I’m an old ICU nurse who now works as a nurse auditor (we review records for over charges, under charges or wrong CPT codes). As a result, I see bills from hospital systems all over the country. Your charges look pretty normal - the only difference I see is some of the supplies they billed you for are included in the E/M in an ED. Most hospital systems don’t charge for supplies under a certain dollar amount, like 50 dollars or 100 dollars - you don’t want to spend 50 dollars of an auditor, coder or biller’s time to track down and charge a 5 dollar disposable thermometer. You’d pay about that for a trip to an urgent care, your insurance would cover 80% of it, and you’d end up with $150-160 you actually owed. This is interesting to me, because I’ve always wondered how things were billed on cruise ships.
Your integrity is part of your personality along with your kindness, humor, occasional funny snarkiness, and your respect for other people. These are the reasons I love watching your videos. We were on Freedom of the Seas in 2016. We did a Lazer tag excursion in Mexico, and I fell down and hit my elbow on the gravel walkway. It was cut and bleeding. The guide wrapped it, and when I got back on board, I went to Medical. The nurse washed it, applied an antibiotic, and wrapped it. She also gave me extra antibiotic and gauze. The fee? NOTHING!! Thank you, Royal Caribbean!! When I went to the doctor a few months later, it turns out I had fractured it, but it had healed on its own.
I believe one of the reasons that you are so popular is that you are an every day man that we can trust. You give us honest opinions, keep it positive whenever possible and you have integrity. That is the kind of channel I want to follow. Glad you are on the mend.
Hi as a former plus sized model who loves to cruise and a Healthcare provider. I always cruise with a few supplies to help with very common orthopedic injuries for myself and husband. I take a set of knee and elbow braces sized for us. As you found out getting a brace to fit when your over 150lbs its really hard. Kenisiology tape which can act as a brace or extra support. Tylenol and ibuprofen. Ace wraps and athletic tape. A fresh set of Orthotics if you wear them and lastly a few gallon sizes ziplock bags so you can and apply ice to an injury. This all fits in a small tool bag. All in might have cost $80 max but has come in really hand for unexpected injury until you can be seen or get you home to be seen my your provider
@@shelcheese8344 As a plus sized woman with occasional knee pain, I brought a folding cane on my last cruise out of Athens. I was very happy I did. It was a great help on the cobblestones and areas with no railings. I was wishing I had brought an Ace bandage and will add one to my "medical supplies" pouch I travel with. I will also add some of the items you mentioned. Someone on my last cruise was on the cruise FB page and reached out requesting an Ace Bandage for a twisted knee. Another cruiser was able to provide one for them. Although my knee has not been hurting at all lately, I am bringing my folding cane on my Christmas Market river cruise next month just in case! Thank you for the tips!
Mr Dilly cruises a lot with a bad right knee, being stubborn like you Tony I refuse to have the knee replacement surgery and I basically live off of Voltaren and Ibuprofen when I cruise. but I do exercises that really helps and stretches.... Good luck with your knee Sir 🙏👍😎
You did the right thing by being honest. My husband had to go to medical on embarkment day of our honeymoon cruise. We hadn’t left the dock or even attended the muster drill and we were already in medical for what they diagnosed as a panic attack. We had travel insurance but our medical insurance ended up reimbursing us. I swear by travel insurance and agree with you that’s it’s better to have it and not need it then to get stuck with an outrageous bill.
I agree with your honesty and appreciate it. Those charges are all more than fair. As a nu4se tha5 worked an an ER each price sounded less than what you would of been charged in our ER. The last neoprene knee brace I got f4om my Orthopedic Dr office was $96 an it looked just like yours! I'm actually glad to know they're not overcharging for the medical services they provide. I hope your knee is better soon.
I’m an RN with 35 years experience, advanced trauma, life support advanced, cardiac life support trained. You made the right call, an accident refers to a fall a slip a trip, which results in the knee being injured. Stepping up on it when it is already bad is not an accident, you did the right thing. I’ve never used medical on a ship, however, you reminded me I will always buy trip insurance from here on out. Unfortunately, I’m headed two weeks down to Australia, New Zealand on Silversea and did not buy trip insurance, (which must be bought within the first week).
You can go through an independent company like Allianz. I booked an Australian cruise over two years ago. It sails in February and I just recently got coverage.
