I've had my PS3 for 11 years now and I'm still getting games for it. one thing I feel PS3 does better than the 360 is it has more of a variety of RPGs.
I mostly play xbox 360/wii from that generation but mathematically its working out to the point that i may just grab a ps3 because you can get great rpg's for pocket change.
Absolutely. I mean if you're a Tales Of fan that system got a ridiculous amount of them. But Ni No Kuni, Eternal Sonata, 3 Disgaea games, Valkyria Chronicles, 3D Dot Heroes, Nier, Folklore, Hell Persona 5 got a release on it. The thing is a rpg powerhouse.
@@pongchannel. Just recently a few friends of mine have started to give away ps4 games and I'm seeing the games in thrift shops a lot more often. I think now is a really good time and its a great system.
U know no one of my good friends when i was kids still play it so every time i start the ps3 back up i almost burst in tears of the good memorys and things i did and i miss it
Dude, I just got a ps3 and started collecting in the past 6-8 months. so far it is an awesome console, and it's super cheap to get great games for the console!
I skipped out on an entire console generation so the most recent console I have right now is a PS3. It does it all - gaming (physical and digital), movies, streaming, music. Cheap looking as it is, my super slim has been absolutely bulletproof. Definitely a console I will regularly visit for years to come.
We've heard nothing but good things about the Super Slim and it's reliability. If we ever stumble across one in the wild we will definitely be picking it up. Thanks for watching and cheers to the PS3!
PS3 has been the system I've been playing the most during the pandemic. Love just how many games, and how cheap you could buy them for (which is quickly going up in value). I have 2 super slims to hopefully last me the next 20+ years. I agree, its a fun as hell collection to build, and the games are bad ass. My kind of video guys, good work!
Games are cheap for ps3. Ps3 has the best solo superhero games. A lot of gems to pick up for cheap. Thor god of thunder Spiderman classics Captain America Ironman 2 Wolverine Green lantern First 3 batman arkham games Injustice and mortal combat Playstation all stars
PS3 was my first Blu-ray player Bought the 80GB model for MYR1899 (approx. US$450 at the time) It brought me back to gaming too, after stepping away from gaming for a few years
Fun fact: Backwards compatibility was possible because the PS3 had an actual ps2 chip on the board. The 360 was emulating original Xbox games which was a modern miracle at the time considering how much emulator developers struggle to emulate it today.
Bought my first PS3 new in 2015, it was a replacement for my 2005 PS2 that finally gave up, it's a 250GB Super Slim and still works fine today, it never gave me a reason to upgrade to the 4, yesterday I picked up 4 games at a thrift shop for $10, now that's another reason to stick with my old buddy
I wish my 60 gig never yellow ringed. My goal is to get a fully backwards compatible PS3 again. With that being said, I played so many great games, but my nostalgia memories are of buying the PS3 for $700, then going to circuit city and buying a flat screened 720p CRT television with HDMI and playing Resistance Fall Of Man. The crispness absolutely blew me away.
Ya man that sucks. Do you still have it? We might be able to get it working. Probably a capacitor issue. Would be worth trying to recap it and see if we can't get it up and rolling. Dude you dropped some coin for that set up lol. Cheers!
Motorstorm sold me on a PS3. Loved all 3 games in the series. I'm shocked that Sony dropped series like they have. It should be a one of their go to franchises to fill in the arcade racing category.
The PS3 is my favorite Sony console of all time next to the PSP. I'm glad to see a buyer's guide because so many people neglected it for many reasons. I've recently have been spending tons and tons and tons of PSN content like DLC and digital games that are STILL not on Ps4 because I'm afraid of it's store being discontinued, and all my games don't take like 38% of my hard drive like the hungry PS4's are. After quarantine was over I specifically hunted down PS3 games in mid 2020 that aren't on PS4, physically anyway. Mirror's Edge, Binary Domain, Xmen Origins, Ratchet & Clank HD collection, Transformers War for Cybertron, Max Payne 3, Black Ops, Smackdown VS Raw 2011, Unreal Tournament 3 and Lost Planet 2. I have over 200 PS3 games while PS4 is just under 45 and it uses 1 1/5 TB of storage. Seriously, Kingdom Hearts on PS3 takes barely 10 MB but on PS4 takes 80 GB. No thanks, not re completing the entire trophy line up again just because the loading times are KINDA faster.
