    I am 6ft and tried both these bikes and bought the 8s as it was less cramped for me. Power delivery is smooth and predictable on both bikes but 8s has more usable torque lower down, which on uk roads works well. Time will tell on reliability. Both great bikes.

    Love your channel, BTW. Here in Australia, the Trident is only available in the knee capped LAMS version of 60HP. The RRP prices makes it as one of the most expensive LAMS on the market. More than an MT07. Which is a real shame.

    • @RiderXp
      @RiderXp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! 60HP on a Trident would be pretty disappointing. It is certainly more premium than the MT07 so the price difference makes sense to me. I wonder how much does it cost to unrestrict it to full power?

    I bought the Trident, to me the bike is a perfect roadster and has a great quality/price ratio.
    The thing about Triumph bikes is the build quality and attention to details, the Trident is their least expensive bike but still try to find a poorly finished bike or an overlooked design feature.
    Their looks + the exhaust 3 cylinder note is a great combination.
    It's true that the brakes are not Street Triple level, but they're absolutely adequate for this bike.
    I ride a lot in the Alps with my Trident and two buddies of mine that have an MV Brutale 989R and a Suzuki GSXR 600.
    We're not very experienced riders, but I can say that the Trident is absolutely capable to keep up with them on twisty roads because it's got great power delivery and most importantly is much more agile and easy to use.

      Thank you for sharing your ownership experience. My favorite things are the exhaust note, fit and finish and the handling. I agree the brakes are reasonable for street use but I was slightly disappointed that they couldn’t execute the brake set up which looked impressive on paper. Good thing is, I know how to fix that and make it to my liking. When it was released, the Trident was on top of my list to buy but availability was low at the time. Thanks again for sharing, more videos coming, please consider sharing the video with others.

    I have the GSX-8S, (fantastic bike btw), and it doesn't have 2 level ABS, just one which can't be switched off. Maybe you're thinking of the 800 V Strom which does have Road, Gravel and Off as ABS options. In European markets the Suzuki has 7,500m service intervals and in the UK at least the warranty is 3 years extendable free of charge to 7 years if you use Suzuki authorised servicing.

    • @RiderXp
      @RiderXp  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I understand the warranty being different in different geos but services intervals being different between North America and Europe just beats me. Oh and thanks for pointing out the omission, I did ride the Vstrom 800 and might’ve confused the two. Did enjoy riding the 8S though, am looking to test ride the 8R soon.

      And in Norway we are told by the dealer that the valve inspection interval is 48000km and 12000km/year for normal service.

    I own a ‘22 Trident that I’ve owned since late ‘21. I’m 6’1 and yes it’s a bit small for me. I would have been better on a Tiger 660. I love the engine note which to my ears is better than any parallel twin. I added a LV exhaust which made it sound fantastic. It’s been perfectly reliable. No issues. Easy to ride, looks great and at the time of purchase was much more modern than all the Japanese rivals.

      Thank you for sharing your experience, it helps others in the community make up their mind. The Trident exhaust note is indeed my favorite too and i had a blast riding it!

    Hi, good review.
    I was torn between the 2 bikes and ended up going for the GSX 8S and love it.
    The quick shifter was a bit clunky for the first 1500 miles but after using it more often, it’s now silky smooth and seems even better now when down shifting.
    Overall, so far very happy with it.

      Thank you! I’m glad you liked it. Congrats on the new bike and I’m happy to hear the issue has gone but it is quite surprising that it was so common. Thanks for sharing your ownership experience, it helps others make an informed decision.

    Great comparison review. Regular service intervals on the gsx-8s are 10,000km (updated) in Australia but like most recommendations do the 5,000km service yourself to keep it fresh and running well. 16,000 on the trident seems ridiculous... prob to get more customers thinking they don't have to service it as much keeping down the costs.

    • @RiderXp
      @RiderXp  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Because I do maintenance myself, i prefer more frequent intervals. But i can also see how the cost of service adds up for people who do not have the know how or do not trust themselves to do a good job of it compared to a professional.

      Thanks for the kind words. I have ridden the 8R am now waiting to get access to the Daytona 660 so I can make that comparison. It’ll be here sooner or later.

    trident looks maybe betterr but in real it depends on preferention i like gsx8s looks but what throw me to buy gsx8s instead of trident is stronger lowend midrange and wider peak cos trident like alot triumph and buells have rpm limiter right when peak power start check 2 dyno graphs 👌🏻 + in modrange so range where you seat most of the time while dailynriding at 5 k rpm trident have only 38 hp at whell vs gsx8s on storngest mode A have 57 hp at whell and this you will defentiellly felll when you twist the throtle to the max at 5 k rpm at 100km/h when you overtake some bus 😉👌🏻 despite trident is couple kg lighter it will most likely be slightly slower in straight drag acceleration attempt comapre to gsx8s for such stuff not offcorse cos of wesker midrange or lowend which in drag race dont matter but beacuse of more narrow peak power 👌🏻but to be honest at end of the day as teident still have enough power in low and modrange rpm more than me sv 650 s feg than what be decisive factor is not this 👌🏻…but ergo so inwould buy from those 2 bikes this one which ergonomics i would like more i mean seating position asf cos i one day comapre honda cb 500 to suzuki sv 650 and despite sv have steonger engine basically at each the same rpm than inwould buy cb 500 instead of sv cos its ergo fix to meet much better 🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏻☕️

      ????? You guys must be pretty heavy on the throttle. For the first 2000 mi. my 8S has averaged 57 - 60 mpg (US).

    • @RiderXp
      @RiderXp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I sure was heavy on the throttle trying to test the heck out of what it can do. I’m sure different riding style conditions can produce different results

      @@RiderXp My usage has been a mix of city streets and highway so cruising speeds of approx 50 - 80 mph where I live in Arizona. Other than blasting up the freeway on-ramps whatever car is in front of me limits how hard I twist the throttle.