@@Retiredtraveler1961 Yeah, definitely look into buying it separately asap. Personally, I never travel without it, and I certainly wouldn't do an amazing, long distance, and very expensive trip like that without it... I hope you have a wonderful time!
@@Retiredtraveler1961 10% is about the cost. Next time get insurance right away. This late might not cover pre existing conditions. But there are some policies that do if final balance has not been paid.
I’m with you. People trying to scam insurance companies is one reason rates are so high, plus, honesty is the way to go…always. Am glad it wasn’t anything worse! Will be anxious to hear what you actually did to your knee. I had knee issues a few years ago and I knew exactly what you meant about pain so bad you wanted to pass out. Ugh!
More like insurance companies get away with scamming people there is no law for them all insurance companies are scams you pay for insurance when it’s time to use it you have to fight for them to pay out so who’s really the scammer
Here's my story. Last month I was on the Queen Mary 2. Not too long after leaving Le Havre, France bound for New York I experienced sudden gastric bleeding. Like Tony, I was outside the regular hours of the medical center, but it was an emergency so I called the number and someone met me there. I was placed in a treatment room and the doctor came and said I would have to be evacuated from the ship due to blood loss (they don't carry blood supplies). All in all, I was in there for about two hours before being airlifted back to France via helicopter. The bill from the ship was a surprising $1,300. Surprising in a good way. They had to put in an IV to give me fluids and an antibiotic, along with other services. Small price to pay for someone saving your life. After a $90,000 helicopter ride I ended up with a couple weeks and two surgical procedures in a French hospital ($12,000). Thank god for my travel insurance! I was totally blindsided by this gastric trouble (no prior symptoms), so get your travel insurance no matter how healthy you think you are.
@@billsmith281 To be fair, that "ride" included an emergency team of a doctor, nurse, and technician who made sure all of the harnesses and things were properly attached so I didn't go plummeting down to the deck while thy hoisted me up to the helicopter. I was in a very bad way -it's hard to put a price tag on someone saving your life.
I am a RN, disabled and don't work anymore but to tell you the truth I am surprised the bill wasn't higher. When I worked in the hospital I was shocked to hear we charged over $10 for a band-aid. Everything we used on a patient was charged through scanning their bracelets. It made me feel really crappy about what we were charging patents for but it wasn't in my hands. This was while working at 2 different hospitals in south FL.
I absolutely respect how you handled it! In Aug 2023, I got Covid on our Alaskan cruise. I self isolated (with 103 fever). Medical caught wind I was sick. They called me and offered me a MD visit which I declined. They offered me the anti viral at the tune of almost $800 which I also declined after telling me I would need to pay out of pocket. (I am a stage 4 thriver patient, nobody got extra money to spend on medical bills.) anywho, for the call to me, I got charges about $150. I didn’t submit to the insurance but at $800, I would have.
I’m obviously a couple of weeks behind due to being on a different cruise and I don’t know if this will show up for you, Tony, but I really appreciate your integrity and the way you approach even changing situations. It’s a breath of fresh air. Thank you for the information but especially the character you bring with it.
Just want to say that I had a very similar experience earlier this year. I was lifting some weights and felt a “pop” like you described, but in my back. It really hurt but I muddled through. It felt like it was getting better, and about a week or 10 days later I did the simplest thing and was bending over to pick up laundry and WHAM - it was very suddenly much worse than ever before. So much pain - needed a brace, needed ibuprofen … all of that. really felt 10x worse. Eventually healed - but I hear you! Would love to understand how the second time re-injured it to such a degree. Hope that you feel better soon!
Exactly same here. After a year I am finally getting better. Much like you powered through Alaska and Seattle. But having access to the video of how to access medical could also be helpful for others.
Hi Tony. Glad you're home and going to see the Dr's. That bill from the cruise line is crazy high. I can't believe they charged you $2.00 for the bandaid after they took your blood. Wow!! You are correct, it wasn't an accident, it was an incident. Yes always get travel insurance. Feel better. As always thank you for all you do ❤
Sadly, you'd be charged more than that in any emergency department on land. You just wouldn't see the breakdown so specifically. It would only say "supplies" with one total. You'd be shocked if you really knew the cost of what you're being charged for common things here in America.
