I appreciate this! Most cruise influencers rack up perks from repeat cruises with the same line, and their cabins and perks get fancier and fancier. That’s not affordable for most people who don’t cruise regularly. So it’s good to see how “the rest of us” might travel.
I do want to try the Virtual balcony Cabin sometime and see how that would work for us. If Ocean View would have a window that opens, I would try that too
Darling please don’t travel in these boxes. I don’t care what your budget. You can spend your money on a holiday on a budget with your dignity in tact. These rooms are a scam! Would you ever stay in an everyday hotel room with no windows?
Yes it’s easy to tell them apart. Compared to the older USB-A plugs, USB-C is smaller and you can plug it in either way around and it’s typically the same connector at both ends of the cord. I know many people complain that they keep changing USB plugs, but it’s likely that we will have USB-C for quite some time before another change. That’s because it can do much more than the older kind, like carry video or 2-way power or very fast data, it isn’t just a different shape.
@@SashazurFINALLY, we get a decent charging cable design with ‘C’! Those early mini-USB and micro-USB connectors were horrible, and Lightning isn’t that great either!
I always pick an inside cabin. I'm only in there to get changed, have a shower etc, or go to sleep. I was in the Navy and never had any daylight in any of my accommodation. You just get used to it. If a balcony cabin cost the same then I would upgrade, but I prefer to save money towards another cruise.
Your comment about growing accustomed to the bedtime chocolates reminded me of visiting my friend in Phoenix years ago. Every morning I would come out to the kitchen and she would make me a latte alongside yogurt and granola with fresh fruit from her citrus trees. After I went home to my lonely apartment, I texted her and told her how I'd woken up that morning and wondered where the nice lady with my breakfast was?
I have cruised twice, both in an inside cabin. My 13 year old loves it. I cant afford any other way. There is plenty of light outside the door. We put the bow camera on the TV and we have a view out just like a window.
We love the inside cabins. Got into them when prices started to climb with the restart mid to exiting the pandemic. They are just fine. Only there to change and sleep. Have even turned on the room tv to the bow camera. No glow of the tv on when dark outside. And can look at the tv to see if the sun is coming up, like having a window.
Lol. I awake at 4am in summer. After retiring to bed at midnight. This weekend I slept from 9pm until 11am (14 hours) and I swear I only have summer or winter sleep schedules. Light levels truly affect my sleep. Ps. I loved northern Norway in November. So cosy.
Emma! My wife and I were married on a cruise; we watched this and saw the ads for the maps, we are so excited to order a map of our cruise! What a great business idea! Thank you!
On a side-note about noise and earplugs. I use the silicon dots that mould to your inner ear. They block more sound than those foam things. I have very loud neighbours!
I always enjoy your travelogues, Emma, and this was no exception. Have never sailed in an inside cabin. In Feb I’ll be taking my 50th cruise, on the Celebrity Beyond and have booked a suite in celebration of the number. Can’t wait!
Hi Emma. Was listening as I was tidying the kitchen for the night. Looked around and saw you in your blue formal dress. You looked amazing. Do like how the beds are positioned. Looks spacious. I too do not like the tv to the side; like it directly on the wall in front of the bed. Oh my. David and Steve’s suite does look amazing. Great vlog as usual. Thanks for sharing 🤗.
Hey Emma, USB A is the standard USB. you had USB C which is round one, which is newest and universal charger now. USB A is old traditional charge for USB sticks.
As usual a great vlog giving an insight to the cheapest cabin on the Queen Anne. Your filming is always so good capturing efficiently what is needed. Cabin looked good, clean and functional. Love your sense of humor Emma. The ship looks very classic Well Done Emma Thank You
My mother in law wants to take me, my husband, and our kid on a cruise next year for her 80th birthday. Keeping my fingers crossed that this happens because my husband has no interest in cruising, but he’d do it for his mom.
Just went on my first cruise since I found your channel a couple years back. It was a large family cruise planned by my older brother, but it really reinvigorated my love of cruises! I hadn't been on one in about 15 years. Definitely interested in taking another cruise some time in the near future, and I probably never would have considered cruising without having discovered this lovely channel!
Emma, you are such a cheerful and honest reviewer! You remind me of close friend in Berlin who always encouraged me to take new adventures (windsurfing in the North Sea!), and your taste in boat neck shirts does not go unnoticed! Thank you for sharing your passion!
