Y'alls mule story reminded me of something that happened to my great grandfather. He had always wanted a matched team of horses. Well he managed to get it (this is before cars were popular and most everyone still used horses and mules). First day he took them to town to show them off he got a snootful at the saloon. He staggered out climbed in the wagon, started the horses, and promptly fell asleep. His regular team would go straight to the farm. His new team kind of did. They went to their old home. My great grandfather came to with the whole family staring at him and the momma holding a cup of coffee for him.
That's hilarious! Was this outside Corydon? My great grandmother told a similar...BUT she was the one serving the drunk guy who used to live at the house the coffee!! Have a good day.

Reminds me of a true story my father told me, when he lived in Ireland. A guy used to ride his horse and cart to the pub, he would get really drunk, and stagger his way out of the pub, and climb aboard the back of his cart, flat out. His horse would take him back to his home. One night a few guys lifted him off his cart, and rebuilt his cart, and horse, in his front room of his house, and put him back on his cart 😂😂😂😂