I just incurred a medical bill on my trip on Allure last week. Started feeling a bit ill on the morning of day 3. A bit ill led to nausea, which led to extreme nausea and vomiting, which led to a very bad fit of vertigo (never had it before) because we had an interior room. That led to extreme dehydration and put me on the edge of ketosis due to the lack of food and water. All this in the span of 36hrs. Spent about 5hrs in a medical center bed, 2 liters of saline drip IV, promethazine injection to stop the nausea/vertigo, 4 units of insulin plus potassium, and calcium injection. Everything included was over $2,100. I did have the travel insurance, though it is supplemental and only covers what my regular health insurance will not. It is definitely worth having the insurance.
Glad you’re feeling better! I went to medical for an emergency on RC Freedom of the Seas. Diagnosed with angioedema. My tongue swelled and filled my mouth… BP too high to get epinephrine right away. Literally thought I was going to die at sea. Scariest time of my life. Bill was about $2300. Compared to a land ER it would have been about the same. Submitted to my regular insurance they payed about half. Top tip: make sure to have your list of medications (name and dosage). You will NOT be able to remember what meds you are on in an emergency. Also a contact list for family on land (I was on a girls trip)
FYI if on Medicare and you have plan G it will pay/reimburse 80% of costs during the first 60 days of the trip. You do have an annual deductible so if you haven’t met that yet you have to pay that then they will cover 80%.
oooo, ouch! popping! Both my mom and one of my sons had this happen one time, and both of them had a meniscus tear. Hoping you get good news at the doctor.
Kudos to you for being honest and requesting the correct form. Watching your vlog on that, I was shocked to know you can do all of that at the medical center. Thank you for sharing
I hope your knee is doing much better. We just got back home from the same cruise on the Bliss. It was cool to see you a couple of times there. I believe you did the right thing with the forms. I hope you were somewhat comfortable on the flight home. God Bless
$812 seems like a lot but it you had gone to an ER it would have been much higher. Thank you for your honestly it says alot about your character. Good thing for the travel insurance.
You are exactly right & you did the right thing IMO. I am with you…I feel like if I am not truthful something worse will happen to me. The charges are not a surprise to me. I hope you get good news from your doctor and you don’t have to have surgery. Take care!!
Tony, as others have said Honesty is the best Policy and you being honest and upfront and not trying to get out of a doctor bill shows the type of person you are and why So many watch you every day. Thank you sharing your trip and little visit to the ship Doctor.
Aw man, I had knee trouble around ten years ago, I was playing murderball, sorry, football, it's all sorted now, and know how painful it can be (I passed out once with the pain), need plenty of rehab aka walking exercises to build up the the ligament damage, takes forever though, wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery Tony.
Tony you are someone that sets a great example in so many ways! I hope your knee is healing and getting stronger. You share so many wonderful videos on your travels and we all send healing and comforting wishes to you! Take care!
I wouldn't have volunteered 12:54 that your knee was "jacked up" when you got on the ship, but you did the right thing in telling them there was no accident. You were doing like everyone else and there was no accident.
Hubby just fell in our cabin and broke his femur. Two days in the ship’s med center until we reached Bermuda $6000 charged to our credit card. Surgery in Bermuda and a six day hospital stay was $55,000. Required first class flight home was another $7,000. Had to cancel 4 upcoming cruises. Thank goodness for travel insurance plus our BC/BS. A lot of paperwork but Aon was very helpful and in the end we only had less than a $1,000 out of pocket. We were also reimbursed for the unused portion of our cruise. Aon is the insurance for all 3 cruise lines involved and I have nothing but praise for them. They made all the arrangements for our flight home which was extremely helpful. Once all paperwork was filed, reimbursement was prompt. But we have realized that $25,000 for medical coverage isn’t enough have have taken out an annual GeoBlue policy for medical expenses.
@ we booked travel insurance through the cruise lines. Didn’t realize before the accident that they all insure through Aon. That made the paperwork somewhat easier for us since once I submitted it Aon would use it for our multiple claims (cancelled cruises, unused portion of the cruise and all the medical claims).
Were you on the transatlantic crossing on the Oasis that departed Barcelona on October 24th? Just asking because we had a passenger onboard who had a medical event and we needed to drop them off at Bermuda and it took 2 days to get there. I didn't know what had happened to the passenger, but I was so worried about them because they had to wait 2 who days for a medical evacuation. I would have been beside myself if that had happened to my husband. Regardless, I hope you both are okay. That must have been traumatizing.