I loved having a cosy "nest" to retreat to. We only slept in our room and it was a smaller cruise ship so the public areas weren't crowded. There were plenty of places to explore and hang out on board. I also appreciated not having any smell waftingg from other people's balconies. I was happy with an inside room
After only booking balcony or above, I recently booked the smallest inside room, a 10ft. X 10 ft. cozy, quiet, floor 2 cabin. I slept like a baby, loved the darkness, the lack of traffic, and minimal motion. It truly was my zen cave for a solo cruise. So glad I ignored the advice of the travel agent.
Nice review😊 One thing I noticed is that your suitcase was taking up room in the closet. We always put our suitcases under the bed on a cruise, in order to free up closet space.
My dear husband and I just did our first ever 'inside cabin' Only because we booked very, very last minute (like a week before sailing) I loved it! So dark, so quiet. I'd seriously consider booking an inside room again. Normally I sleep with my window open (I need fresh air and cool/cold) but...the air con was more than adequate. Sadly it was a horrible cruise, but not because of our room.
Fun to see your thoughts on the ship. We are booked on the maiden transatlantic in January and can’t wait. But we are all the way forward overlooking the bow (right above the bridge) so could be a bit of a rollercoaster if the seas are rough!
This channel has been my 🇺🇸 election and general onset of winter escape! I’m here for every review, knowing full well the probability my family will cruise is less than 1% 😎
I also have never taken a cruise and never will! Won’t even get into a canoe!!! But being stuck with thousands of,people I don’t know and don’t care about along with the entertainment I’d never use…….! I’d rather take a car and drive anywhere in the US. I appreciate these videos very much - cruising with my iPad is more enjoyable!
As I took my Queen Anne cruise with a friend, we splurged on a balcony cabin, which is super rare for me. Great to see your review of the inside cabins - I think these rooms look lovely, but they're really dark due to all that dark blue paint. I had an Inside on Deck 1 on Holland America's Rotterdam last year, and LOVED it down there!
Hey! Love your stuff, but I work in IT and just want to provide a slight correction. The new version of USB is USB-C (the oval). Fun Fact, USB-A is what most people call just "USB" (the rectangle box) that always takes 3 attempts to plug into. Either way, very cool to see them adopting the new USB-C standard!
Guaranteed to have a cabin that’s guaranteed to be a cabin… In hotel rooms recently in the USA, there’s very little light: once it’s dark outside it’s quite dark in the room. That cabin looks quite well-lit!
I love inside rooms there so dark with the lights off which is the best for sleeping and this is coming from somone who does 4+ cruses per year honestly in a way it reminds me of sleeping in my semi truck so it feels familiar in a way
I did the transatlantic crossing on Cunard’s QM2 in the summer, solo occupancy of the cheapest cabin I could find. It was of course an inside cabin, right at the front of the ship on Deck 6. It was a perfectly good cabin and I’m glad the extra money I would have had to pay for a cabin with a window or balcony remains in my pocket!
Emma, thank you for this review. I am glad that Cunard is making ships and ocean liners that preserve the past but are also are routed in the present. One thing I caught when you were narrating it was the use of the word "elevator." Has our American word been chipping away at the British word "lift"? Always interested in language and how it changes over time.
Inside cabins are good for Alaskan cruises due how early the sun rises during peak season. Bad if the sea's rough because you have no visual reference for the motion. Cunard's bathroom layouts are near identical Holland America. Full size showers are nice. I did an inside on Princess earlier this year and it was like washing in a coffin. Yet they're all owned by the same company.
That was a great opportunity to cruise and brought it here what a treat - I still bring a fluorescent marker every time for potential paper schedules and a magnet or 2 to hang it up 😎
Oh yay! I enjoyed your jaunt into the fancy cabins on the last few videos, but as a person existing in this world of inflation and shareholder profits, I'm barely hanging on to the lower middle class. I love your channel because you are one of the few that feature affordability. I love how you plan your own excursions because ship excursions are way overpriced, and how you always give us pointers on how to save money by doing things like analyzing the value of the drinks package or staying in a less desirable room. I really appreciate you!
Can’t help but wonder what checks I could put in place to become aware if someone had broken into my room and used the toilet.I can’t stop laughing thinking about that scenario. Have a great week ahead Emma 😀
Appreciate your budget cabin cruise reviews, thank you! For future, it might be worth having a VPN installed in case the ship's wifi doesn't allow certain sites there are free and paid ones.
