I watched the whole 9 hour stream and the most infuriating part was your "captain," after 9 hours of camaraderie and shared hard work, not only sitting by watching your boat get destroyed by some egotistical psychopath as if it was a personal beef and his refusal to help was some grandiose and noble deed, but actively threatening you when you showed any sign of wanting to defend yourself. His actions definitely deepened my distrust of any ship equipped with DA sails. Every one of them I have encountered seems to have been cut from the same cloth.
Yeah those DA sails turn people man. Last session I was doing a gilded voyage for GH. Already made several alliances during the voyage, when one solo sloop with DA approaches me in a suspisious way. After outmanoeuvering him (I was parked at an island) he proclaimed that he wanted to touch my loot for GH emissary grade. I gave him permission to come aboard, but he kept putting his ship in a favorable position to which I answered accordingly. Losing his patience he opened fire. Well, me having had a long day/session and already fighting off other pirates, I didn't feel like it so I decided to annoy him by running. Using every bit of terrain to make cheeky moves (and him giving me some usual trash talk) I had finally put everything in my rowboat and set sail for Reaper's (even though I was flying GH). While rowing over I heard him complain that he didn't have time anymore and he scuttled. On my way to save my ship I left my rowie and went on to continue my voyage (as my ship was a long distance away already). Lady luck didn't favor me, as I saw a Reaper roll up on the hideout and going from grade I to IV real quick. I decided to engage but alas, Rare threw me the sink-gong whilst ablard the enemy ship so I thought the battle was won. However, they didn't sink for some reason and they started to recover from my initial ambush. Getting boarded by some skeleton curses and some back and forth later and I sunk, stacked and all. I had a similar experience on community day actually. My duo sloop and a 4 man galleon did FoTD stacking for well over 4 hours (at least) before we got all the loot ready to sell. They galleon we spent hours having fun with decided to turn on us and sell the loot. They did sell with alliance flag at least, so we got 50% of it lol.
Man the cursed cannonballs on skelly ships are craz. They seem to be launching them every 2 other shots so going against a few ships while solo slooping almost always sinks me
the betrayal is rough. Even if you grind for that many hours. I've been betrayed many times before 2020. These guys did what i call the Caribbean move. It's a good trick to make them trust you and then pounce. I will give them credit for actually taking most of your supplies. Never ever had that happen to me. Great job from both sides. Respect to them not being toxic. Thumbs up from me and also earned a sub from me Cliff!
I had a situation extremely similar to this. Except I was getting rizzy with the girls on our brigantine. But yeah we were betrayed in the end and my last words were “maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way”. it was actually uncannily similar. The last sloop that was a reaper joined and took out all of our ships at an outpost. We only found out after they started using our ships to sink the others.
People going out of their way to ruin someones experience for no reason other than getting some attentiion is definitely cringe. But probs to you, how you handled the situation. Hope to see you on the seas some day.
Bro 22 minutes! It was so worth the waiting man! and also that community day was just shit for me man. everything was bugged my crew behaved like idiots and when one of us came over 2 hours to late leaving me with a noob and a dumbass to 3 man a galleon. when we couldn't buy any skull voyages I got so angry that I started pouring captain-Morgan into my cola (alcohol with 35%) we got ambushed at the Fotd of the damned and lost a six stack. after that we just stacked ashen vaults. this is and always will be the savest (I know funny to say that about the roar) and most profitable (200k per vault with the bonus) way to make boat loads of money. just gather keys and put up the emissary when you collect the vaults (it takes about 5 to level the flag to 5) to be fair we did end up losing 3 out of 6 vaults 'cause we thought it would be a good idea to bury the keys for the next island and dumb the map bundle in the water in case we get sunk but guess what... the suckers de-spawn with the bundle. We still did made about a million with doubloons-to-gold trading but I was so pissed that 1 million gold just felt like 1 thousand with 8 hours of work put into it. but still awesome video keep up the great work and sty safe buddy. (read this part fast: and also there are only 2 vault islands in the roar, no one will attack there, the compass has so little islands to choose that almost every time you get two map parts on one island and the volcanoes are predictable as shit ; ))
When fighting skeleton gallons as a solo sloop, try to use your maneuverability to get around the back or the front, with some decent maneuvering you can sit around the stern and out of cannon range Yesterday I did 2 skele fleets solo
After the week I've had I'm grateful for this, always look forwards to you work and this week it's really appreciated, keep being you and keep up the fantastic content please Cliff

