You may not be old enough to remember but ages ago there was a cult following of the Precept Lady ball. And there we're so many "guys"playing it that I believe the engineered the Laddie to be the same ball for men. I want to say it was over 20 years ago.
I was one of the people playing the Lady. In fact I was so embarrassed I would scratch out the "lady" on the ball. I had no money back in those days and a dozen was about $8 or $9. (Sometimes you could find them for less at some of the golf superstores in Myrtle Beach) I play the Vice Pro now but I just tried a dozen of the Laddie and they are still damn good. I just don't like them on the greens for some reason. Great video as usual.
I remember the start of the Precept Lady following. Supposedly some amateur finished high in a state amateur championship in Alabama I think. Then others though, well he’s a really good golfer so I can try it too. Bridgestone made the Precept Laddie a year or two later as a supposedly slightly firmer ball than the Lady, but mostly just to have a version that didn’t say “Lady” on the ball or packaging. True story… I had a female coworker who witnessed her husband purchasing a dozen Precept Lady balls. She asked him why he was buying women’s golf balls and he explained the fad. She asked me about it the next day at work because she was concerned he was fibbing and was buying the golf balls for some other women. I had to tell her that he was telling the truth. So, Bridgestone really did need to come out with a “Laddie” version of the Lady golf ball.
I've played some of my best golf with Taylor Made distance plus both yellow and white. I prefer the yellow but whites are good too,and to me it's the best two piece ball I've ever played . Max driver distance Mid -high wedge spin Soft feel. The best two piece ball ever !
Anyone who hasn’t been watching this channel for the last two years will not understand this channel 😅😅😅😅 probably not the best way to grow the channel. But I love it for what it is.
Yeah it definitely could throw some people for a loop if they're not used to it. However I also think it's good cuz maybe people will realize it's a different type of channel and people who are open to a different type of thinking might want to subscribe
I played with the Precept Lady Ball for many years. Great golf ball. I played Vice for a few years and then went to the Cut Red. Distance is as long as any, and I love their very, predictable feel from 40 yards in. Especially chipping. You can really spin it hard and make it check if you want, but unlike a typical Urethane Tour ball, the runout is much more predictable. I prefer it to any Urethane ball.
All great options that you have tried. Any of those golf balls should perform very well for you. It seems like you have had some level of success with all of them.
Maxfli S!!! i have been switching golfballs for years. from bridgestone, callaway, taylormade, titelist...I went to Dicks looking for a spikeless golf shoe. The Maxfli was on sale..I like compression around 65 to 75. The S model is aound 79-80. Oh my swing speed on a great day is 98 and on a bad day 91 (getting older sucks). Maxfli S gives extra distance off the Irons. The fairway woods distances are lights out gained 10 to 15 yards. Driver is longer but not as straight as the E12.
For years I have been testing the max fli golf balls and every year I seem pretty disappointed. They keep increasing the price but I don't get any performance increases. This year was different though. I actually enjoyed the entire lineup pretty well. Especially the s line, I use the s on the course even
I’ve tried the straightfli and softfli. Both definitely decent. Exited to try the trifli. I’m hoping it is a combo of both. Going out this weekend to see
Years ago, over a period of a year, I played 7-8 midline price balls (titleist, Callaway). None of them exceeded the Laddie Xtreme that I had used for a long time. So, I tried the others. Today my ball is the Laddie.
That's not surprising. The precept laddie is not only hot off the club, it's extremely forgiving and easy to hit. Lots of people love how easy it makes the game at times
I switched to the Titleist Speed from the Laddie. I have a very slow swing at 65 and these balls helped me across the board. Second for me was the Callaway ERC Fade.
Fantastic video. I still live my OnCore vero x1. I also play the Callaway chrome soft x!! I agree with the vice pro plus. Always honest and righteous!!
Great video. Thanks to you I've been able to try out a bunch of new golf balls. SNELL get sum and MTB prime, the Sugar and the vice pro plus to name a few. I loved the get sum until I cracked 2 balls with my 5 iron. Never had that happen before and to have it happen twice, it made me move on to the Sugar ball. I had just got the cube in the mail when your Vice Pro Plus video came out. Your praise was so high I knew I had to try them after the Sugar. It took me a while to use up all the Sugar balls and I thought I found my new ball because I loved them. Was shooting extremely good consistent golf. But I did order the Vice and holy cow!.. What a ball. My distance dramatically increased. The purity I felt when hitting them was addictive. My putting improved with the feel. I am 53 and hit a 300 + drive for the first time with them. I was surprised they only ranked 39th in your distance with hybrids. A big Thank you for introducing me to my new ball. And you can now buy them on Amazon and get them the next day and save on postage. I got the the lime green drip ball and love it. Thanks again!!!