We did 2 weeks in an inside cabin to Scotland/Iceland on Queen Anne...it was our 1st sideways cabin....we found it absolutely fine...the bathroom was amazing...and I must say we had the best cabin steward we have EVER had on this cruise (July 24) and we have done 20+...mostly inside cabins...but if we get a good deal we splurge on an Oceanview...or maybe a balcony...whoo who!!! Love your work Emma 😊
Your 'Britishism' of the day should have been about the cleaning and 'hoovering'....to my chagrin of running pub quizzes for many years apparently Hoover is a brand name and to Vacuum (or vacumming) is the proper term as it is not a brand just how to clean with a suction device! Love the reviews as always :O)
Oh yay! I was just feeling some anxiety for no reason and then I saw that you had posted, I love your interesting and calming videos! Thanks so much for cheering up my afternoon 😊
Emma, I tried an inside cabin for the first time on my last cruise aboard MSC Seashore. The cabin was doable on the 3-night cruise however I need a natural sunlight! It felt too enclosed for me. I'll stick with Balcony or window cabin. Glad I tried it!
Great video. We had inside cabin Deck 11 in September. Side wall TV did not bother us only watched bridge cam. I would not hesitate to book another inside cabin. We had a wonderful experience on the ship. Only negative Queens Room small still able get seat for afternoon tea. Thank you for reminding me what a great ship Queen Anne is. Need to rethink about a cruise next year.
I think the room is fine for sleeping, showering, toileting and dressing. How much time do you really want to spend in your cabin? In relation to the ‘only one door out’ thought, what really are you going to do on a balcony in an emergency? Jump?
I have hip and back problems and had to rest, stretch exercises and do ice packs (crushed ice in ziploc bags I brought). Absolutely loved having a view to enjoy so I didn’t feel I missed as much. Also we’ve been on 2 cruises in 15 yrs so we want to get the most for our money- they are expensive and we don’t live near a coastline. We enjoy the view while getting ready or waiting on my husband to get ready. So that’s what we do besides sleep and change clothes.
I watched this one twice, once with my wife (whose becoming an Emma fan) and once by myself so I could like it. You look lovely, particularly in that blue dress.
Nice video. I just found your channel. I looked up this ship and they are doing 109 day cruises around the world! That's extremely exciting and out of my price range, of course. I couldn't imagine being in the same cabin for nearly half of the year!
Our eyeballs are always drawn to an inside cabin review! Queen Anne's inside cabin looks well-appointed and much better than the cabin we had on QM2. Thanks for this 👀👍
Great video, honest review and better than many other reviews I've watched. I've always thought about taking a cruise holiday, but I've never done it. I always end up changing my plans for an all-inclusive resort or long city break. I haven't found a cruise ship (and review) that could convince me. While they offer a great opportunity to visit multiple destinations, I think most of them are traps and rip-offs, charging you a fortune for anything other than the basics. Maybe your videos will convince me to take one in the near future. By the way, I laughed hysterically with the noise recorded at the P&O mentioned at the end of the video 😂
I saw a video where you mention motion sickness. I suffer from it also. There is a medication called Meclazine [sp]. No side effects and it’s only about $10/100. It allowed me to race sailing boats for years and never had an issue.
Great vlog! My wife and I are “Cunarders”. We’ve been on all three Queens several times and plan on cruising on QA early January 2025. If you ever decide to cuise on QA again, be sure to check out the musician couple/group that goes by the name of Amethyst. Paul and Kathryn (from your homeland) are fantastic! Thanks for the travel updates. You Rock! 👍🎉😘
Nice video as always, Emma 🙂 While I definitely love the design of the room and the ship, I don't think I will ever cruise on Cunard because I don't like the higher dress code. I like to be dressed nicely, but too formal, it's a no-go for me. I would have to buy extra clothes just for the cruise and that's just something I won't do. Anyway, I'm glad cruising offers diverse type of ambiance, so there's definitely something for everyone 🙂 Looking forward to see the rest of the ship and your opinion about it. Bye !
8:53 "Dressing Gown" is popular enough in Canada .... I almost never hear anyone say "Robe" unless they are talking about Judge. But "House Coat" is a more common phrase for a Dressing Gown in my area of Canada .. :)
How is Hudson doing? He is so cute and adorable love you made staffed animal and wrote incredible children books about crusies and he is the main character love that ❤️❤️🎄🎄🎄🎄
Emma. Huge fan of your channel. Just an idea but maybe make arrangements with a particular ship prior to have an in’s and out’s detailed behind the scenes of operations video? Think this could take your videos to the next level?
