others who have had great luck with the wheel with tons of hours of game time but since you run high end simulator setups and use them all the time what is your overall opinion and what have you seen the community's opinion to be on the reliability of the wheel? I have also seen videos over mods for the wheel to place bigger fans on the wheel to keep it cool. Is overheating an issue?
I have the Edison glass desk (L shape) and have ordered this setup. I don't have much in the way of extra cash for awhile, is there any way to properly secure on the desk?

I would have liked more detail on the 3 pedal set, such as how does the conical rubber thingummy feel. Is it better than t500 with BB mod? Will you review those separately?
Forza 5 was so full of glitches and bugs I went to Forza 6. I use a controller and it was just horrific. Forza 6, however, kicked butt. Great vid, informative, clear and concise, you have a new sub, thank you.
One thing you didn't mention Darin, the fan seems quite active on the new TX compared with the T500 ? even on moderate FFB settings ? and it is noisy compared to my V3 T500 when that fan is going.

If you turn the wheel all the way to lock at full speed in Forza 5, will the front tires turn to lock and skid like in real life or does it just turn inside what it thinks it can handle, like the cheaper spider wheel?
im wondering if you have the latest firmware because i got my TX on friday and it feels worse then no powersteering on forza 5 and it came with the latest firmware. also, how do you turn down the settings for xbox one? and, any recommendations for feedback settings through the control panel and is there any way to transfer those settings to the xbox?
Does the TH8A Shifter work the TX Base + T3PA Pedals on the Xbox One? Or do you have to use the paddle shifters?

So i just picked this wheel up on second hand yesterday evening im having som issues getting it to fire on pc is there a special conection i need or is it a standard usb for xbox and pc ? Asking cuz i notice that the usb is removable? I dk if you guys are still proxucing the show but id take any advice from any subscriber

Hi guyz ! i would like to know if you have the same bad sensation as me with the rendering of the belt (i think).
it's like I felt light rubber notches when I slowly turn the wheel; like i felt each tooth of the belt; it's pretty embarrassing during nascar races.
is it normal ? It's the same on T300RS ?

I've just bought a TX, do I have to update the data (to V48) if I'm only going to use it for Xbox One of the time being?
Do you have any recommended settings for sensitivity or force feedback for the tx wheel on xbox 1. I've been using mine a few weeks now and it is almost impossible to recover once the ass end of the car kicks out which is making it less than realistic for me.Thanks
Inside Sim Racing on thrustmasters site it says its compatible with the th8 shifter is that the same as th8 rs which is the only thing i can find..if so is it only compatible with pc or can the shifter set be used with the xbox one as well?
Great review :) I assume the T500RS is still a bit better than the TX/T300 or(especially the Pedals..)? The T500RS is a bit cheaper here in Germany...
Does the base have clamps, or something to put on a desk like the G27? I don't want to have to buy a wheelstand.
Inside Sim Racing This wheel is incredibly expensive in Australia ($699 at jbhifi). Have you tried the cheaper TM wheel for xbox one? Of course it won't be as good but is it at least as good as the old M$ wheel?
Does the clutch of the t500 pedals works when plugled into a TX or T300 Base?
What usb is the wheel ? Or what does it use to connect to pc and Xbox one ?
And how many add on can you put on it not including the different wheels you can put on it what I mean is can you put both a shifter and pedals ?

it s nice that they have adds ons if you could find them anywhere i havent found one store there sell the add on pedals or shifter.
and 1 little thing you dont say that you have to update the firmware before you can use it on the xbox why shut that be, on pc i understand but on xbox that is made for, it shut be done aotu when connectet to xbox

With some of the major titles moving to Linux (via Steam and the like) do you know whether this and the other Trustmaster wheels are compatible with Linux? I know that the Logitech ones are...
Would the TX wheel be suitable for use with the Playseat challenge? Have you heard if they are doing a Stand alone TX Base or in any other rims and pedal packages?