Great video... I’ve just purchased a ps3 in 2021 and I’m enjoying playing games more than with my PS4 pro!!! Playing twisted metal everyday with my son and time crisis with a gun a piece.. couldn’t get hold of a ps5 but I’m kinda grad I didn’t as I have managed to get a ps3 slim, ps2 slim, wii, a wii u, an Xbox and a load of great games all in mint condition and I still have change! Its changed my opinion with gaming and I’ve become a collector by the looks of things.. love your vids. Thank you 🙏
I bought an 80 gig FAT model. Came with Motorstorm. First games I bought was Orange Box and Unreal Tournament 3. Unreal Tournament 3 and COD World at War were my intro to multi-player shooters. Still my favorite FPS to this day.
Awesome man! Free is always good :). Also, thanks for spinning us on Spotify. Always cool to hear. We actually might be playing live again soon which is nice. Cheers!
Hell yes, I’m having more fun playing through gen 7 games the last few months than I have since I got my PS4 and One X. Go back and play Instincts Predator on 360, the water graphics still haven’t been beaten IMO
So damn easy to get into now too. Games are available and typically way cheap. We'll check that game out. Not much experience with Far Cry. The only one I got into was Blood Dragon which was a spin off. Loved the 80's vibe in that one :). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Yeah, I was going to get a PS3 in spring of 2010 as a high school graduation gift. The slim version had just been released for $299 and they were sold out EVERYWHERE. I was surprised because up until that point I thought that Xbox was the clear front runner. I ended up going with the Xbox 360 elite because it was what was available, a decision I don't regret because I still have it and play it(and have gotten a lot of joy out of it). I ended up getting a PS3 down the line and it's an amazing console as well. I think this was my favorite console generation so far.
Definitely now is the time to grab a PS3 collection, though was probably a bit cheaper a couple of years ago. In 2019 I grabbed a launch edition full backwards compatible PS3 for $40 at Goodwill, fairly clean & no issues.....yet! 🙌🏼 Great Video Guys! 👏🏼
@@GamingOffTheGrid I know your mainly about collecting the physical games and I hear you, but seriously consider hacking a PS3. We have no idea when servers are going to shutdown. This means if you didn't update the games and you want to download from your account then your SOL. Not to mention when you hack it, you gain the ability to play PS2 games. With the PS5 out they may not last for much longer. At least consider upgrading the hard drive to keep as many games and updates on there as you can.
Another thing I love is that you don't have to wait around for the games to install. I started a collection late last year and got the majority of games I always wanted for no more that £4 each(alot of them £1-£2 range). Well worth getting the system! Love the videos, keep saying your prayers and taking your vitamins... Brothers
still have my original PS3 although it died 9 months after getting it back in the day. one day i’ll fix it up for now i’ll use my silver ps2 slim to play both ps1 and ps2 games. great video as usual can’t wait for the next video
I've had my ps3 since 2010 and I love it. I was a 360 kid back then but since about 2019 I've been a PlayStation guy and while I'm not a fan of the ps3 controller due to the batteries going on them, it's a relatively easy fix since it's just Philips head screws on the back. Also something I've noticed on the ps3 controller, I'm getting a bit of stick drift. But other then that I love my console to death and plan to stream it here soon. Thanks guys love the vids!
I got the original design PS3 in 2008, but refurbished w/no box & manual from GameStop. Because, it was so difficult to find the first PS3 that was backwards compatible w/both PS2, and PS1 brand new. Sony removed the PS2 backwards compatibility. What’s interesting, a former co worker left the company and left behind an original PS 3 box w/the inserts and manual. As the admin assistant was about to clean out his desk, I asked if I can have it. So she gave it to me.
You guys should try Heavenly Sword - it's by Ninja Theory and stars Anna Torv and Andy Serkis plus the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat features Kratos as an exclusive guest character
Sounds good man. Thanks for the recommendations. We will keep a look out for Heavenly Sword. I'm pretty sure we picked up Mortal Kombat last summer but haven't given it a go yet.