I really liked my tiny, interior cabin. I was a solo cruiser and it was like being wrapped up in a warm hug. Of course I loved the cruise with a balcony that other cruise too.
I spent a major part of my life serving in the US Navy and the US Merchant Marine. I hardly ever saw daylight except when we got to port. I didn't have a cabin with a porthole. Slept in a compartment with over 50 other guys in the Navy. Usually shared a cabin with two or three in the Merchant Marine. I'd love to go on a cruise and not be working in the engine room and listening to a bunch of other guys snoring. Hope to go on one in the spring.
How was ventilation in your small cabin? Can you regulate the temperature up and down? Fan speed? How about white noise, such as with a small desktop fan?
I enjoyed my private interior cabin. meanwhile we would hang out at friends balcony cabin. Boy it would get humid in that room from the door being opened.
13:45 I have a special knife that cuts fresh potatoes into the "Crinkle Cut" shape! It is very time consuming to do though so I do not use it very often :)
We were just on the NCL Pearl inside, and there was no stuff drawer! There were only 2 drawers, 1 each. We definitely needed more drawers. I loved the drawers in the nightstands on P&O Britannia inside.
I always book a suite with deck because I cruise because I enjoy being out on the ocean. I’m not interested in shows or activities. I spend most of my cruise reading on the balcony. I just love it there. I also prefer either forward or aft suites because I love the motion of the sea.
Ok, you sold me on the cruise maps. I just placed my orders for album maps of my last 3 cruises. I am curious to see what they look like. Just a note, a map preview would be nice to have before you order.
Hey hey!! At the moment a preview isn't possible because the data doesn't exist, we have to get it and check it and edit if necessary. Coming soon though we have a free website called Cruise Globe and on there you'll be able to preview the cruises, woohoo. Thanks so much for ordering!! Exciting.
Last place I want to spend much time on a cruise, is the cabin. Only to sleep , shower and keep clothing. I'm on a cruise to sunbath, eat , drink, relax outside, sight seeing. I can sit inside at home
We cruised on QM2 this fall and had once of the Atrium interior cabins on Deck 5. This was a midship location and a short walk to everything. It was functional but compared to our usual balcony choice I will never do another interior cabin again. The fact that it had a window overlooking the central atrium was its appeal but compared to the last time we chose an interior cabin it was a disappointment. That was on RCCL Freedom of Seas and it was a Promenade interior with a large bay window and seating that looked out over the central promenade. We could view all the activities from there and it was short walk to get down to the shops.
Can somebody tell me please, why there seems to always be an oilskin type mat laid out on the bed? I admit im totally ignorant on cruise etiquette. I dunno, the mat on the bed looks uncomfortable, not the sort of snuggly thing youd put on a bed. Genuinely interested. Thanks x

Can’t help but wonder what checks I could put in place to become aware if someone had broken into my room and used the toilet.I can’t stop laughing thinking about that scenario. Have a great week ahead Emma 😀
We go on our first ever cruise next September. Independence of the seas. Balcony cabin. Total buzzing for it. 🎉😊
@@NZKiwi87 Awh so glad I could help! The comments make me anxious so this nice one helped me haha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Emma, I tried an inside cabin for the first time on my last cruise aboard MSC Seashore. The cabin was doable on the 3-night cruise however I need a natural sunlight! It felt too enclosed for me. I'll stick with Balcony or window cabin. Glad I tried it!
So now you know!!!❤
😂😂😂😂
Great video. We had inside cabin Deck 11 in September. Side wall TV did not bother us only watched bridge cam. I would not hesitate to book another inside cabin. We had a wonderful experience on the ship. Only negative Queens Room small still able get seat for afternoon tea. Thank you for reminding me what a great ship Queen Anne is. Need to rethink about a cruise next year.
Thanks for the video:) I suggest to the Cruise line for those windowless cabins a larger TV screen with video feeds of the outside:)
I think the room is fine for sleeping, showering, toileting and dressing. How much time do you really want to spend in your cabin? In relation to the ‘only one door out’ thought, what really are you going to do on a balcony in an emergency? Jump?
That's what I said!
Thanks for this 👀👍
I love your honest comments,thanks.
Candied/dried ginger costs pennies and cures motion sickness almost instantly.
