Hey! I just wanted to drop you a line. I'm a medically retired volunteer firefighter. I attended a funeral today for a LODD. I tell you what, for the escort to the cemetery, there must have been 4,000+ apparatus for the final ride. I live in PA, and there was apparatus from as far west as Chicago, south as Norfolk VA, north as Canada. The fire chief of San Antonio, TX flew in to pay his respect. We are all a great big family.

Yes he still answers prayers and is the great healer and po performs many miracles each day through out the world and one of those was myself as my stage 4 lung cancer is still in remission since April of 2011!

I am a ex-firefighter I started out as a volunteer firefighter paramedic for a small town in state of New York. I fall in my dad footsteps before her passway my dad was the best fire chief that the small town had.he was the fire chief from 1972-1994 before he passed away with cancer.i had to give up being a firefighter paramedic after I broke my back in 9-11.

My sister lives in Lexington and I wish I had known about a you years ago, I would have made a point to visit your station when I was in town. As a volunteer firefighter near Waco, Texas we had a car fire a few weeks ago and while it was still in flames I had to pull the hood release and was scared until I asked God to walk with me as I did it, and I know he's there on every call. Great song, will definitely share with the dept.

Love this song ! But people if you are gonna drink and drive think of what I see a lot the drunk standing outside there vehicle. Watching as someone is carried to the hospital after being cut out of their vehicle. Your choices affect everyone not just yourself just remember and this song hits it on the head .

In one car there was a drunk driver, hit head on into a young couple
The drunk driver didn’t make it, hope his soul was saved from hell
In the other car was a woman crying, next to her was her husband dying
She was carrying her first born child, trapped behind the wheel
He thought it was tough, that old firefighter, after all them years
Found hisself’ on them knees in the street in the rain with some stranger having prayers
Can’t explain what made him do it, never before had he acted so odd
He was at the right place at the right time, and he knew he had been used by god
The young woman started to calm down, the old fireman started to pray
Though he’d never done anything like it before, the words came to him to say
He said in Jesus name, dear god please help this woman and her family
The next thing he said didn’t come from him but he said it anyways
Fear not the lord is with you, your husband and baby’s fine
The other firemen looked at him in disbelief, they thought he’d lost his mind
Cuz’ the odds were greatly against him, as the ambulance took him away
But the greatest healer of all was there, a miracle happened that day
He thought it was tough, that old firefighter, after all them years
Found hisself’ on them knees in the street in the rain with some stranger having prayers
Can’t explain what made him do it, never before had he acted so odd
He was at the right place at the right time, and he knew he had been used by god
Four months later, Christmas Eve morning
Little country firehouse number eighteen
The old fireman was taking a nap
He heard visitors call his name
They said a christmas just card didn’t seem right
We wanted you to see
There stood the woman, next to her husband
With a healthy little boy baby
He thought it was tough, that old firefighter, once again after all them years
Found hisself’ thanking the good lord above as they all stood there in tears
God is still there and he hears our prayers, miracles still happen today
The reason I know this story is true, that old fireman was me