@@russiankodiak6849 you got that right! Had it not been for the Xbox 360 and PS3, games wouldn't be what they are today. In all honesty, the 360 and PS3 are the best 2 consoles in history in my personal opinion, because they were the first to show improvements in graphics to look close to real life.
Hit those garage sales! I got my PS3 slim for $20 at one. Flipped the component cable and 2 Move controllers for mucho profit, so the console was free. That impressed a buddy so he came garage sale-ing with me a few months later, and we found him a slim for $10. Retro Zelda fans need to check out 3D Dot Game Heroes, a PS3 exclusive.
Great video. There are a ton of PS3 games I want, all of the PS2 HD collection games is also something alone to get into itself. Loved the vid guys and I will be getting a PS3 this year. More like THIS MONTH!
Great video guys, brings me back so many memories about PS3. I own Fat PS3’s. 2 with 4 USB ports fully backwards compatible. 1 with just 2 USB ports that I’ve softmodded for Retro Gaming. Love my old games
Been on a real ps3 kick lately ...on my 4th playthrough of metal gear solid 4 and 3rd of last of us. Decided to go through your archives and checkout some PS3 content ..great episode
Yeah it's worth it, I got my ps3 hooked up in my room right now, the cross buys are the best. Buying Metal gear Solid, Castlenania Symphony of the Night, and Megaman games on PS3 then getting it on my Vita and Psp is Golden. Blue ray player, plus video game library, the best time to collect for PS3 is right now.
Great video. I love my CECHA01 BC console and will never get rid of it. I picked up a Phat L01 today for $35.00 and will be flipping it so I can buy some more games.
Love you guys. Price wise anything from 7th gen is a smart move. Not to mention in some cases you don't have to worry about buying broken day 1 games. Ps3 is great since pretty much any controller works with it.
That intro was hilarious with your friend naming all the other channels 😂 love you guys! Wish I got more of the ps3 games I wanted before this insane hike I've been buying more 360 games because of it
Lol! Retro Rick is a funny fella. Keep your eyes peeled at yard sales and thrift stores. We’re still finding PS3 games quite a bit. Thanks a ton for watching. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid I have been thanks to yall! Been reselling old pc games I find and making decent money as well of ebay thanks for the tips! Just found a new 2ds xl for 40 at a thrift store and got a bunch of awesome ps2 and 360 games for 2-5 bucks each!
I still play my PS3 slim 320 gig to this day!! If you ever have a lot of data buildup on yours though when you change the hard drive be ready for about three nights worth of rebuilding your file database
I got the Super slim and my only problem is its very easy for the disc drive top to open by itself if you just as much as touch it. And about the controller its way to light
March 2021, got a really clean 60g backwards compatible PS3 off of Craigslist for $225. Love it... plays the most scratched up ps1 and ps2 games flawlessly lol
Generation 7 was awesome and we're still basically playing the same type of games since than. We're playing newer games with shinier graphics but no major revolutionary video game mechanics have being used since than other than the Nemesis System in Shadow of Mordor that was not possible to be implemented on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. I had the original backwards compatible PS3 model but unfortunately it died last year. One other aspect to consider about that model (other than less reliability) is that it's very loud. I since got the latest Super Slim model and I like it much more. It's smaller, very quiet and I can change discs even when the console is off. I miss the PS2 backwards compatibility convenience but to be honest I prefer to play them on my PS2 anyway.
Great video guys. I had the 360 first and loved it laterbhad the PS3 and wasn’t until almost end of life where I started collecting for. I have 2 slim models and just sold my fat backwards to a friend. But I will have to check out that metal gear solid game
MGS 4 is awesome. If you are a fan of the series you will really enjoy it. It get some hate for some reason but I've always loved it. Thanks a ton for watching. Cheers!
I didn't watch the whole video, but something about the models: yes, the superslims are extremely reliable and there's nothing wrong with the disc loader. Also, every single variant of PS3 no matter old, new, slim or fat can play PS1. For PS2, you'll have to buy PS2 digital versions from the store or go for the first generation fat.