My only hole in one came with a Laddie in 2005. It was great then as it is now. Thanks for all your work. I have gone back to 2 piece balls and shot my age today with a Wilson duo soft.
100%. That's actually a really big benefit of using softer compression golf balls. You know that regardless you're going to get a really good strike even if you miss hit it a little. Gives you a little confidence and makes you not want to swing this hard
You weren’t lying! I tried the Laddie Extreme yesterday and shot my low round of the year. Previously had used the under 105 Bridgestone balls. Not as much side spin gave me more distance and my longest drive of the year. Off my wedges it popped up with a controlled distance. Now what am I going to do with all these other golf balls!?
@@GolfBallAddict Thanks! I had wanted to add that, beside myself having a great round, I had given one Laddie Extreme to a friend before we started play, and he ended up shooting one of his best rounds of the year, too. I can’t believe we only have one more year till they start restricting the flight of golf balls. The seniors I play with already have trouble reaching a 320 yard hole in regulation. Average women players are going to be affected to a great extent, too. Should we be stocking up on Laddies next year?
I won a long drive competition with the laddie once. I hit three Pro V1x and then blew the laddie by my Pro V1x by 15 yards on the last ball. Since that day in scrambles I always tee off with the Laddie. At number five in this video I said why doesn't anyone ever test the Laddie lol.
I think the price, brand, and the ball stemming from a ladies ball (could be true or not.) deters people from it. I, myself, have 4 dozen of them ready to play with. Sometimes, you just have to ignore the opinions of people and find things out for yourself. I have no problem playing these balls.
Got some GET SUM. Thanks for pointing out this ball. I played a sleeve for the first time today. Second hole into the wind. 210 off the driver, that was about 25-30 yards longer than i expected. Left with 170 into the green, into the wind, the miss on the hole is short, long is dead, I nut the shot and airmail the green treetop height with a 21 degree hybrid that has been a 170 carry club on the best shot all year. Make a 6 on the hole but still manage to shoot 40 on the front. I am now unsure of how far my fairway woods and hybrids will go. Wow was that a fun round. Had a bit of shearing but overall very durable. I had bad durability on some 3.0 Snells this year and was bummed. I may have found my new ball. 🎉 shots into the firm greens didn’t seem to have a bunch of holding power and was left with a lot of past the hole first putts that were 30 + feet from the ball mark.
Funny i purchased the Laddie balls a couple months ago. Great ball for me but I like it more for the winter. I'm sticking with Vice Pro. Better bite for me.
Oh for sure. If you feel confident enough and play well enough to consistently hit a ball like the vice Pro really well, that's the way to go. For most average golfers though that precept lady can be a game changer. I also love it as a winter ball
You should do a video on the highest launching balls to help slower swing players / seniors. Recently got my dad into Wilson Duo soft matte, they definitely seem to be helping him get it higher but I'm curious for other options for him.
Another video idea could be best Matte ball for those with bad eyes or just like the matte finish. There are so many now, including brands I've never heard of like the saintnine Misty balls. Apparently another affordable brand with a 3-piece urethane offering in matte. Personally was looking for this type of video myself about a month ago but there's none on TH-cam.
Honestly for a dollar golf ball it's worth a try. A lot of the time you can even find them in Pro shops single use. By a couple and try them out for only a couple bucks?
Be interesting to see what your top 10 is for driver distance only. I definitely agree the honorable mention Spectra Z is a very long ball. I found one a couple years ago and had no idea what it was. I happened to hit it perfectly the first time I hit it and drove it 300 yards (my normal was closer to 270 at the time). I like to use the Z for drives only… simply because of the bright colors that make it much easier to see off the drive and of course the long distance. Not a good ball for the short game. The Pro V1x also is very long for me and my best all around ball for my game, but I would much rather lose a cheaper Z ball if I hit wrong. 😅
@@GolfBallAddict True and not saying I hit the center super consistently. Haha Hmm…maybe another episode “The most forgiving long balls”…that might be a hit. 🤷♂️
I don't even think I've ever seen a ladybug golf ball before. I have a lot of old ones I use his yard balls and still don't think I've seen it. I'll have to keep my eye out
I mean I disagree. Let me ask you a question. Between these two golf balls, which one would you choose? Golf ball A 250 yards driver 190 hybrid 160 7 yard Golf ball B 255 yards driver 165 yards hybrid 130 yards 7 iron. I just don't think too many people are going to choose golf ball b for five extra yards on a driver when they're losing so much on the other two.
