No doubt Ms Han Ni is courageous enough to sound the bell. I guess, the best words for preventing love and money scams, are still "Don't be gullible, Never be greedy". When you get scammed, a big part is always due to GREED. E. G. You go to a supermarket to buy something packed luxuriously and stated as a panacea to a problem of any sort, you buy it on impulse and get home to find out you got scammed. There was no talking and personal coaxing involved. So, the fault is still in the temptation to buy. Because the victim wanted the "goodness" advertised on the packaging, being gillible enough to trust 'what is inside mesures up to what was described outside'. Scams are all about packaging and presentation.
I blocked 7 in one year. Too many out there. A lot of different ways to try to get you interested. They start texting me in Chinese because I have a Chinese name. Then say we meet at an so and so party. I feel bad for these woman who are lonely and think they can trust people on the internet when it comes to money. I grew up poor, so I never trust others with my money. If it sounds too good to be true, it is not true. Remember that!
@@heruchandra9036 Not realistically though. Some people like me have professional qualifications in investing and only invest through MAS regulated brokers. Can we in theory be scammed in the same way? In theory, yes, but realistically not
@@John_Smith_86 You would be surprised by how many of the victims are highly educated or intelligent. These scammers prey on people's most basic need, affection and love. You can be very smart or highly educated but you wouldn't be able to escape that basic need. And people will do alot of things to be loved.
@@John_Smith_86 Easy to talk big behind a keyboard. Ng Yu Zhi managed to con a bunch of high end professionals no? Some of whom were investment professionals, others were senior management in GLCs. Hubris is often the biggest weakness.
When someone you meet on an app asks you to start putting $$ (whatever the amount) into some investment platform, that should start ringing all sorts of alarm bells. And if they ask for more than 1k, that's confirmation of a scam.
Sorry, but this is bad advice. Real advice is don't give your TIME to a stranger. Time chatting is how they plant addiction- this romance/money fantasy gives huge endorphin hits. An addict will do ANYTHING for supply.

if someone who you've never met in person other than staying in contact over text messages for few conversations says "Honestly, I feel that I'm worth $100 of trust", that already should've been a red flag lol.
They are in love they are blind by emotion not thinking about the situation. They why you need someone to validate the person for you. In person you can get validation form your friends or relatives or co worker to know who the person is. In other words you can see the person in real life. With a text message is kind difficult to really know who are you talking with. The profile picture can be fake. If a person you never met ask you for something then is likely a scam.

Even earlier, before letting anyone manipulate you emotionally. That's tough because it's difficult to resist psychomanipulation. Learn 'Narcissistic Red Flags', look up Prof. Sam Vaknin (self aware narcissist), Dr. Ramani, Dr. Les Carter, Michelle Lee Nieves, etc. Narcissists have no empathy, manipulate, gaslight, lie constantly, often have charisma, sadistic tendencies, etc. For normal person it's hard to believe someone can be so cruel, cunning, pretend so well to be nice, that 'love bombing' is fake, 'mirroring' is just a ruse.
In any online relationship, if the other person persuades you to spend money, then it's VERY suspicious. If the investment sounds too good, then it's even more suspicious.

@@Buttercookies0 there are people who cannot understand the love from people close to them but when not so close friends show them some concerns like asking how are you can make them feel warmth. From bazi chart we can easily spot this type of personality. Those "self punishment" people type.
@@Buttercookies0 I think is unfair to make the assumption that my mom did not receive sufficient love from family members. She receives plenty of them but all were not appreciated. She sees all kindness and cares offered to her as gestures with bad motives and intentions. Eventually, people drifts away from her as the relationship were not mutual. Due to the nature of her characters, is difficult for her to find genuine love as everyone eventually leaves her, so she looks for romantic relationships from all the wrong places. As a daughter, I'm in no place to comment on her choices of men and her behaviour. Each time when I try to talk to her sincerely, it always ended up in her condemning me saying I'm being judgemental towards her. Scammers are like this. Once you reject their "investment opportunities", they either turn nasty (angry that they could not cheat you) or guilt-trip you to pressure you to give in and invest with them.
Yup I know that. But some of them they will not care and still talk to you. After one week they will tell you about it again but they will tell you. Oh! I win from it and they are so happy and they will not tell you to invest. After a month they will tell you the same thing. And they keep teeling you that every month until you tell them oh! That's interesting I want to join by yourself. Imagine they talk you for 6 month or even a year. Everyday and manipulate you until you fall. Unfortunately that's what happend to me this week. And I lost my money. And I think I can't recover it.

Most of this guy's here are not legit, they are spoiling the image of the real licenced hackers
Yes, my story is similar to yours too. Not love scam, but online job scam. My amount is RM80k. Even borrowed money from loan sharks because was told it was time sensitive. I know it is ridiculous and stupid, but at the moment that it happened, you cannot really think straight because of the pressure. The lady in the video is right, if only we talked it out to others while we were in it, it could have helped us to think differently. Agreed. The Chinese name. The conversations in Chinese and not English even though the other person stays in Yishun. And staying in yishun, why do you need 2 weeks to meet? If romance is the objective, meeting at the void deck is also a reason to meet up. And if you are into dating, the first thing you want is to check if the person is as 'good looking' as how the picture shows. Why 2 weeks? They got to know each other from a dating website. Stick to romance. Why deviate into investment unless it was about 'investment' in the first place. And what investment need to go through a dating website to kick it off? Red flags everywhere and she walked right into it??