@@GamingOffTheGrid Sometimes it freezes Does that mean that the hard drive needs replacing Or is it to do with the disk and the scratches on their I mean I’ve only noticed it when I’m playing WWE 12 Maybe the scratches on it could be the issue
@@GamingOffTheGrid now is the perfect time to get the ps4 acually because most ps3 games are ported to ps4 and games are cheap af on both the trick is to buy a 1 gen old console or buy a budgetish pc
One other thing I forgot to mention that I would love to get. I would love to get one of those PS3 Test systems that Radical Reggie has that play all Region PS2 and PS1 games and that allow you to force 1080P on PS3 games. That would be great to have.
Was stoked when i brought my 3D tv and i already had something to play the media. Playing God of war Ascension in 3D made me realise the power of the PS3 when utilising the hardware properly
The PS3 is when I finally realized that this is where I'm going to draw the line in terms of collecting. The insane installation and load times to play a game if you don't have everything set up and ready to go is just soooo crippling for enjoying anything on the PS3.
I feel like this is such an underrated console mainly due to releasing later than the 360 and being incredibly expensive at launch. But man, it has such an amazing library. It was my main console the later half of that gen and now I'm really trying to beef that collection up. I'd really like to add a backwards compatible fat to the collection as well.
I remember buying my X360 in 07 at Circuit City with PGR3 and man it blew me away playing it and then going to my friend's house to play gears of war and loved that series at the time. Even when I bought Halo 3 when it first came out and got that at Game Stop and went hours and hours on end playing the campaign and multiplayer with a small dedicated team I had back then. In August of 08, I bought my PS3 that came with MGS4 from Fry's Electronics and I started to games for it little by little back then until later on I started to buy more ps3 games and now got 2 cabinets filled with PS3 games which means I need to catch up on whereas with my 360 I have about 40-50 games for it mostly exclusive. Definitely enjoyed the Playstation 3 and I still am with some hidden games that are going up in price like Asura's Wrath, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Silent Hill games, Castlevania Lords of Shadow, FEAR series, Dark Sector, and so on.
I just bought a PS3 original phat backwards compatible 60gb console which plays all ps1 ps2 and ps3 games from a friend for $20. He didnt want it anymore. He was moving and said it was too big. Its like ill take it off your hands. I have a ps2 slim which I will use for ps1 and ps2 games. So will use it for PS3 only. Im just glad to have one. Even if it will just sit on my shelf.
Oakshire is about two miles from my house, objectively one of the best breweries in Eugene, Oregon. They have a fantastic annual brew called Hellshire, *try this stout* !
So iv obviously been gaming since I was young, og game boy life and snes. BUT the ps3 is the first console I bought myself. I went out bought a 26 inch HDTV, a 60gig ps3 and an extra controller. Saved serious money making 9 bucks an hour at jiffy lube to buy it. It was my first hard core gaming with friends online. Ended up selling my 60 gig to buy a high end clutch for my racecar at the time and then got a 360. And loved the 360. They are both imo killer consoles can't go wrong either way.
Fantastic video fellas!!! Believe it or not but the PS3 was my favorite console of that generation and my favorite playstation console. I had the fat backward compatible model and a slim. First console I ever bought 2 of. Great list of games and valid points. My favorite game of all time on it is Heavy Rain and my favorite Playstation move game is The Shoot.
The best PS3 60gb & 20gb models that came out was well worth the money because both models were fully backwards compatible because they were hardware based plus a built in Blu-ray player & a super audio CD player, the 60gb model has built in WiFi & memory card slots, while the 20gb model doesn’t have the WiFi & the memory card slots, but both of them have 4 USB ports, I highly recommend them you get what you pay for😷👏👍.
This is why i'm glad i got alot of ps3 games in the past year. I have a BC 20GB ps3 so i'm good on that as well as 2 other ps3's (one slim and 1 super slim). games will start to climb very soon due to gamestop phasing out 7th gen games. out of all the 7th gens consoles, ps3 has the smallest selection when it comes to pre owned games at gamestop.
I bought a PS3 Super Slim, this year from Goodwill. The Super Slim is my personal favorite version of the PS3 overall and the system is really good, but the major thing I hate about the PS3 overall is the amount of software updates.
