3 things that helped me and literally changed my life 1. I stopped watching porn 2. I read the book called 'The Comic Guide to Financial Bombs' 3. Stop drinking
I had my own business communications company when I was in my 20s. I worked with small businesses in my area, writing annual reports, etc. Then, somehow, I got hooked up with a marketing agency that had some large business-to-business clients. He subcontracted a job to me from an international wall coverings company that sold to firms that built high rises, luxury hotels, resorts. They had a product line of 40 wall coverings, each with three color ways. My job was to come up with names for all of that. OH MY GOD! The money I made for just coming up with names for a bunch of wallpaper! It took me, maybe 15 to 20 hours, and I made a small fortune.
This is great advice! my question is, after you’ve built the skill how do you go about finding the businesses that would be interested? Because he did say those free lancing sites may not be the best way to go about this,so how would you then target the businesses looking for your skills.
Having the skills is really important, but you also need to have proper motivation and proper strategy. Thankfully, this year I started my dropshipping business, and honestly it was really tough in the beginning. But patience and hard work (with a bit of winnerzila) is key to success!!
Thank you for this huge amount of information. A new subscriber with you who seeks change. Sometimes I am not good at solutions, sometimes I am good at it. Honestly, everything you do deserves thanks and praise♥️
Hey Ali, your take on boosting income as a student is so on point! Learning high-income skills not only changes the financial game but also adds so much value to our journey. Keep the awesome advice coming!
Over the past 10-15 years, I've been building a bunch of high value skills (I didn't realize throughout this time... I was just following skills that interested me). Marketing (email, organic and FB/IG ads), project management, online business operations (including some popular software programs like Asana, Canva, Convertkit, ActiveCampaign), graphic design, copywriting. It takes time to learn and practice these, but now I work from home part-time and get the same income as if I was working full time locally. And I can now use these skills to build something for myself. It's never a bad idea to learn any/all of these skills. Even if you aren't an expert in one of them, but you know a good amount of each, you will do great and get paid really well!
My question would be, how do you build skills while you're struggling to meet your daily needs. I'm a college dropout (I have 117 credits and I plan to finish) and right now, my rent alone is 60% of my income and that's the cheapest I could find within commute distance of my job. Luckily, I have affordable housing lined up but for the past few years, affording to take care of myself has been such a struggle that I don't feel like I have the bandwidth to branch out and do anything else. I've tried to teach myself various skills like music production, coding, graphic design, marketing, writing etc. because those are things that actually excite me but literally just surviving takes up so much of my attention that I haven't made very much progress on any of those skills. I know you'll probably say that I should focus on one skill. I will try to bunker down but I have ADHD and that makes it hard to stay interested/motivated in a single topic consistently. Whenever things get hard financially, which is typically once per quarter, I find that any type of attention I have for gaining skills goes out the window. It's already hard enough for me to keep up with daily chores, like groceries, cooking, laundry, and cleaning. I'm working to make these things routine but the ADHD makes it very draining to do chores. What would be your suggestion for balancing all these things in a way that gives me a decent level of progress and feedback which I definitely need to stay motivated.
Yeah that's the problem here with these videos... They only work for people who are kinda comfortable already.. if u have a disabled/sick person to take care of, or a debilitating illness whether physical or mental, or even living in not a first world country you can't apply them well.. but still, u have to try instead of complaining
i hope u can keep it up bro, maybe It would be helpful to find someone rooting for you . I think you should seek help from others yourself to get out of the Cat mice trap . Stick to your plan , searching for the game changer . And I also believe maybe doing more exercise will be beneficial, Witch might sound unrealistic, Considering your situation but still worth mention . Life is tough, Especially for the poor like us . This is all cool, but the important thing is reaching out and finding clients, you need a system set which allows you to regularly look for clients and get new clients till you have enough high paying clients, that’s the main skill and you can learn it by doing but there aren’t enough resources on how to do that and avoiding the pitfalls

28:22 coding has changed my life in a two-year period since I decided to go full-time doing. I have been earning money as a dev for more than 10 years. I do have to say that the job market for a junior developer is very tough, even for a senior dev like me, things aren't easy right now. I know things will shift, but right now is not as easy as it was when I went at it full-time.

