just bought another ps3 yesterday while they are super cheap, i own two now and im gonna start collecting physical games again....
I’ve been rocking the PS3 since the day it came out and still love it! Medal of honor,Need for Speed, Grand Turismo, Ratchet and Clank, Sack Boy, are a few reasons why. Love my Fat PS3!

Let me tell you all something! Playing GTA 4 on PS3 with the Expansion DLC's on a Big 4K TV hits differently! Give it a try! I'm a PS5 owner also.

@@emi777 Depends what you are into really, I have just started playing thief, ive had it for years but not played it until now, uncharted series, folklore, South Park RPG, bio shock series, ki no kuni wrath of the white witch, dark souls, demon souls, kill zone, splinter cell hd collection, ducktails remastered, the godfather, puppeteer, main and the forsaken kingdom, too many to list.
I use a Panasonic ZT65 plasma with 3D which is awesome, if you got a 3D tv there's loads for the PS3.
@@Electrotat there’s is so many games, no no kuni has been on my steam wish list forever now but i feel that i would enjoy playing it on my ps3 so much more. Also i loved the splinter cell games back in my ps2 days i’m definitely going to take a look thanks again
@@emi777 I got all the splinter cell games on my xbox 360, different experience on the PS3, another one is need for speed hot pursuit, I first played that on my 360, then bought it for the PS3 and its a lot harder, bought that for my PS4 too as it has cross play and works on the PS5, PS5 is disappointing in my opinion, same old games remastered, nothing much has caught my eye on it yet although I did like Chernobylite, that is an awesome game I completed.
Lots out there for the PS3 at really cheap prices, ive yet to get the silent hill HD collection to add to my games 👍🏼

You can use your PS5 controller on the PS3, also all PS3s can play PS1 games
If you own a ps3 and a ps5 you can play every PlayStation game ever
Specifically the fat ps3 with 4 ports, that can play ps1 & 2 games
However any PS3 can play PS1 games

I got my PS3 Slim used 10 years ago from EB Games. Still going great today. I use it every weekend. Best thing is the Slim will play PS1 games, that's where my nostalgia is. So I have a few PS1 games for it too.
There's something about those Dualshock 3 controllers. They're super comfortable to use
There’s a few ps1 games i really enjoyed playing. I think there was a harry potter one that i struggled with a lot for some reason but that would be a fun one to revisit.
I just bought a backwards compatible ps3 yesterday to upgrade my graphics on my ps2 games 🤣
Once a year I clean out the dust.

Just bought the PS3 Scarlet red console Japan exclusive for under 200$ on eBay
I'm currently playing the Simpsons hit and run on the ps2 which was my first console. I played many hours on that game and enjoying it just as much as i did as a kid. The days when i didn't have a memory card so I dont think I ever made it past level 4 😅 i can't wait to complete the game at the ripe old agd of 27 🤣 i will make child me proud
Great video! I am a firm believer of anything old school, especially video games. I used to care of the next gen graphics, etc., but if its not fun, then why bother. If an old game or console is still fun to play, then that's all it matters! Glad there's a huge community that supports retro games and consoles in 2024! Thanks for this!

I just played through metal gear rising Revengeance the other day. So satisfying. Probably the best hackem, slashem ever made. I do want to try Stellar Blade, but I'm going to wait for a price drop.
i remember when that game came out i loved just the whole look and feel this one takes me back that would be such a fun one to pick up

My favorite part about the PS3 is definitely the backwards compatibility not to mention that it's also region free you can play Japanese games on it with no problem I mainly play fighting games and also racing games in Japanese put some Japanese games have English subtitles which is a bonus PS3 is definitely underrated system nowadays but it's still definitely fun and you get your bang for your buck I have a big fat boy backwards compatibility PS3 also a white super slim I want to get a slim that's modded next
hell yeah I was in Japan back in april and. i wish i would have bought some more retro consoles and looked for some sort of limited edition ps3 knowing what i know. I agree the ps3 is super overrated but it’s cool to see that. people still love it

Hey bro just lmk that should i consider buying ps3 in 2024 ? Like im a total nostalgia merchant and i wish to play all these games. Ik they can be played on a pc but owning a console is much more than that. Also to mention im from India and the ps3 here costs around 10k to 12k rupees , Which comes around 150 USD.
i think if it’s something you can afford and it won’t set you back then go for it but if you need to wait and save to get the ps3 and games u should wait and save! hope this helps
@@emi777 ya thanks man. Just to let you know, indian parents are always against buying these kinda stuff and it's like a race here. I mean it's so competitive and parents are so worried that even if they can afford these things they wouldn't. And also they consider gaming as a taboo. So ig when I shift from my parents house like after 3-4 years then I will definitely purchase a PS3 because it was always a childhood dream.

You definitely put a lot of emphasis on the last of us when in the ps3 era the quality began with uncharted, ratchet & clank, heavy rain, metal gear solid etc… the last of us yeah was great but these games paced the way for it.
yeah for me it was TLOU because i played on xbox 360 that generation almost exclusively. TLOU was the game that i remember my friends talked about and even bought ps3s for, i agree there’s a stacked back log of exclusives but that one was kind of the hay that broke the camels back

I ordered all parts lasers , cases , ribbon cables all .
And got a matrix infinity ones wotj fmcb .
And i got x6 ps3s slims with hen / cfw and games .

Got series x xbox
Ps5 too
I play ps2 and ps3 mostly
Cant decide whichs betterbut ps3 feels more modren then ps2 .

i tried to get a ps3 recently but i only found scammers,still looking thow i miss uncharted 3 and rpcs3 dnt play uncharted that well even with patchs

I wanted OG ps3 controller and I ended up buying a second ps3 with OG controller for $45. Too many fakes on Ebay.
yeah that’s why i really wanted to get one from a retro store! i’ve also never been a fan of thirds party controllers
Why I bought a PS3 in 2024: because my Super Slim's WiFi and Bluetooth died. And on that model, those components soldered to the motherboard, making a repair expensive and tricky (Be aware of that since you got the Super Slim).
So I just bought another one, a Slim this time, for much less than repairing the Super Slim would cost, plus I was still given 5 years of warranty over it.
Meaning the PS6 will be released and my "new" PS3 will still be in warranty 😂