Yes the launch ps3 was very expensive at a price point of $600 but lesser known was that it cost Sony $800 to manufacture...that's why there are so many variants
The thing that sold me on the PS3 was the Blu Ray player. I actually didn’t get a 360 til after my PS3 and my library for it is 8x bigger. I still am collecting for it, play it a lot and use the Blu Ray player regularly too.
The price of the PS3 is the reason in huge sales for the PS2 which helped that system sales. The PS3 at $599 while the PS2 sold at $99 and for the first 18 months/ 2 years or so they were both coming out with the same games so simple math on which console were being bought by consumers until Sony finally discontinued the PS2 altogether.
How much should I sell my Factory sealed/ new PlayStation 3 for? I was unloading one of my storage units and I came across my PlayStation 3 ultra slim 500 GB I purchased back in 2012. I never had a chance to open it. It's still Factory sealed with original receipt of purchase from Best Buy in Athens Ga along with 2 games Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 still Factory sealed. I never opened them. I'm the original owner. They were in my room closet for about 4 years and in my storage unit for about 8 years. Does anyone know how much I should sell them for and should I take them to GameStop for cash?
@@GamingOffTheGrid I feel the xbox 360 was the better console in the 1st half of the 7th generation and then the 2nd half PS3 was the better console. Such a good generation that is great to collect for!
Damn, a 2021 video seems like yesterday! We’re almost half way through 2023 already! Time is flying and here we are in 2023 and the PSA is still out about the PS3, IT’S THE RIGHT TIME TO BUY FOR THE PS3!!!! I REPEAT BUY FOR THE PS3 RIGHT NOW!
While I prefer the 360 I actually don't have one at the moment. But I have a modded OG Xbox and a Series X so I think I'm mostly covered for anything Xbox I want to play. I do have a PS3 though I started collecting for maybe two years ago or so. The slim 120gb edition, although I upgraded the hard drive to a 500gb. I've got about 40 games including Heavy Rain, The Uncharted Trilogy, The Last of Us, both Infamous games, Twisted Metal, every God of War game, and let's not forget Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, that you guys were kind enough to send me. So basically all the required hits and a solid mix of action, platformer, rpg, shooters, sports. I'll collect more for it at some point. For anyone looking though, it's a great system to get into and the majority of games are dirt cheap, especially when compared to the 360 counterparts, which I'm sure is partially due to the backwards compatible features on the current gen of Xbox. And of course the PS3 does play original playstation games as well for anyone interested. Cheers fellas.
I got the backwards compatible ps3 a long time ago in its peak for a bill and spent a bill to fix the hard drive. I love it and don't regret it. Nothing like 3 systems in one. Great and epic titles, crisp feeling controllers and just beautiful looking system.
Triggers Ps3 are Convex, Concave is what they should have been! Concave goes in like a ‘Cave’.. But depending on where your basing this from it’s easy to mix up..
It's 2023 and I still play games on PS3. PS3 has such a huge library of games to play and a lot of them are really fun to play even to this day. PS3 was a console that had games that had a good balance between good graphics & gameplay. Some games I look at and think: "This is a PS3 game?" After PS3, Sony games just focus more on making the games more realistic & cinematic, to the point the games themselves become boring & just feel like movies, then game, but PS3 on the other hand has a lot of games that have good graphics, but never strayed away from actual gameplay of the games. I still love playing games like InFamous, Ratchet & Clank, GTA IV. God of War, Metal Gear Solid, etc. And the fact that PS3 also plays PS1 games physically is also a nice edition. I also like some of the HD Collections of the old PS2 games you can play on PS3. Some are good ways to play PS2 games that someone like me missed out on like Jak and Daxter or the old MGS games, but others like the Racthet & Clank HD Collection have some odd visual glitches to the point I go playing the PS2 trilogy on the PS2.
