I'm curious, have these figures surprised you? Do you think dietitians should be paid more or less? Is this a career path you would consider based on this information? Let me know below ⬇
@@MariauceyRD_Dietitian this is the reason I am going for masters in physician associate studies and not dietetics. Can you please make a video on the Salary and process to become a Physician Associate in UK/ireland/US.
@@RAO.NUTRITION Makes sense! It can be a turn-off for many considering dietetics. Unfortunately, I wouldn't have the same knowledge or exposure to make a video about the Physician Associate path
Agreed it's so frustrating. I do think there is a lot of opportunity out there as a dietitian to increase your earnings buts it's not in the typical clinical RD field. Thank you for watching the video :)
Yes, it is very disheartening! I'm really hoping it will change but right now it feels like you need to break out of the traditional route of dietetics to get anywhere.
I really had no idea how much so I don't really have an opinion on the amount. Sounds like moving to the U.S. would be best for you. I'm not so sure the numbers are even remotely close because of the different wages in different States here. As a Union Wireman/Sub Technician I can make on average in the worst States about $30 an hour. On the higher end in some States I can make over $100 an hour. Some States pay 1.5 an hour over 40 hours & others States pay doubletime for over 8 hours in a day. We get retirement & medical benefits across the board. I guess what I'm saying is even in a Country the income can vary ALOT even in my industry. I tend to chase the higher paying jobs with lots of overtime pay for 6 months out of the year these days. Having the Winters off as a option I wouldn't trade my job for no other. Freedom is wonderful. 🤪
Good point, I think with any career it can really vary between locations. Especially in the States when it is so large! Oh wow, having the Winters off sounds lovely! If I ever consider a career change from dietetics, I'll have to look into that!
I’m really enjoying your videos. I’ve been taking a popular collagen powder supplement called Sparkle. It contains vitamin C. My doctor said I may have hemachromatosis and is going to watch me closely. Do u know of a safe way for someone with hemochromatosis to supplement and get benefits from collagen ?
Hi Debbie, thank you for watching, I am so glad you are enjoying the videos! Its almost as if you read my mind because I am currently working on a script all about collagen supplements! 🤣 It should be out in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for it, and I'll make sure to add a section on supplementing if you have haemochromatosis too. My advice would be not to take it around the same time as any iron containing foods and then you should be ok in terms of iron absorption. 💚
I support pay increases $ they have stagnated earnings $ stymied salaries. Also some have abused their profession or undermined their own profession credibility with wellness lies and misinformation. The medical community has highlighted these issues on #TedMed.

Thank you Solidor! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, it is a big pity the way the salaries are capped, its very demotivating. I have not seen the #TedMed talks but it sounds very interesting so I will definitely check them out. Misinformation is rife on the internet unfortunately.

It would be great if dietitians get paid atleast 40000 GBP as a starting income. 28000 GBP for entry level is insanely low.
@@RAO.NUTRITION ya its very disappointing and does not make sense given the length of time and effort that goes into becoming a qualified dietitian

Thank you so much for making this video!! I would love to know more about the starting your own business/private practice side!
You're very welcome Alyssa 💚 Yes I 100% plan on making more business related videos in the future so stay tuned 💫
There is so much variety of pay in one country alone. I make $42,000/yr in the USA. I'm so underpaid, I am leaving the field.

salary in california for registered dietician is as low as 21 and high as 40 back then it was 60 per hour. Its not good right now for dieticians