@ we were on the Mariner of the Seas going to Bermuda. It was scary as he couldn’t move and there are blood clot worries. Bermuda took great care of both of us, both medically and emotionally. We couldn’t have for better care and treatment. Happened Oct 2023 and recovery took awhile but we are back to cruising.
Your video showing the ship from the tender boat was great. Husband and I were watching and both commented on how much we liked that footage. It’s a pretty ship.
Tony, honesty is always the best policy...even though it did cost you money. Especially in this case because an accident claim almost always starts going to insurances and THEY can be a pain in the butt for them today the claim. Similar to you backing your car into your garbage can and then trying to claim that as an accident. Anyway, keep that knee brace with you on all your travels since you may need it again. It does sound a bit like a 'dislocation' which repaired itself on the second pop and you may have the issue again.
A friend did a back to back after a TA on NCL. They made her move to a new cabin... she started scratching, really bad. Classic bed bug bites but she didn't realize it. She went to the infirmary and they treated her with an IV and they charged her $1700 USD. Bed bugs and they charged her! Be very careful about using medical services onboard.
I think you did the right thing. I was trying to figure out why someone was saying on the last video that you shouldn’t have to pay. medical assistance costs money. If they had hurt you somehow then that’s different. I do hope your knee heals well and fast.
You absolutely did the right thing! I believe in a clear conscience. The truth is never wrong. Both my husband and I would have done the same because, well, that is what an adult does. “Trust that man in nothing who has not a conscience in everything.” -Laurence Stern, late 18th century. It’s the way my mama raised me, and obviously the way your mom raised you. Kudos! Hope it heals quickly and you’re back all ship-shape in no time.
I think you did the right thing. It shows you have integrity and were not willing to lie even for a substantial benefit. Please let us know how the claim goes. I’m really curious about that process and outcome.
A man of integrity. You switch your channel to being about training monkeys (something I no longer want to learn at my age) and I would still watch your channel. It's so difficult to find people who don't and won't try to manipulate the system. Kudos to you sir, kudos in abundance.
I agree with you. Good things come to people that do good things, and bad things come to people that do bad things. You're good people. The world needs more good people. All things considered, the bill doesn't seem that bad to me. Google says: Charges for a basic metabolic test ranged from $35 to $7,303, depending on the hospital; the median charge was $214. Take care Tony!
On a RC 7 day cruise followed by a two week stay in Nassau. I had a similar issue. Just walking along, and my knee just gave out. I did not go to the onboard Doc because I really really do not like Doctors. I was only able to limp to the dining room or poolside and just sit. No excursions. Bahamas was worse. The condo we stayed in was around the corner from Atlantis, so walking to dinner was a good walk. By the time I got home and visited my primary, my other knee was aching from depending on it. Turn's out I have arthritis in both knees. I have lost a good bit of weight which has helped. And I found that sitting or standing for long periods makes it worse. As long as I'm moving at work I usually haveno problems.
My daughter fainted on Princess, and when we got the bill, we were actually charged multiple "OBSERVATION" fees...absolute nickel and diming, but that's how EVERYWHERE is doing it, even our veterinarian, the new way of the world!
I think you did the right thing. I had a similar thing happen to me on a MSC cruise. I trip over a lounger on our deck and twisted my knee, which it had just been replaced about 4 months prior. We had an excursion scheduled for the next morning and i called them to cancel it so they would not be looking or waiting on us. It was not long after I got a phone call wanting to know if I needed to see the medical group on board or if I needed to fill out an accident report. I said no, my knee was still healing and it would be fine and it was nobody's fault but my own. They called and checked on me 3 other times that week. I know they need to protect themselves from the sue happy people out there and it's kinda sad they do. But glad they checked on me just the same.
You were honest! I'm not surprised, but I am pleased to have my opinion of you confirmed. I feel like your $800 bill for x-rays and tests was a good value compared to my $500 bill to have a blistered sun burn covered in ointment and wrapped with gauze.
I had a accident on board a RCCL cruise ship. Had to have sutures in my mouth and lower lip. My medical bill came to $48 . For the consumables Had to go to med E R for removal of sutures. Was surprised and relieved.