@@GamingOffTheGrid PS3 is also a good console, especially for those who can't afford newest consoles or hardware. I live in a small country called Latvia & I can't really afford stuff like XBOX Series X or whatever. I did get the Nintendo Switch, but it was a cheaper option & also I wanted to own a handheld console, so I don't feel like I'm falling behind the times. But anyways, some games on my laptop did not run well, so I bought a copy of the same game for the PS3 & didn't have problems running it. Also some PS4 games were released on PS3, such as Alien Isolation or The Evil Within for example & suprisingly those game run pretty well on a older hardware. It's just a shame that too many PS3 online servers are being shut down. I remember how much fun I had playing Killzone 2 Multiplayer, I honestly bought my PS3 when PS4 first launched & some games were still playable online. Killzone 2 was my personal favourite, some people even wanted me to join their clan, but I accidently declined them, since I had no idea how clan invites work, plus I don't play MP games that much, since I'm more of a single player type of person, then anything else. It's also a great DVD/Blu-Ray player for movies & TV shows as well. Unfortenatly, my PS3 is region locked, so I can't watch certain movies/TV shows from US for example.
Apparently some HD-DVDs suffer from disc rot already. I had that add on for my 360 but it didn’t take too long to realise Blu Ray was going to be the winner.
One thing that is worth mentioning is that the PS3 is Region Free. I imported some Dingers that are getting Pricey. Get them now before they are out of reach. Two Shmups, Ketsui and Mamarakun Curse! Also a 4 player version of the Dungeons and Dragons Collection (great arcade beat em up) and finally Vampire Savior Chronicles (Collection of Darkstalkers games in HD/ Great Fighting Games).
Yeah the PS3s are great, I believe I had the Xbox 360 first but as of right now in 2021, I only have 1 Xbox 360, but 4 PS3s. 2 fat models (1 non-backwards compatible and 1 semi-backwards compatible with software emulation with the E01 model - the A01 model is fully compatible and the B01 model doesn't have wifi if I recall) and I have 2 super slim models. There is one advantage with the super slims and that is the disc drive. If you have the original slim or fat model, you may have to get the system open to get the disc out if there's an issue with the drive but with the super slim, you don't need to worry about that.
We want to track down a super slim at some point and a fully backwards compatible version of the fat as well. Hopefully this garage sale season is fruitful :). Cheers!
I've had my PS3 for 11 years now and I'm still getting games for it. one thing I feel PS3 does better than the 360 is it has more of a variety of RPGs.

The PSN store on ps3 is the best.
Great video guys, I actually just bought a PS3 this last week and started collecting for it. Let's go !
Boom! Tons of great games on the cheap. Great time to get in on it man. Cheers!
Buy all the digital exclusive games Now!!!
Thank you 🙏
Man every time I think you guys can’t top your last “mini series” you do!! Love the content thanks!!
Thanks man! We keep thinking one of these days we're going to run out of ideas lol. Hopefully we can keep pulling rabbits out of our ass. Cheer!
@@GamingOffTheGrid a full out wrestling themed episode would be dope.
I just got a PS3 a couple years ago. Love it!
Collecting for the PS3 is great right now. I hit up a few stores regularly, and PS3 is by far what they have the most of.
I bought an 80 gig FAT model. Came with Motorstorm. First games I bought was Orange Box and Unreal Tournament 3. Unreal Tournament 3 and COD World at War were my intro to multi-player shooters. Still my favorite FPS to this day.
got a ps3 for free. Just need hook ups, controller and games. New you two would be my go too. And been listening to Hazer on spotify. 🍻
Awesome man! Free is always good :). Also, thanks for spinning us on Spotify. Always cool to hear. We actually might be playing live again soon which is nice. Cheers!
And 1 month later.. the PS3 market is through the roof
For real though....
Cheers!
I just found you guys, and I love it. Never engage on TH-cam, but I dig you guys.
Both are absolute hammers! So glad you could get both! We love Gen 7! Cheers!
Definitely now is the time to grab a PS3 collection, though was probably a bit cheaper a couple of years ago. In 2019 I grabbed a launch edition full backwards compatible PS3 for $40 at Goodwill, fairly clean & no issues.....yet! 🙌🏼
Great Video Guys! 👏🏼
Damn man that is a steal! We really want a fully backwards compatible model. Hopefully we can get lucky and find one on the cheap. Cheers!