@@GolfBallAddict basically only consistency matters with the irons. It doesn’t matter how far you hit your 7 iron, it matters how consistently you hit it. It also matters how playable that 7 iron flight is. You need the right landing angle and spin. With out question these are the only things that matter with irons. The distance it travels is irrelevant assuming you are getting the repeatable flight. If you need to hit it farther, take one more club.
@@GolfBallAddict no one hits two quality balls 30 yards apart with the same swing/club. Your question is pointless. Unless it’s Jon Rahm. He’d probably hit a Callaway Super Soft 30 yards shorter than a pro v1x. The point though is he would be consistently shorter with the soft ball so again, your example doesn’t exist. No one hits two balls and is longer with the driver but that much shorter with a 7 iron.
@@GolfBallAddict Is there an actual ball with these numbers? Or are you just posing hypothetical numbers? Seems unlikely that any ball would have 5 yards driver distance but 25 to 30 yards iron distance. This brings us back to driver distance being the main determinant. I also note that Ball A has a total yardage of 600 whereas none of the balls in the video were anywhere near that total.
Even as a long time follower, I didn't get it right. I was thinking it was going to be the Vice Pro Plus. Very surprised the Vice Tour 2024 didn't make it.
Callaway Superfast??? I still have not teed up this ball, but it scored really well when you tested it across the board, and it is still on the Callaway website. I haven’t been in a Walmart for a few months so I don’t know if it is currently on their shelves or Target’s shelves.
Used to play Precept exclusively, can't remember the exact model (not the Laddie that came later) it wasn't until the Taylormade Black came out that I moved away from the Precept. I have since been less devoted to any one ball, any cheap urethane 3 piece works for me.
I remember that Taylor made black. Game changer. I will say though, even as a casual player. It really helps to narrow down a golf ball you like or at least a compression number you like. Switching from really soft to really firm doesn't allow you to get much consistency especially in the short game. Also maybe you should give the precept laddie a try for old time sakes 😂
I love this idea. I'm just trying to decide whether I want five different videos with my top five of each category, or a video with just the best of each dollar amount. Both great options and one is definitely coming, just trying to get the details
Yes I have. Explosive golf ball with a low launch that just seems to go long and straight. Absolutely zero spin though. It's still a good ball it's one of my favorite Titleist balls
I am actually getting ready to retest the whole entire cut line up here in about a week or so. Be sure to check those out I'm super excited that they're going to do really well
I've never heard of almost half the balls you mention. It would be interesting to see a chart of the balls with each club's distance shown. I want a long driver ball, the shorter the club the less I care about distance. My irons are from 2011 with the old lofts which is fine.
It's honestly strange, I have many people tell me that the only distance that matters is driver distance. While I disagree with them, I thought about making another video just doing driver distance only. The problem is, whenever I make the video, half the golf balls on the list aren't even golf balls I would recommend. Because yes the driver distances is awesome, but the rest of the clubs don't work very well at all. It would be really weird of me, in my opinion at least, to make a video advertising 10 longest driver golf balls but then having to say for half of them that I actually don't even recommend that you playing them. Maybe I'll make that video someday.
I understand what you are saying. If a ball goes a long way with a driver, but won't bite on the greens what good is it. I still have a few of the Srixon Z-Series XVs from 2019. They are over 110 compression which makes them very long, yet they bite well. The newer XVs are softer unfortunately. I haven't tried them yet. I got a dozen free for signing up for the Golf internet/email list. Snell used to have an extremely high compression ball, but he has apparently stopped making those as well. With the urethane covers the Srixons don't feel as hard as you would expect especially around and on the greens. I never tried the Snells since I had the Srixons. I am 75, but I drive 271-280 yards when I am swinging well. I am thin and strong so I have a long swing which makes it easier to generate club head speed. I swing an extremely heavy lead weighted driver in the driveway every day which keeps me loose and strong. It is easy to make one with a junk club with a steel shaft (bigger inside diameter for weights than graphite). I use small pinch-on-the-line fishing weights and ram them into the shaft with a steel rod.
