Shutting down bad company 2 servers was a real blow. Battlefield 3 and 4 for ps3/xbox 360 wasn't that good as the maps were designed for 64 players but these consoles only supported 24
ive been a lp fan since i got my psp for the first time when i was 7 in 2013 and then gt the lbp2 for the ps3 and played it day and night. im trying to buy a separate ps3 so i can install costum firmwatre and play lbp gta v, and stuff like that

Metal Gear Online itself represents that in many ways with an unbelievable amount of customisation available (even by today's standards) which you would earn in the game itself rather than having to pay for it.

I cannot even begin to tell you how many hours I put into Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with my friends. It got to the point where we knew exactly all the glitches that the game had to offer and basically became pros at it. The funniest is in the villa level where there's a certain spot that if you use the arctic warfare rifle to shoot through a certain ceiling, it would fire into the enemy spawn point. Good times.
Just checked all the Call of Duty games I still own on Sunday September 15 2024 and Black Ops 1 - 1000+ players Black Ops 2 - 0 players Black Ops 3 - 5 players Ghosts 200+ platers MW2 0 players MW3 200+ players World at War 100+ players Blops 1 is my favorite COD so I'm happy to be able to play it!
I normally play MW2 on 360 and if ps3 is the same as Xbox it will say 0 players but actually has plenty of players. On Xbox there is always TDM, FFA, and S&D on weekends, but is very hit and miss on weekdays unfortunately.
Great video! Hopefully this will bring even more people to these games. I'm glad you covered GOW Ascension. It's definitely not easy for new players since most of the players still playing are already maxed out and well experienced. But fights can be pretty fun when you're fighting someone on your skill level.

For rally fans, Colin McRae DiRT2 is still online till this day! As a Malaysian (who have to wait until midnight to find an active servers), I remember one time playing with a bunch of Aussie dudes with few European players in the server, it's damn fun especially when you race with a full grid of players. I definitely recommend tracking down that copy of DiRT2 if any of you haven't got it. It's worth it.

Do it I buy them everytime I see em got a cecha01 last week for $180 2 controllers 18 games 3 guitar hero controllers got home immediately put a 1tb 7200rpm hdd updated to 4.91 and went to PS3toolset put my usb in didn’t even do a dump ran the temps on god of war 3 after 6hrs and definitely needed a delid and new paste and a new psu grabbed a cechl03 out of my closet grabbed the psu and voila 😂

Great video, I didn't know so many games were revived, PS3 has to be the best console out there. On the GT6 issue, you missed a step, you have to install 1 update, start the game and let it install the update in-game and once you are in your garage, quit and install the second update and follow the same steps, rinse and repeat for each update. for some reason installing them all in one go breaks the game
Resistance Fall of Man, that game was popular for other reasons than gameplay as well. It allowed you to bypass updates/patches for other games. Was an easy way to play MW2 on 1.11 patch online when the current patch was 1.14.
20:58 I found a guy in MGS:PW once that was idle and maybe a few other people in separate lobbies. I kept checking back whenever I played the game and there didn't seem to be people on or I couldn't connect to the few lobbies that were up.
I feel it was probably a license issue since the series is developed by remedy, owned by rockstar. But remedy has control over it. Fun fact max payne is in the same universe as control, Alan wake, and quantum break
Peace Walkers multiplayer mainly lies within its Co-op campaign. Since theres a trophy that requires you to spend time playing with another player youll often find someone hosting a game
Dark Souls 1 is still pretty active. Demon's Souls also has a private server with some people on the weekend mostly. DS2 used to be active too, rip to its server.