You think that’s good, you should see the launch edition I picked up today for $25 on sale. Absolute steal!
Brothers
There are many games that require an install on the ps3.
Bought one when work shut down for covid loving it! Over 150 games plus many ps1 game's great console
YES YOU SHOULD....games are abundant and dirt cheap......and the console is still amazing
still have my original PS3 although it died 9 months after getting it back in the day. one day i’ll fix it up for now i’ll use my silver ps2 slim to play both ps1 and ps2 games. great video as usual can’t wait for the next video
Awesome that your enjoying the PS3! Yeah we have noticed that in the controllers also! Cheers!
Thats awesome! Having one of the originals is impressive! Cheers!
Love me some Uncharted, God of War and Motorstorm so good great memories, but I do remember Red Dead Redemption having some funny glitches on it
Great video I’m a huge PS3 fan. I think the PS3 was ahead of it’s time
Thanks a ton! Such a great console. Made it a fun episode to make. Cheers!
You guys should try Heavenly Sword - it's by Ninja Theory and stars Anna Torv and Andy Serkis
plus the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat features Kratos as an exclusive guest character
Sounds good man. Thanks for the recommendations. We will keep a look out for Heavenly Sword. I'm pretty sure we picked up Mortal Kombat last summer but haven't given it a go yet.
Difference between the PS3 and the PS4 is almost negligible...... Which means PS3 Is an great console and that too with free multiplayer 😎
It's a badass machine for sure. The market is starting to rise on it too. Glad we have most of what we want. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
The Ps4 and Ps5 would not be here if it wasn’t for the Ps3/Xbox 360 generation with all the new innovations such as online multiplayer, HDMI port, etc
@@russiankodiak6849 Online multiplayer has been around for quite a while. So it wasn't all that new and innovative.
@@AnarickTheDevil I know it wasn’t new
@@russiankodiak6849 you got that right! Had it not been for the Xbox 360 and PS3, games wouldn't be what they are today. In all honesty, the 360 and PS3 are the best 2 consoles in history in my personal opinion, because they were the first to show improvements in graphics to look close to real life.
Still searching for a used working PS3 Fat. I just bought six good games for it secondhand. That's why I just found this channel. Great video!
Pixel Game Squad intro was awesome!
Great video fellas!
As a fellow collector in England, another brilliant video. You guys & a couple of beers make my weekends. Cheers lads! Stay safe.
That's awesome to hear man! Hope you are having a great weekend. Cheers!
This was a fantastic video and very informative because the PS3 is a console I completely missed out on during thay generation.
Get one now
Great video. There are a ton of PS3 games I want, all of the PS2 HD collection games is also something alone to get into itself. Loved the vid guys and I will be getting a PS3 this year. More like THIS MONTH!
Thanks man! Hope all is well. The PS3 is definitely cheap to collect for right now. Gotta love it. Good luck with your collecting endeavors. Cheers!
Just got a PS3 earlier this month and just finished MGS4, what a masterpiece of a game. Grabbing more games when I can.
Awesome that you finally got to play that game. Epic experience for sure. Thanks or watching. Cheers!
Great video guys, brings me back so many memories about PS3. I own Fat PS3’s.
2 with 4 USB ports fully backwards compatible. 1 with just 2 USB ports that I’ve softmodded for Retro Gaming. Love my old games
Hey GOTG! I love the PS3.Crazy expensive when it 1st came out. Great video guys.
2023 baby pulled my 2008 model
out of the storage closet, dusted it off and ... it turned on! I'ma stack up on games.
Been on a real ps3 kick lately ...on my 4th playthrough of metal gear solid 4 and 3rd of last of us. Decided to go through your archives and checkout some PS3 content ..great episode
Great vid guys, PS3 such a good system still with insanely cheap games
Thanks man! Definitely a great time to collect for the console and the games still play great. Cheers!
Good videos, hope you guys grow big, cause this is clean af
Thanks a ton! We really appreciate and are glad you enjoyed the vid. Cheers!
Love you guys. Price wise anything from 7th gen is a smart move. Not to mention in some cases you don't have to worry about buying broken day 1 games.