Questions, what is driver club head speed? Which balls in your top can you control around the green? Some of these I’ve tried and they just seem to never stop when chipping.
My average club head speed with the driver is around 95mph. Used to be 93 now it's 98. That's the thing. Most really long golf balls are distance models. Distance models sacrifice checkup for more yards. However on my list there are some tour balls that check up. Mizuno x Wright and ditson Pro Plus Diamond Sugar
Anyone out there playing the wilson tour velocity? I'm sixty five years old and swinging about eighty to eighty five miles per hour, With my older cleveland launcher ( Hope to increase my swing speed a bit with a cleveland XL lite I've ordered).
The tour velocity is an awesome golf ball. Tested it a while back and was very surprised with the results. Didn't have a lot of expectations going into it but it actually performed top 20 I believe
I play a lot of scrambles therefore I can change the ball after I drive to hit my 2nd shot, so I’m curious what were the longest balls off the driver that you have tested?
Have you ever heard of the Wilson Distance? It's an Amazon only ball at a great price. Generally around $30 for 3dzn. Would love to see a review on it.
I’ve recently picked up longer distance and desired lower launch with Titleist AVX, BUT IT IS EXPENSIVE. I, too, am an average or below swinger. Thoughts on AVX or what ball may perform overall similarly at lower cost?
Not sure you'll see this comment since the video is 2 weeks old, but when do you expect/ what have you heard about the Sugar G1 restocking? I've been wanting to try it since I saw it rank #1 on your top 100.
That's a good question. I think they honestly told me it's going to be around February before they get restocked. I'm sure it's really bothering them that they can't sell right now.
Here's the problem with that theory. If the driver goes 260 yd, and the five hybrid goes 190 yards, and your 7-iron goes 120 yards. Doesn't that present a pretty big issue with gapping?
@@GolfBallAddict Senior golfer (slower swing speed) so driver distance is important especially on longer par 4’s. Not that concerned about gap with shorter iron distances.
Never seen or heard some of the golf balls, I need to look into them, I do know I can’t find the Maxfli tour ball here, snell have ghosted me about buying balls in Canada, I have never seen the Wilson zip either but I do like the triad. Good review 👍🏌️♂️🇨🇦
Thank you very much. Appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch. I know overseas and in different countries and sometimes harder to get the golf balls I review. If there's any specific to your region you'd like me to try I can see if I can get them.
@GolfBallAddict , I get mine from Amazon. I usually play the Cromax Metallic M5 golf balls, but I have tried their distance balls a few times as well, and they do tend to carry a little further.
The Precept Laddie must be discontinued. Not available in Canada anyway. I looked at some major stores in the States near me and they don't have them either
I still show them on Amazon and even on the Bridgestone website. Usually if they're still on the company's website they aren't discontinued. I'll keep an eye on it though.
Honestly the only reason I would probably give it a try is for colder season. The legato is an amazing golf ball and if you're enjoying it I wouldn't try to switch unless you feel it's necessary, but during the winter months when it gets a little colder a softer two piece is a great tool to have in your bag
I've gotten feedback from a few people who really love the erc. It tested a lot better the second time around on my channel. They are making improvements but they're still a ways to go
Please explain to me about forgiveness. You said there isn’t any tourballs on the list, but I guess Srixon Z-star Diamond is a tourball. I am a slow swinger and usually play Titleist AVX, but this year also ProV1. I don’t hit center every time, can’t say I loose length with none of the balls compared to others I have tested this year, such as Wilson Triad and TaylorMade Speedsoft.
Forgiveness is the same with a golf ball as it is with a club. It's how much distance is lost when a golf ball is misshit either slightly or firmly off the center. Most firmer golf balls have poor forgiveness, due to needing a faster swing to fully compress them. Although they may travel a few yards further on pure strikes, they suffer drastically on misshits.
@@GolfBallAddict Thank you. I listen much to Titleist and Mygolfspy who says swingspeed is not an issue choosing a golfball. What is your opinion on that?
I’m a 3 h cap golfer but my diver club head speed is 96 mph , my low h cap buddies always 20 to 30 yards past me off the tee , I use callaway super soft at the min , I like them but I want to see if a ball can help me get more distance off the tee. Think I will try these laddies , must say I never heard of them !! The tour quality balls don’t work for me at all. Why is that ??