I've never been much of a COD player but I did play a little bit of Black Ops. Some years ago I was heavily into Black Ops II. I also played MW2 but one of the lobbies was hacked.
mod nation racers is still active and it has a community discord server, mind you the servers are down, but there are some developers that brought the service back up but you can’t play online multiplayer (pvp), but u can access the maps and etc.
Love that people constantly play older online games and make servers for old games for older consoles. Love seeing people play Dreamcast, Wii, PS3, OG Xbox, PS2, Xbox 360, 3DS, Wii U, Gamecube(really limited for online) to actually play those or make fan made servers so people can constantly play. I played Borderlands 2 in July 2022, leaving network settings open for fun. But I was shocked when people started to connect to my game. In a couple of minutes, we had a full lobby of 4 players, added each other as friends, and finished the game together. Can't tell about the first game or the Pre-Sequel but multiplayer in Borderlands 2 was alive at that time.
Late note about Dead Island: the base version and GOTY version seem to run on different servers. When I played a few months ago on GOTY I was able to find quite a few people.
This was huge nostalgia for me. It was kinda sad seeing Journey completely empty. One of the greatest games ever made imo. I met a random when playing it on launch on the PS3 back then and we both made it to the end of our destination together. It was one of the greatest gaming experiences. Really makes you wonder why there hasn't been anything similar done yet after over a decade. Looking at all these different great games made me realize even more how incredibly lackluster and terrible the current gen consoles (PS5 & Series X) are when it comes to games. I used to play most of the games shown here for hours upon hours. Nowadays, I very rarely play games due to the lack of good games
for rainbow six vegas 2 i have that fan pack version as shown in image on the video but when you go in to the terrorist hunt map list the 3 extra maps are not there, which is annoying as when i went to the store and clicked on free map pack download it said you can't purchase this at this moment of time as if it no longer works.. it's a shame as i would like to host terrorist hunt on murdertown dark map, that would be so much fun.
Until IAMAUSSIE ruined it I was still playing when the servers got shutdown 10 years ago 😂 I’m definitely going back but I want the emulation to improve might go back for a bit in ps3 for the trophies tho with the save file trick
Last I heard about the CODs on PS3 was that the servers were overrun with hackers and if you go online, you risk them stealing all your personal info. Was that fixed or what
That’s anything and everything online forever 😂 but considering 4.91 latest OFW is jailbroken I’d say at least 70% are jailbroken and the other 30% HEN enabled but not many people trying to rtm since that almost guaranteed to cost a CID on cod and destiny and gta I mean we still do it but it’s usually to help our main accounts and friends and if you don’t get reported you don’t get banned these days but even then you just make a new and switch CIDs and most of us have dozens of ps3s for parts and CIDs I have 15 and 2 other ones mostly used up not counting my main super slim or the other 4 I’m using now
Correction, BLUR is still online and has an active playerbase. I mistakenly thought it was only available via private servers 😅
thankfully it wasn't! For new players of BLUR, it will take some time before you can be competitive in that game haha

Late note about Dead Island: the base version and GOTY version seem to run on different servers. When I played a few months ago on GOTY I was able to find quite a few people.

Yea dead island double pack is the goty. It's one and only blue ray that have everthing within it both dead island and riptide.

in BO3 you can RARELY find lobbies during weekdays. During weekends especially saturday you can find around 2 full lobbies.
That was the case before it broke on me. I'm glad it has people still playing it though

This was huge nostalgia for me. It was kinda sad seeing Journey completely empty. One of the greatest games ever made imo. I met a random when playing it on launch on the PS3 back then and we both made it to the end of our destination together. It was one of the greatest gaming experiences. Really makes you wonder why there hasn't been anything similar done yet after over a decade. Looking at all these different great games made me realize even more how incredibly lackluster and terrible the current gen consoles (PS5 & Series X) are when it comes to games. I used to play most of the games shown here for hours upon hours. Nowadays, I very rarely play games due to the lack of good games
for rainbow six vegas 2 i have that fan pack version as shown in image on the video but when you go in to the terrorist hunt map list the 3 extra maps are not there, which is annoying as when i went to the store and clicked on free map pack download it said you can't purchase this at this moment of time as if it no longer works.. it's a shame as i would like to host terrorist hunt on murdertown dark map, that would be so much fun.

Until IAMAUSSIE ruined it I was still playing when the servers got shutdown 10 years ago 😂 I’m definitely going back but I want the emulation to improve might go back for a bit in ps3 for the trophies tho with the save file trick
Last I heard about the CODs on PS3 was that the servers were overrun with hackers and if you go online, you risk them stealing all your personal info. Was that fixed or what
That’s anything and everything online forever 😂 but considering 4.91 latest OFW is jailbroken I’d say at least 70% are jailbroken and the other 30% HEN enabled but not many people trying to rtm since that almost guaranteed to cost a CID on cod and destiny and gta I mean we still do it but it’s usually to help our main accounts and friends and if you don’t get reported you don’t get banned these days but even then you just make a new and switch CIDs and most of us have dozens of ps3s for parts and CIDs I have 15 and 2 other ones mostly used up not counting my main super slim or the other 4 I’m using now