Respect the way you handled the situation with the accident form. Had to go to medical once on a cruise-I had something floating in my eye and was concerned as I had cataract surgery a few weeks previously. I had called my home ophthalmologist and it was recommended I be seen. A nurse did my intake and as soon as she realized that it was an eye issue, she said she could send me to an ophthalmologist at our next port which was San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ship medical clinic made all the arrangements. The doctor I saw was great and thankfully nothing serious was wrong. I paid the ship $149. Worth every penny for them to arrange everything. And then $100 cash to the doctor. Again, worth every penny. And yes, I had trip insurance and was reimbursed.
Yes I wentvto medical on NCL Escape in 2020, ore covid. Slipped on water on a sun deck. After a few hours, tie was bruised. Told medicalI will not be charged since it happened on their ship. Did x ray, wrapped it. Security asked me what kind of shoes I was wearing. Flip flops of course! Asked my husband questions and we walked to area to show him. Water still running from a nearby machine. He got crew to put orange cones in area. No bill, no charge.
I had an injury on my last cruise. I fell because I tried to stop the elevator from closing with my foot. It grabbed my foot and throw me to the ground. I fell flat on my back, unable to catch my breath initially but was able to get back to me room with my husbands help. I went to medical the following day due to severe spasms. It was scary. I too had them call security and they took me through the entire process as if it was an injury claim. We had to go to the scene of the incident. Took pictures then had to return to my room to take pictures of the shoes I had on when it happened. I explained that I was not taking fault to the cruise line. Stating it was my stupidity. But we had some laughs about it as my husband was in isolation for Covid at the time. So we had the table outside and security was taking photos of my shoes in many different positions outside the door. I can only imagine what people were thinking. A crime scene perhaps🤣 Anyhow I did get some treatment and the cost was covered through insurance I had purchased.
I know someone who was dropped by the staff while getting onto a tender, the fall caused cuts, bruises and a broken back which bled into the spinal canal and by the end of the cruise it caused paralysis and complications that resulted in his death a week later. The X-ray taken onboard was so bad in quality it didn't show the break, and they only gave him enough pain pills for 1 per day instead of every 4 hours. The incompetence was astounding.
“You’re a good man, Charlie Brown”! You dealt with the situation honestly and I would have done the same. I’m not even a little surprised at the cost. I would have expected it to be more. I believe, as an RN that worked in a major hospital, that the cost for the same from the ER would have been much higher.
Thanks for sharing the process for medical on board. As for the suffering through physical injury, my mother-in-law used to tell me "Nobody's handing out any medals." After I sprained my left foot, but kept walking on it, I learned my lesson. My left foot never fully healed and is weaker now, because I never let it recover.
I broke my foot on a tour of Marseille three years ago when I got back to the boat, I went to medical they x-rayed my foot and said it was fine and gave me an ace bandage. When I got back, I went to the urgent care clinic. They x-rayed it and say oh yeah that’s absolutely broken and they put it in a boot and three years later it’s still not completely healed. After being told my foot wasn’t broken. I spent three days walking around Barcelona and other places in Spain before I flew home and did incalculable damage that I would not have done. Had I not been told it was fine. I contacted the cruise line and eventually negotiated a refund of my medical cost and a credit towards a future cruise. The x-ray and the trip to the doctor cost me $550 I have no intention of writing on that cruise line again and the $750 cruise credit has expired It was not royal Caribbean. It was not Norwegian. It was not princess. It was not any of the major ones, but it was a premium cruise line.
I only wish more people were as honest. I’ve worked as a nurse on a cruise ship. Each company has their policy regarding accidents that occur to passengers and who covers the expenses. At one point, my company did not charge the guest for an “accident “ if it occurred on board (getting on/off tender is a gray area). But that same company changed its policy to charge any accident for medical care. The expectation is that you bought travel insurance and if you didn’t , that your personal medical insurance will cover it. The only problem for those on ONLY Medicare, they will not cover it since the ship is considered a foreign country. NEVER leave home without travel insurance. The real benefit of buying the insurance is to convince a foreign hospital to accept you as patient. They do NOT want to deal with ANY US medical insurance. If have travel insurance, they feel more assured they will get some money. But, all insurance wants you to pay up front the bill and get reimbursed after the fact. ALWAYS, travel with at least 2 GOOD credit cards to cover the cost up front.