Hey Darin (or someone else?), I'm not sure if you are allowed to speak on the subject, but have you guys had any servo failures with the TX? I have read MANY forums and there really seems to be a ton of failures. It almost seems as bad as the old Xbox 360 RRoD, haha. I just grabbed one and updated the firmware and the fan seems to be staying on fairly steady after racing for a while but throttles back down on menus. I am hoping maybe they bumped up the cooling to keep them from failing? I really don't want to keep this if it will fail in the near (or distant) future. Thanks in advance!
I watched another video of this on youtube and the reviewer wasn't to happy about there being a big deadzone. Is this the case for all the tx458 italia racing wheels?
Hey guys I got the Ferrari 458 spider racing wheel for the xbox one and it keeps doing this thing when I leave the wheel straight it turns right it has happened on two different wheels now would you know what the problem is

I now own both the T500RS Ferrari F1 itegral, and the TX458 Italia
And i have seen you guys using the T500RS pedals together With the TX Wheel ( uses the same cabel aswell) is this possible only With PC games. Or does it work With Forza 5 aswell. I have tried myself, but cannot get them to work together. Do i need to update them or what? :)

whiplash1111 You can use all the different Thrustmaster add ons on the XBox One with this base. Two pedal sets are available that have a clutch as well. T3PA and T3PA-Pro
I have an Xbox One. I also have a Fanatec CSR, Clubsport Pedals, and the CSR Shifter. Is it worth getting rid of the wheel for the TX1 or wait for Fanatec's New wheel? I know they are working on a wheel that will work with all systems and all the old peripherals. You guys have any thoughts? Nice video. Don't really trust Thrustmaster after the 458 Bungie Wheel. If I had the money, for PC I would go with this base, the Ferrari GT-E rim, Clubsport Elite pedals with the inversion and DSD Tilton pedals, and a DSD shifter (maybe a Fanatec SQ) and some sort of button box setup. I would like to see more wheels like this that are between the CSR and T500RS level now that the CSR elite wheel is discontinued, but as a full Wheel/pedal/shifter combo for $500. Logy G29 might be an answer if they make it.

Can you confirm if this wheel has had any of the problems that are widely reported from it? Lots of bad reviews on Amazon saying it has stopped working.
+Robert Bilodeau I just got it, I absolutely Love it. Although the Wheel it comes with is pretty bad. But just buy a GTE/F1 wheel addon and you'll have an amazing setup. I personally don't bother getting a 3 pedal with clutch addon. Because I enjoy F1 cars, and F1 cars in real life have an automatic clutch.
I've heard the motor itself though, just the force feedback part is the most realistic feeling of any wheel so far. So that's what your paying for. Ive used the logitech g27 before. It's nice but the force feedback on the TX Italia is just so much better. It's amazing.
At the end of the day though, All those faulty ones with issues were reported a long time ago. People Care alot more about reporting a bad experience than they care about reporting a good one. Not to mention all the 1 star reviews just for getting a DOA. That's just unfair. Also, the customer support has always been great with thrustmaster, Don't believe those people claiming it's shit.

+Joshua Castillo I think all of those issues have been resolved by firmware updates. I've had it for over a year and it's worked fine with Forza 6 and Project cars with heavy FFB. Just make sure to get the firmware update from their website before you start playing with it
i bought an tx 5 months ago. i loved it. so accurate, but it litterly just stopt working 2 weeks ago. so i send it back to the webshop i got it from, and it was indeed confirmed by them that it was broken beyond repair.. now ordered a t500rs with the warranty and ofc a bit extra, i heard they are reliable as an old benz . tx and t300 have big overheating problems

Excellent video, liked and subscribed. Is there any new and better wheel/pedal package for the XB1 since you did this review and is there anything coming up that you know of as I would rather hold off buying if something better is available or just around the corner ( for Forza 6 ). Cheers.
Kevin Kleijn I would say this is the best at this price point and then you have the option of the Fanatec CSW V2 with XBox One hub. That setup with pedals will run you about $1200 though

I just wish it came with a clamp like the old 360 wheel had, because I built a stand for that one. And don't want to pay extra for a stand for the TX. Can I just use a screw to attach it to the stand I made? If so does anyone know what diameter it would need to be?