One of the lessons learned is - ask to borrow money from the scammers! Never dish money out.
Yes when he says only $100 you can trust me. Then say, ok, send me $90 you can trust me. 😂
$10 I also don't trust lol
Sorry this is wrong. Best advice is to refrain from time chatting/getting addicted to the criminal
Yeah but you might be implicated in money laundering if you take their money.
Nah... You think the Scammers are so dumb to lend you.......
The easiest way to escape is to block the guy when he start asking you to “invest” as simple as that. And be emotionally strong 💪🏻
Exactly. The min someone mentioned investment, money, nope nope nope.
Block them after the first trial investment, you'll get some small money for coffee and drive thru
I don't think Han Ni knows how to block anyone at Whatsapp, please, someone go & teach her!
yeah she is correct, brave for her to story with the risk of people laughing at her and calling her stupid
People can laugh, but it also can happened to them or anybody
But she is still dumb though

@@John_Smith_86 You would be surprised by how many of the victims are highly educated or intelligent. These scammers prey on people's most basic need, affection and love. You can be very smart or highly educated but you wouldn't be able to escape that basic need. And people will do alot of things to be loved.
@@John_Smith_86 Easy to talk big behind a keyboard. Ng Yu Zhi managed to con a bunch of high end professionals no? Some of whom were investment professionals, others were senior management in GLCs. When someone you meet on an app asks you to start putting $$ (whatever the amount) into some investment platform, that should start ringing all sorts of alarm bells. And if they ask for more than 1k, that's confirmation of a scam.
Most of the People who get scammed, deserves to get scammed.

Cash advance scams usually involve some form of emotional intimacy combined with greed.

She sees all kindness and cares offered to her as gestures with bad motives and intentions. Eventually, people drifts away from her as the relationship were not mutual. "yeah they know usually, but these scammers are very cunning and will find a way to convince them. Also Governments, J please weaponize Jim and others who are fighting back, since you won't/can't, I was confident you would deliver with short notice. Congratulations on a job well done! Great job team!💪🏻
Golden rule is to never trust in a person's words when you have NEVER MET in person, you never know if the other party is an imposter!
It's not that you're dumb. It's that love makes people less in control of their intelligence.
That’s not love.
so you saying love make people stupid? you can't be smart while being in love? how do you love someone you have never met in life? Perhaps she's not even smart enough to figure out what a real love is. Perhaps there isn't a definite description but it doesn't come close to not knowing the person or seen the person in life for less than 1 second.
@Seeyou Seemee yes, love is not a sin, lust is
Hearing these people's voices over the phone so thrilled to be evil, almost giddy sounding, is utterly disgusting. Thank you 𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗬𝗦𝗧 all you and your team does to shut them scammers down.
Thank You 🙏, Miss Han Ni, for being so brave and willing to share your experiences with us, an audience and for us all to grow and become a better and more scam-resilient society for us to learn and be aware of their tactics, not easy too but kuddos for the awareness and sharing 👍💪

I'm a Police officer and I'm tired of taking these reports where people are scammed anywhere from 100 to seriously $50,000. It's quite unfortunate, *VAULT GUARD EXPERT* Seriously thank you for flagging down these swindlers and doing refund. You make me want to spend my next 10 years learning how to do this.
She so brave to share her story. I am using dating apps, any guy approached me by mentioning abt invest, I just block him without more question. Sometimes people still hope that it is not a scam even they smell something fishy because of the times they have put in with the person. Somehow I just block it, I think I can meet better one or just stay single forever. sometimes need to have the “I don’t care” mindset to protect yourself.
No money should be exchanged online. No friends no stranger.
Lost a friend who did mlm

Thank you for sharing this, I recently got scammed also and it would have been prevented if I shared more details to my family and friends earlier regarding the investment. I wish you more and more blessings in the years to come, let us all fight these scammers and make this world a safer place for everyone

they deserve everything that coming to them. What they do to innocent people is awful. Thank you so much for what you do. It clearly is getting to them and love to see it.
*VAULT GUARD EXPERT* .
the moral of the story:
trust no one with your money or life. even friends you know for years. ever. period. cold hard truth in life
True. Let alone someone you never even meet before. Yeah...she is dumb
You are wrong. So you miss out on real opportunities. It takes common sense to decipher scammers. If you cant, then you wasted all your life eating rice
@@firefly4326 once bitten, twice shy my friend. call me wrong but when the day u get bitten is the day u realise that, its better to be safe than sorry. take care.
@@benzpinto i get you. But putting off someone might be good out there because of some bad experiences will be denying yourself for better things 🙂
@@firefly4326 if she doesn't have your socalled "common sense" to decipher scammers, then she doesn't miss out on any opportunities! You sound like a scammer talking about logic without logic here!
He really took the time to demonstrate it carefully and the alternative methods he provided are invaluable. Clear and concise as I like it. *VAULT GUARD EXPERT* keep up the good work
You are a brave person to open up about it all...
Thank you for coming forward to share about your loss. It certainly does make me more vigilant of scams