@@LaLidoLocaRetired RN here. I don't think your ortho doc would do bloodwork for pain in the left knee and I question that you needed it on the ship. You mentioned blood work for inflammation. Not the tests you had done. A cbc would show a possible infection but not inflammation. Seems a bit unethical to me. I'd also question why you'd even need that box of bandages that you didn't get. Seems like the infirmary is a money maker just like the excursions and alcohol sales. Little disappointed in my profession if they are trying to upsell people on medical tests. I always taught my kids that whatever you sell yourself out for is the price of your integrity. Sales clerk forgets to charge you $3.49 for that bag of candy and you don't say anything? That's what your integrity is worth. Sounds like you were taught the same lesson. Feel better soon!
Talk about overbilling, blood test and a pulse ox for knee pain is not needed. X-Ray I do understand. Remember you can say no to treatement or tests you don't deem necessary. I'm also not sure why he needed a catheter for knee pain. That said my leg would have to be falling off before I had treatment on a cruise ship rather than a port. It's almost always cheaper on shore and better equipped it's emergencies only for me.
Pulse ox is a standard intake practice these days in most urgent care facilities. They are doing blood tests to rule out possible infection, based on the chief complaint. Also given they do not have access to your medical records, they can use blood work results to help determine the best course of treatment me any medication was needed.
Honestly, I'm pretty impressed that the lady checking you in was willing to tell you what the consequences were for not filing an accident report. Half the time, it's hard to trust medical billing because by the time it comes out, it's usually too late to do anything about it - especially in situations where typical insurance doesn't apply. Great story to prove out travel insurance. My dad had to go to medical twice for serious issues. It ran him $4000+ for one and $1500 for the other. Always buy travel insurance.
That would require surgery. An MRI to diagnose and a ship would not have one of those. A good brace and NSAIDS until you can get to the orthopedic. After the first pop, walking on it was not the right choice. The inflammation from walking and the subsequent second pop caused the major pain. I got a meniscus tear from kneeling on grass. They can happen because of age. Mine healed on its own but that is rare.
Kudos to you Tony for being honest. Unfortunately that seems to be in short supply nowadays. Hope you are getting better and fully recover for your next cruising adventure!

Also a sling or scarf that could be used as one. 😊

Yes a definite must have.
I bet you the medical charges will be tiding after this medical comment!
Honesty is always the best policy.
@ i’ll look into it thanks
@@Retiredtraveler1961 Yeah, definitely look into buying it separately asap. Personally, I never travel without it, and I certainly wouldn't do an amazing, long distance, and very expensive trip like that without it...
I hope you have a wonderful time!
@ I called Allianz and it will be $3080 to cover the $33,000 trip but I’m going to do it
@@Retiredtraveler1961
10% is about the cost.
You did the right thing taking the high road instead of the low road. Well done, Tony. I’m proud of you!
So thankful to hear honesty in a world where dishonesty seems to be growing. Thanks Tony for sharing!
Hope that you are feeling much better now!
@ I am, thank you. ❤️
90k for a helicopter ride😳😳
@@billsmith281 To be fair, that "ride" included an emergency team of a doctor, nurse, and technician who made sure all of the harnesses and things were properly attached so I didn't go plummeting down to the deck while thy hoisted me up to the helicopter. I was in a very bad way -it's hard to put a price tag on someone saving your life.
I’m always amazed by people who think they don’t need insurance - or think their insurance at home will cover them!!
Hope you’re OK now.
😊
I am a RN, disabled and don't work anymore but to tell you the truth I am surprised the bill wasn't higher. When I worked in the hospital I was shocked to hear we charged over $10 for a band-aid. Everything we used on a patient was charged through scanning their bracelets. It made me feel really crappy about what we were charging patents for but it wasn't in my hands. This was while working at 2 different hospitals in south FL.
Seemed pretty reasonable for a ship 😊
I absolutely respect how you handled it!
In Aug 2023, I got Covid on our Alaskan cruise. I self isolated (with 103 fever). Medical caught wind I was sick. They called me and offered me a MD visit which I declined. They offered me the anti viral at the tune of almost $800 which I also declined after telling me I would need to pay out of pocket. (I am a stage 4 thriver patient, nobody got extra money to spend on medical bills.) anywho, for the call to me, I got charges about $150. I didn’t submit to the insurance but at $800, I would have.
You always come across as a respectful and honest person.
Bless you for telling the truth. Hoping you heal quickly.
You did the right thing. I'm going to keep following you. You are a refreshing honest man!
oooo, ouch! popping! Both my mom and one of my sons had this happen one time, and both of them had a meniscus tear. Hoping you get good news at the doctor.
