Wish you didn't have to give these explanations at the beginning of the video, if people click on this video, one would think it's because they want to know. Your tips are so basic but this diet culture makes us forget common sense and it takes us on a never ending cycle of weight loss and magic tricks. Prioritizing health and focus on living your life should do it!! Totally agree!

This is hands-down the most comprehensive video of this sort ever! I've never come across anyone who would mention diet and food on the backdrop of life and overall happiness. Moderation not only applies to food but also life, and in the age of toxic productivity, the French way of living is really refreshing. As a young woman who's just gone through that period of "late teen/ early adulthood" confusion, this is super helpful. Thank you so much Lucie!

I personally loved this video! Because you are a living example of how sustainable habits can be nurtured, that lifestyle can be adopted. Especially when someone just looks at how you are now, they wouldn’t be able to guess you ever even had an issue with food. I always trusted your recommendations anyway, but this just makes me trust you even more! ❤
A request, could you make a video on cholesterol , what is it, myths around it? And how “fatty foods” such as cheese can affect that ?
Also, how often can we safely eat like processed cheese in a week?
    Thank you! ❤

Do what makes you feel healthy. There’s no universal rule for food. Also there’s no “safety” of foods. Yes they may have health effects but they’re still okay to eat depending on the persons health

Lucie, I was touched profoundly by your honesty in this video. Throughout hearing about your whole journey, I was mesmerised. Afterward I took a quiet moment to process what you shared. The truth is, I was so hesitant to watch this video for so long, simply because it had the words “weight loss” in it. For so long I have allowed the idea of weight loss to have such control over me. But then I watched your video and I quickly realised you are talking about so much more than weight loss. I see that weight loss does not have to be about restriction, deprivation or misery. For the first time, I see that weight loss can be self care. You made me understand that as soon as I stop fixating on numbers and diet trends and start incorporating things into my life that nourish my mind, body and soul, I can live more in balance and be more in touch with my body. Truly, what touched me the most was that you shared your past experiences with binge eating. As someone who struggled with binge eating disorder for years, my brain can isolate me and tell me I am the only person with this problem. I have always wondered why you became so interested in nutrition and having a harmonious relationship to food. But I must confess, I never would have thought you had personal experience with binge eating. I think it takes a lot of courage for you to share that. The greatest struggles with my binge eating disorder are definitely over and yet by hearing your story, something within me has shifted and I have such belief now that I can wholly live in harmony with my body and have a life enhancing relationship to food, the way you do. This has been something I have been joyfully working toward for a while. But now it’s a belief that I can completely release myself from my eating disorder, rather than a hope. Your experiences and the way you worked through adversity is utterly beautiful to me and innately inspiring. Can I ever thank you enough for how you help me? … ❤❤

This was very interesting to me and I’m realizing you can fall into ‘diet culture’ at any age. I’m 53 and I’ve always been thin until the past few years and I’ve been trying to find the “right” diet and gaining weight through the process. I also eat when I really just need a break and I need to correct that bad habit. Time to get back to the basics and get back in touch with my body. Great video! ❤

Loved this video! Im french and moved to the UK 8 years ago. Ive always been really thin like you, however a few years ago especially during lockdown I gained weight and I do not feel like myself anymore. It's hard because im still considered thin for people around me and they tend to basically make me feel like I can't be unhappy with my weight because I'm thin and thinner than them. I do not feel like me anymore and a lot of it is due to the portions sizes and food here in the UK, I feel like French people see food so differently and it is hard when everyone around me hasn't got the same views on food and eating. Your videos have been a massive help for me and always remind me of what is good for me. Merci Lucie 🩷

Yes, this is such a big problem in the UK! Because everyone is so much bigger these days, I think we Brits have lost sight of what a healthy weight and diet actually is. It is so noticeable when you go abroad to other European countries how much slimmer people are and how much less junk food they eat

I feel the obsessing over thighs thing. I was 10 when I first noticed the amount of weight on my thighs and that led me into a spiraling nightmare of various eating disorders and compulsive thought patterns, always thinking my legs were fat and doing everything in my power to make the fat just go away. Body dysmorphia literally had me thinking I was a normal sized girl with monstrous thighs, and most of my childhood was robbed from me because I was extremely depressed all the time over it. Discovering running kind of saved me because it improved my mental health, I became more focused on looking strong and healthy, and I was seeing a consistent drop on the scale, even though my legs looked relatively the same. It was like for the first time I was able to see myself for what I actually looked like. I’m now trying to pursue a healthy lifestyle all around. Eating as healthy as possible without depriving myself and doing enjoyable exercises regularly. I want to look and feel as good as possible, mentally and physically. I’m so glad I’m in a better place now. But just goes to show, you’re never alone. There will always be someone else who understands what you’re going through

I’ve been trying to get to lose 20 pounds for the last 6 years with no luck. I think my problem is I’ve only been following fad diets and the extremes are just not realistic for me. I’ve decided to restart my journey but this time instead of obsessively using a diet app or following a temporary diet my plan is to do two things: move more and eat fresh foods (and not worry too much about the combinations). It’s only been a week but already my mood and sleep have improved.

. As a busy mom myself I try to eat Whole Foods and cook my meals from scratch but sometimes exhaustion and hunger kicks in and grab whatever is insight even if it’s not the healthiest. It’s not good to punish oneself and have negative thoughts but easier said than done. I think if we just focus on good nutrition throughout the day it leaves us feeling satisfied and not binging on junk

I'm in a stage where I just started focusing on adding in whole foods and cutting down on my sugar intake after a period of feeling out of control with bingeing/eating tons of processed food. This made me realize that I was also using food as a way to take breaks from working 😅 Going to be more conscious of what I'm using food for in the future.

This is a great video, I love your approach to food. I’m almost 4 years into disordered eating/diet recovery, I’m 39 now. I think it’s really important for people to be aware that if they’ve been cutting food groups, it’s normal to gain A LOT of weight. I’ve gained 90lbs because I went so many years doing this. It also took me tears to get my hunger cues in order, and it took A LOT of food to get there. It can look and feel like binging when you’re coming from a place of restriction, but your body needs to fuel. The body can heal, but if you’ve been doing this for years, it’s gonna take a long time to heal.

    • @NatoshawithanO84

It’s also really important to note that when your body is getting used to digesting things it hasn’t for a long time, processed food can be your best friend. And that can last for quite awhile. The most important thing is being able to actually absorb the foods you’re eating.

I eat healthy but I’m still like 15 pounds heavier than 2 years ago. I want to lose the weight but I suffer from chronic constipation and I think I probably over eat. I tend to snack a lot, even on healthier snacks. Any tips on how to lose the weight?

My mom wants to lose weight and she wants me to lose weight as well because if I gain any more weight she says I will be chubby. My pants and clothes are tighter and I do want to be thinner or healthier. Please anyone let me know tips on how to lose some weight.

This was a great video BUT please try to bring down the amount of times that you say the word “LIKE” in a video…..

3:20 - "Diet culture" still exists today among teenage girls.
You say "like" too often 😉.
