This video has been up for 10 years now, and I've watched it at least 4 times. Love it! I can't (and don't want to) even imagine what kind of miserable life the 47 people who disliked it must be living.
My grandpa had a cabin on the Kentucky, ran trot lines and hunted and fished around those parts up to the day he died. Never wanted to go anywhere else, that's contentment.
Just looked back on this and realized this is the single thing that sent me into a shanty/house boat/raft frenzy that has led up to me making plans to raft down the Big Sip! Thanks guys! PS: I was born in Kentucky!
at first i was shocked, but then i loved it! no mortgage, credit cards, time clocks, boss, deadlines, day care, traffic, gas bills, etc. they own their own lives. love it!
KYAfield has the best videos...this one and the turtleman are my favorite vids on youtube... These guys are full of laughs... I bet he kept a grin on his face all day hanging out with these fellows.
I read about the Moron Brother and this video in the Kentucky Living magazine I got in the mail today and just had to watch this. I'm glad I did. Now I want a old river houseboat even more. Talk about a great vacation!
My grandpap loved this old river and spent many years living in a cabin, running trot lines. These guys are really funny. One of the songd on their CD is about a guy's wife trying to break the tobacco chewing habit.
The best way to get around the bones in a buffalo is to leave them in and pressure cook the meat, which makes the bones soft. Then you make croquets, just like salmon. You won't notice the bones and they improve the flavor and add calcium.
Oh my GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD! Starting at 3:42 is the greatest banjo riffs I've ever heard but its only 10 seconds long. What is that song?? Has anyone bought their records and can tell me? Its so awesome.
I would give everything I have ever earned to LIVE on a houseboat like this. I grew up in the country too and find my peace with nature. I should have never listened to the the idiots telling me I had to "get ahead"! Live and learn. P.S.: Bluegrass is my favorite country music. I loved it when the "Darllins" played on the Andy Griffith Show when I was a kid!
This is just GREAT! I myself, am from the 'outskirts of Appalachia', where the State lines of Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky meet, so I can relate. Thanks!
that river must be a quiet one. if it rains too much, or the river goes wild, what would become of that house? apert from that, me too, i'm jealous! it's beautiful! great.. these two guys are intelligent
The way you eat them bone carp is you boil em till the bones and meat separates, let the meat cool down, flake it up in a bowl, add a little cornmeal and flour, onion and egg, then fry it up in bacon grease like you would Salmon Patties. Makes good eating.
Just have to ask.....Would you rather spend time with these ol boys on the river or Michael Bloomberg in New York City. .......? There is only one correct answer. (Hint, it is the one with the bluegrass music).
you need to make a trip the third weekend of september to winfield, ks for the national flatpick championship. One of the best bluegrass festivals around. alot of the best modern bluegrass today.
the way ive heard of getting around the bones is to fillet it and put it in a blender and blend up the meat little hair bones and all and make something like a salmon patty out of it
You're not morons, you're the smartest people I've seen on the youtubes. How much is your electric bill / rent / phone bill? Point proven. :) Enjoy the easy life!
I would rather live this way then in an urban city. More fresh air, less noise, more nature, and you get to use your survival skills! How long would I last, I don't know...