You did the right thing! Hope your feeling better.
Kudos to you for being honest and requesting the correct form. Watching your vlog on that, I was shocked to know you can do all of that at the medical center. Thank you for sharing
Tony, you totally did the right thing.👍I hope your knee feels better soon! Sending all the good healing vibes.
Tony, thanks for sharing glad your seeing your dr continue taking care of your self n feel better soon
You're an honest guy with integrity. Thanks
Take care!!
Proud of you Tony. You did the right thing to tell the truth.
You were doing like everyone else and there was no accident.
i appreciate your honesty its why i follow you god bless and get well soon
Im sorry about his fall and hopes all is good now. I do have a question, what insurance did you got though?
@ we booked travel insurance through the cruise lines. Didn’t realize before the accident that they all insure through Aon. That made the paperwork somewhat easier for us since once I submitted it Aon would use it for our multiple claims (cancelled cruises, unused portion of the cruise and all the medical claims).
@@nancyclyatt432 thanks I appreciate it.
I think you did the right thing regarding the accident form. I was surprised and not surprised about the bill.
I applaud your honesty, wish everyone followed your lead. I am surprised at the amount of your bill, I thought it would be much more. Glad you’re OK.
I love your honesty and integrity. I wish everyone lived their life that way
A friend did a back to back after a TA on NCL. They made her move to a new cabin... she started scratching, really bad. Classic bed bug bites but she didn't realize it. She went to the infirmary and they treated her with an IV and they charged her $1700 USD. Bed bugs and they charged her! Be very careful about using medical services onboard.
You told the truth! Never regret doing so!
Keep your honesty and your integrity intact. May God bless you and your family.
You're an honest man. Despite potential gain, you chose to tell the truth. Hat's off to you.
I really appreciate your integrity. It’s refreshing!
We watch and listen to you because you are that honest kind of guy.
You handled that very well Tony. Good for you for being honest! ❤
You answered truthfully as you had a preexisting injury. Best that you didn't lie.
you are totally right.. honesty is the best policy.. let me say you are a trooper and get the job done. your videos a bright point of my day.
I think you did the right thing. It shows you have integrity and were not willing to lie even for a substantial benefit. Please let us know how the claim goes. I’m really curious about that process and outcome.
I commend you for your integrity. The world needs more of this.
I think you are a good and honest person, Tony. You did the right thing ❤
Tony you did the right thing. I wish you a speedy recovery. Glad you have the travel insurance.
Honestly is the best policy. Hope you’re feeling better.
A man of integrity. You switch your channel to being about training monkeys (something I no longer want to learn at my age) and I would
still watch your channel. It's so difficult to find people who don't and won't try to manipulate the system. Kudos to you sir, kudos in abundance.
Honesty is always the best option. The most expensive thing we own is our integrity.
Solid haircut Tony! Looking sharp 👌
I feel your pain. My parents raised me with a conscience as well.
Hope you're feeling better. Thanks for all this great information. Take care.
Love your honesty. Good for you. One of the reasons I follow your channel.
Super curious about how the claims process goes. It will make for an informative 1st person vlog after you're done with going through it.
Thanks so much for loving your job and looking out for us. Happy healing. I have been waiting for the Insurance talk 😂😂
TOTALLY agree with your decision...the pop out could have occurred getting out of the bed like the original issue on the previous cruise.
Thanks for being a man of honor
I applaud your honesty. BTW, I love your channel!
You did the same thing I did. Taking the High road with travel insurance will work. Take care Tony.
A crime scene perhaps🤣
Anyhow I did get some treatment and the cost was covered through insurance I had purchased.
I love to see you did the right thing! God sees all, good for you. Hope you’re feeling back to normal soon!
Truth is always the right thing to do.
I'm not surprised that that's what honest Tony chose.
The x-ray and the trip to the doctor cost me $550
I have no intention of writing on that cruise line again and the $750 cruise credit has expired
It was not royal Caribbean.
Love the final diagnosis from the visit: "Pain in Left Knee"....wow for almost $800....
That was my initial input to them.
You played it straight and I admire you for that.
Sounds like a meniscus tear. I did the same thing
@@stevenhall513 That’s what I thought, too! Been there, done that while walking up ONE stair, as well. VERY painful 😣