Ps3 is great since pretty much any controller works with it.
Thanks man! Ya, Gen 7 is super easy and fun to collect for right now. We find games all the damn time. Thanks a ton for watching. Cheers!
@@jangobango2847 Bam!!! Killing it man. The stuff is out there. Keep grinding. Cheers!
I still play my PS3 slim 320 gig to this day!!
If you ever have a lot of data buildup on yours though when you change the hard drive be ready for about three nights worth of rebuilding your file database
Those slims are hard to kill man. I find them game hunting all the time and I can't remember a time one didn't work.
Great video guys, already a long time PS3 collector but this was a great informative video with lots of good games mentioned! 👍🤘
Thanks a ton! Cheers to the PS3!
Cheers!
Just found this channel a couple of days ago.
Loving your content. Greetings from Mexico
Awesome man! Glad you found us and are enjoying the vids.
Yes, so I can play playstation all-stars battle royale. I miss that game so much
I need to play that one more. Robert raves about that game. Thanks a ton for watching. Cheers!
Question: where is the best place to buy a ps3 console in3021 at a cheap price? I'm in Nova Scotia ,Canada
Was stoked when i brought my 3D tv and i already had something to play the media. Playing God of war Ascension in 3D made me realise the power of the PS3 when utilising the hardware properly
Yeah that is amazing! We dont own it but have played it and it was alot of fun! Cheers!
Great video guys, I've been watching for about a month now and I'm loving this channel!
Thanks man! Glad you are enjoying the vids and the madness lol. We really appreciate your feedback and support. Cheers!
The PS3 is when I finally realized that this is where I'm going to draw the line in terms of collecting. The insane installation and load times to play a game if you don't have everything set up and ready to go is just soooo crippling for enjoying anything on the PS3.
Oh boy, wait until you see the current games, the installation of some games on my pc is crazy. Ps3 isn't even that bad? At least with my experience
STEP 1) install ssd 2) rip game to ssd 3) enjoy
I feel like this is such an underrated console mainly due to releasing later than the 360 and being incredibly expensive at launch. But man, it has such an amazing library. It was my main console the later half of that gen and now I'm really trying to beef that collection up. I'd really like to add a backwards compatible fat to the collection as well.
I have an original PS3 80GB/80GB with 4 front ports, Blue Ray disk drive, and the Linux OS installed. I wonder how much it is worth today?
I think those models are worth a pretty penny. Easily over $150. Probably more. Cheers!
Dude that console is a diamond in the rough....its work alot even used
I remember buying my X360 in 07 at Circuit City with PGR3 and man it blew me away playing it and then going to my friend's house to play gears of war and loved that series at the time.
Great video guys!
We definitely need to upgrade for sure. Hopefully we can find one our hunting this year. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Dropping my comment because I usually watch off my tv but THANK YOU for this video ahead.
That's how we watch typically too. Love watching You Tube on a TV. Not a ton of folks do that but it is the way to go. Cheers!
Dang dude that’s awesome! Pricecharting.com says $500. I definitely wouldn’t go the Game Stop route. Best of luck. Cheers 🍻
Honestly all I've been doing during this gen was collecting for the previous gen, I didn't get a PS4 until maybe a year ago
Had to click on video straight away, PS3 has to be my favourite console of all time.
It's a badass console for sure. And right now there is so much low hanging fruit for it. Cheers to the good ol' PS3!
Yes it is! Grab it before the price goes up! Cheers!
We really want to track down a fully backwards compatible version this year. Hopefully we can find one on the cheap. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid hope you guys can find one. I got mine on offer up. People sell their goods there in bundles as well. Good luck with it.

Awesome! What games have you been playing?
I still mourn the fact that I can’t play the original Motorstorm anywhere but a PS3. That was a great franchise. R.I.P.

We play the PS3 all the time still! One of the most played in the gameroom! Cheers!
Great intro. Go editor Riff!!! Dew your thing!!!! !!! !!!!
I just bought a ps3 original phat that was hardly used and it had the box for 190 today
Great video guys. Wish you mentioned the Ratchet and clank series, and finally Killzone 2 and 3 .
Cheers!