You Rock! 👍🎉😘
Looking at it I like this bed position better than the one facing the door
Nice video as always, Emma 🙂 While I definitely love the design of the room and the ship, I don't think I will ever cruise on Cunard because I don't like the higher dress code. I like to be dressed nicely, but too formal, it's a no-go for me. I would have to buy extra clothes just for the cruise and that's just something I won't do.
Anyway, I'm glad cruising offers diverse type of ambiance, so there's definitely something for everyone 🙂 Looking forward to see the rest of the ship and your opinion about it. Bye !
If you moved the other bed towards the wall and put the end table in the middle you would have more room instead of losing room near the desk :)
8:53 "Dressing Gown" is popular enough in Canada .... I almost never hear anyone say "Robe" unless they are talking about Judge. But "House Coat" is a more common phrase for a Dressing Gown in my area of Canada .. :)
Love the callout to Dear Modern! I love his channel too!
How is Hudson doing? He is so cute and adorable love you made staffed animal and wrote incredible children books about crusies and he is the main character love that ❤️❤️🎄🎄🎄🎄
He's here right now helping me eat a yogurt, haha! Thanks so much 🥹❤️
@@EmmaCruises Aww so cute your welcome 💚🎄❤️🛳️❤️🎄🎁🎁❤️
@@EmmaCruises fun that you showed hudson taking a shower :)
Emma. Huge fan of your channel. Just an idea but maybe make arrangements with a particular ship prior to have an in’s and out’s detailed behind the scenes of operations video? Think this could take your videos to the next level?
👀 eyeballs. Love my captain Hudson got 3 extra for Christmas gifts. They will be cruising soon. I liked the cabin.
Thank you so so much!!! ❤
Hi Emma. I love to watch your videos. They're relaxing and fun. Dear Modern is a great channel too. I totally agree,👍
That ship looks lovely. Ive never considered cunard butvthat looks appealing.
I always book interior cabins. I leave the TV on the ship’s bow camera to have a private sunrise. The public decks are much nicer than any balcony.
I'm on team more video of Emma in formal wear! 🥰🥰🥰 Stunning 😍
13:45 I have a special knife that cuts fresh potatoes into the "Crinkle Cut" shape! It is very time consuming to do though so I do not use it very often :)
Excellent review Emma, i really need to take a cruise now 🚢
We were just on the NCL Pearl inside, and there was no stuff drawer! There were only 2 drawers, 1 each. We definitely needed more drawers. I loved the drawers in the nightstands on P&O Britannia inside.
Thanks Emma, enjoy the inside cabin reviews..nice one
I always book a suite with deck because I cruise because I enjoy being out on the ocean. I’m not interested in shows or activities. I spend most of my cruise reading on the balcony. I just love it there. I also prefer either forward or aft suites because I love the motion of the sea.
I slept in one of those rooms! Slept like a baby! Complete darkness. I even put a towel under the door.
Great Adventure Emma 👍👍Looking forward to seeing your next video 👍👍
Hey hey! Thanks for following along with my cruise, really appreciate it 😀❤️
Ok, you sold me on the cruise maps.
Exciting.
11/23/24: Spend two years in the Army (U.S.) in Alaska, in the barracks. Her room in comparison is the Taj Mahal.
Love Terry's chocolate oranges! Altho I prefer dark.
As crew member, I'd pay for that kind of cabin. Ours are tiny ahahah
That carpet reminds me of sashiko - a style of Japanese embroidery.
Ooo!! I love that! 🎉
Argh! I was just about to go to bed, and now I have stay up another seventeen and a half minutes!
Haha! You can close your eyes and I'll be reading you a bed time story??! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Me too😂
@@EmmaCruises I could make a quip about that costing extra, but I'm way too classy for that!
I love how you show us all the details of the cheapest cabin. And to do so with your brother is pure madness :)
I don’t normally comment on this stuff, but your dress at minute 4:35 was absolutely beautiful
Thank you! 😁❤️
Hi Emma, love the channel. Just ordered a Captain Hudson to join us on our cruises, thanks a lot !
Thanks so so much!! 🥳🥳🥳
Wish there were even cheaper options, like a dormitory. I've stayed in lots of hostels and usually enjoy the experience.
Thanks x
It's only there on the first day, so you can put your case on it to unpack. Keeps the bedding clean. Then it magically disappears by bedtime...🪄
@gaynor247 thanks
@@jacquelinebray4199 You're very welcome.....
Is for protecting the linen in case you place your luggage on the bed