Cliff: It is confirmed that skelly sloops do NOT drop ritual skulls, in order to get them from skelly galleons you need to sink them in order for them to drop the ritual skulls, just an FYI, again, great video!
I've had stronger bonds with crews that I've battled heartily than crews that I've randomly stumbled across and decided to ally with. If a crew fights cleanly til somebody sinks (especially if they're willing to stand their ground with loot onboard) and they are courteous in chat, you know they're trustworthy. Those guys get part of their supplies and loot back from me if they want it. Good battle brings good people together, that's why I enjoy PVP so much in this game.

and also that community day was just shit for me man. everything was bugged my crew behaved like idiots and when one of us came over 2 hours to late leaving me with a noob and a dumbass to 3 man a galleon. when we couldn't buy any skull voyages I got so angry that I started pouring captain-Morgan into my cola (alcohol with 35%) we got ambushed at the Fotd of the damned and lost a six stack. after that we just stacked ashen vaults. this is and always will be the savest (I know funny to say that about the roar) and most profitable (200k per vault with the bonus) way to make boat loads of money. just gather keys and put up the emissary when you collect the vaults (it takes about 5 to level the flag to 5) to be fair we did end up losing 3 out of 6 vaults 'cause we thought it would be a good idea to bury the keys for the next island and dumb the map bundle in the water in case we get sunk but guess what... the suckers de-spawn with the bundle. We still did made about a million with doubloons-to-gold trading but I was so pissed that 1 million gold just felt like 1 thousand with 8 hours of work put into it.
but still awesome video keep up the great work and sty safe buddy.
(read this part fast: and also there are only 2 vault islands in the roar, no one will attack there, the compass has so little islands to choose that almost every time you get two map parts on one island and the volcanoes are predictable as shit ; ))
having a million gold is better than not having a million gold I suppose
When the merchant won’t give you things you bought then go buy a voyage to update your gold and they should give you your things
When fighting skeleton gallons as a solo sloop, try to use your maneuverability to get around the back or the front, with some decent maneuvering you can sit around the stern and out of cannon range
Yesterday I did 2 skele fleets solo
After the week I've had I'm grateful for this, always look forwards to you work and this week it's really appreciated, keep being you and keep up the fantastic content please Cliff
As a huge metalhead, I appreciate the heavy music in your vids.
This just remines me of the time I helped a new player clear an ashen winds just to torched his ship with the ashen winds skull.
PLEASE POST MORE VIDEOS!! i need your videos to make my life better 😭😭 thx for this amazing vid tho 🙂
VIDEOS TAKE TIME TO MAKE DARKBUBBLE

You just follow the first and most important rule of Jack Sparrow, "if u dont have to fight, then don't fight.." He always takes negotiations first and fight is the very last option in his book.
The broken mic guy sounds the same way a sentient computer would speak after it after opens a 7 zetabite zip-bomb
A 22 minute cliff video is the best way to spend 22 minutes of my day
On season 8's community day I ran 3 commodity runs and a bunch of other stuff and ended up making ~4 million. It was amazing AND my mom taught me how to drive a car
I wish the NPCs would've let me done that as well 😭
Wish my mom would play. Idk she gets motion sick so no video games period.
@@CliffTheStoryGuy must've got unlucky 😂
Cliff! What's up! Me again, great content as always, love your videos dude, this one was one of the best yet
I was on the fence before but watching some of your videos made me want to check out SoT. Don't have any friends that would play it but still I might get cool and memorable moments on the Seas. Thanks for the Content! Very Cool.
As my friend and I learned the hard way cliff, never trust a pirate, and always figure out who's got the most to lose and the most to gain when making an alliance
I have watched all your videos and I’m still not bored
i was so happy cliff uploaded today thanks man
Cliffs narrating is heavenly
That segway into the sponsor segment was very well done. Well done indeed😎

"Wealth,Wealth, and Wealth. Cliff and many others set out to obtain this and the rest of the gold the world had to offer"
Tbh Cliff if that were me, I would be fuming with so much anger that I would probably break my pc monitor.
The Skelly Ship sinking me with a sleep ball made me more angry tbh
This man’s voice is perfect
its always an amazing day when cliff posts! just wish it would happen more often...
Being sick in bed and then seeing this banger made me not so sick
Hey hope you can shake the sickness off cwis
I love your stuff man, it got me into the game and now I play almost every day
Cliff: It is confirmed that skelly sloops do NOT drop ritual skulls, in order to get them from skelly galleons you need to sink them in order for them to drop the ritual skulls, just an FYI, again, great video!
Wow what an amazing story and your storytelling made it so epic even though we know there were time when it was really boring
a couple friends and i sold a box of wonderous secrets towards the end of community day, got around 120k-130k for the sale, it was insane
Cliff is gonna love the next season!
I have only been in an alliance once, and it ended up like this. Got back to my ship with nothing left in it. Now I just solo... It's a lonely life...
I know how that feels, but you'll run into some more trustful people out in the seas, as of late people I've met has been pretty chill