"That is why I enjoy having a portfolio-coach guide my day-to-day market decisions, because their entire skill set is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, and when combined with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's nearly impossible not to outperform. This is probably the most useful and concise video I seen in the last year or two. You gave really revelent information for opportunities that anyone can use. 🙏
These things are easier said than done. I have designers and all who have been laid off because of AI. A high income skill without good demand coupled with poor marketing of skills make a lot of people fail.
so you'll likely never see this comment, but i felt like i had to tell you that as of late, you have adopted (or are portraying) a much more easy going, fun, quietly confident energy that makes it much more enjoyable to watch the entirety of your videos. that's not to say that your videos were bad or anything, but before it was as if you were trying to present the most polished version of relatability possible to an already jaded audience (in my opinion, anyway, haha). i dunno if something shifted for you--perhaps being a bestseller?? ☺--but whatever it is, you're coming off much funnier and more authentic than ever. really enjoying the content.
Hello! First of all, it's a very nice, inspiring video! I recently finished High School and will be joining university soon. I have started to learn coding kind of on my own because this is what I will be doing in university (Computer Eng) But I also want to start making some money while I am learning and strengthening my programming skills. This is where your other videos on side hustles and web development have given me the inspiration to give it a go! However, I don't really know where to start reaching out to companies. How do I target the right audience and make my limited (for now hopefully) skill still sound appealing to businesses? Thanks!
Network with different people from some companies. See what their business needs and availability are. Learn about how they collaborate with external partners. Try to find out what skills are in demand. Target people from both startups and big companies. I think people would appreciate you're so young and playing so smart and the good people will talk to you. Good luck ^^
Amazing video Ali, as much as I have learnt most of the skills my only issue has been finding Quality Clients. Like how can we find those businesses making at least 8 figures? I mean not the $5-$10 an hour kind of clients but $1k-10k a month going up. I also do understand you have to be good and provide value and make the business more money but for someone who's starting out and transitioning to the freelance low paying gigs to high paying clients how do you start the search?
Yeah it's an unrealistic video like all of his money ones because he focuses on the ridiculous amount of money a very rare few people are able to make at some of these skills. How in the world to break into super successful businesses wanting to hire you is the key and would be a video he doesn't know how to make.

But I haven't been able to make progress as compared to the time I have spent so far. As I could not be consistent with the skill due to my academic studies. I am 23 now and I am afraid if I am late to learn such a high income skill, or I'll be able to learn it at all.
IT may not be the best industry to get into given the layoffs and firings. WFH is going away and RTO is mandatory for most new jobs. Ever tried a medium or hard leetcode because your interviewer is 100% going to ask you random questions they found on that site. No one is paying for copywriting with GPT4 and ClaudeAI. Maybe they have 1 person who's paid to look over the outputs.
While I would love to start in one of the fields mentioned in the Video (and have already acquired the skills needed), I don’t have any Idea how to market myself. How can I put myself out there without looking cheap/ inexperienced?
Based on what I see around a lot of people have started looking like that at the beginning. You just grow in quality with time. Be open to show up with vulnerability

While ChatGPT and similar tools have revolutionized writing by offering speed and convenience, they still can't fully replace the depth, creativity, strategic insight, and personal connection that human copywriters and ghostwriters bring to their work. These professionals are needed to create content that aligns with human values, motivations, and unique brand voices.
I'm a high school senior working part-time as a tutor for one and a half hours, four days a week. I earn $50, which I initially thought was low. However, after hearing your perspective, I've come to value my first job and hope to respect it.
I would love it if you addressed the actual demand for some of these skills more. I'm trying not to automatically be a skeptic or go into all the reasons why something might now work out because I know that mindset will stop me from achieving anything, but it seems like Design (esp ux/ui and web design) is a very very tough market at this point. I've seen youtubers talking about this as well as other forums where senior designers with lots of experience are having a very tough time finding jobs. Granted, you are speaking more as being an entrepreneur but I imagine if a job market is tough for a skill then demand for it in general is down. It also seems like actual hiring for coders/developers is tough. And I'm very curious about the experience of many copywriters in this new AI age. I'm also interested in why you focused on coding to create a product -- it seems like lots of entrpreneurs recommend not doing the coding yourself and focus on the business aspects. Despite my apprehensions thank you for this video, it's given me a lot of inspiration and motivation
Exactly. Everything you said is much wiser than what Ali is selling here, making money off of desperate TH-cam views instead of providing realistic advice.
i like this video just because the way you explain about copywriting! but I'm confuse even if I should learn it in 2025 i mean can AI replace it or not?
Great video Ali, as a student myself these kind of videos are very helpful for me. Thanks so much for all the work and effort you put into making these videos to help others :)
Equip yourself with high-income skills and secure a prosperous future. Fantastic insights! Mastering high-income skills like Software Consulting, Writing, Design, Website Building, and Coding in 2024 can transform students' careers. Each skill opens lucrative opportunities: Software Consulting for tech solutions, Writing for impactful content creation, Design for visual communication, Website Building for online presence, and Coding for software development. Investing in these skills not only enhances employability but also provides a solid foundation for entrepreneurial ventures.
Ali, your video is great but I fail to see how any of this is relevant. All the people you mentioned are almost pre-AI/market saturation so they were already at an advantage when they started. I also found it interesting that one of the high income skills you mentioned was web design/building while being sponsored by a platform that builds your own website without you needing to code. I usually love your videos but there’s a fine line between putting out content that’s actually relevant and helpful vs just putting out content.

"and I can now use the skills to build something for myself" THISSSS IS THE KEY
how do you learn marketing skills pls
Everything will be good brother just keep trusting yourself and God (Allah) .
I hope you're doing well
i hope u can keep it up bro, maybe It would be helpful to find someone rooting for you .
Good idea thank you for your support, motivation, and your advice❤❤

Hey Ali! Your videos are really inspiring and helpful. I have been trying to learn web development for a year now. But I haven't been able to make progress as compared to the time I have spent so far. As I could not be consistent with the skill due to my academic studies.
Thank you

How is copywriting and ghostwriting still relevant when we have ChatGPT that can write anything? Genuine question

Well said. Finding the clients is the trick. I think is more lucrative to learn the skills and then starting your own business with it.