First of all, awesome job being really self aware. It's something that tons of golfers struggle with. The reason that tour quality golf balls don't work for a lot of golfers has to do with dispersion, consistency, and forgiveness. I myself am around a 7 or 8 handicap if I'm using a two-piece golf ball. It doesn't punish me on this hits when it comes to distance or side spin, so I can keep it in play a little better and let my short game do the work. However lately I've been trying to go back to a three or four piece Tour ball and they spin like crazy. Miss hits turn into direct hooks and slices and I lose 20 to 30 yards on Miss hits for distance wise. Those strokes add up.
not a fan of Sxrizon, have never hit them well...I play the Laddie ball and Bridgeston E12, both great balls, good distance and plenty of spin around the greens..
I hope Wilson comes out with a direct replacement for the the Zip or perhaps makes it a 3 piece again. P.S. Where is your music from? It is soothing. 🙂
Me too friend. I hope they change their minds. It's honestly generic from a free site. I had always planned to change it but it was so catchy I kept it 😄
I just haven't been able to produce any results that back this theory up in the last 4 years. Sure if you can absolutely strike and pure every shot, then maybe you'll get a few extra yards or rpms, but even slight miss hits and you are done for
@@GolfBallAddictisn’t the vice pro plus designed for high swing speed players? Also the mygolfspy testing also suggests that even slow swing speeds benefit from tour level balls. I guess it’s individual experience
I think there is definitely a place for it, but I understand where you are coming from 100 percent. I'm the reaction video from today's golfer I was shocked to see them say x golf models are the best regardless of swing speed. You have to factor forgiveness in. Everyone swings different
Everyone's different. Also all range balls aren't the same. Most of the time I can't stand range balls. Spin way too much and most of the time are rolled back
There are some good comparison on TH-cam Range vs Regular Balls that can help! My range work thought is, “this is at least the less I can hit my clubs with these range balls. They are that far off though!
@@richardjacobs7632 That's a good tactic. And looking at the mash-mash of balls I have in my bag, they're probably not all that different from the range balls anyway.
I would recommend you watch my video I posted a week ago where we analyzed the robotic test from today's golfer. It debunks the statement you just made. Here's the issue, when you go by robotic test only, it allows you to know which golf ball is truly the best under perfect conditions. Which is very important to know. However the problem with that is, 99% of golfers are not robots. They don't hit the center of the face every single time. They also don't have a consistent swing path and attack angle like a robot does. So then the question becomes, how do golf balls perform on Miss hits? A robotic test will tell you that everyone should be playing an x model golf ball. The problem with that, is x model golf balls offer almost zero forgiveness. So then what happens is this, if I have a 150 yd approach shot into the green, and I slightly miss it a pro v1x, I lose usually about 20 yards on a shot like that. So now I still have a 20 yard pitch/chip to get the ball up and down for hopefully a par. However, with the same 150 yard shot, if I hit something like a Wilson zip, or a vice ProAir, or any other forgiving golf ball I've tested, I usually only lose about 5 to 10 yards. Now in this case, I am still on the green. Now instead of chipping or pitching from 20 yards out I'm still two putting for a par. It shaves multiple strokes off your score especially for average golfers who Miss hit a good amount of the time. My point is this, robotic testing is extremely important and needed. However it's only half the puzzle. You also need the human element as well. Both of them work together to coincide and find out what the best golf balls are. The only way robotic testing is the only way, is a few yourself are a robot also. So if you strike the iron 10 out of 10 times perfect and you have an amazing swing, then 100% check out the robot testing only. However I have a feeling that if you're that good you should be on tour winnng every single major.
I've personally never heard of The fast flight models. I currently am waiting to test the tour, the tour x, and the pure spin from Spalding but that's all I've heard of
My swing speed is 93 mph with a driver. The Prov1 x go the farthest. All of the premium balls go farther than the cheaper hard balls. Plus Titliest balls can be trusted. Too many blend in cheaper balls.
Our results we're just not simply the same my friend. After testing over 130 golf balls, the Pro V1 sits toward the bottom of the list when it comes to distance for an average swing speed. However some of the longest balls I have are two piece models. The longest all I've ever tested as you saw from the video was a top-flight xl with the driver.
Vice pro plus is a tour level ball, aimed at swing speeds of 110+… so therefore the disclaimer during intro is quite confusing, won’t rate the new tp5 bc you don’t have the swing speed, only to praise the vice in the same category…
So couple of things here. One. The disclaimer isn't really there to tell you there's no tour balls. It's to let the pro v1 guys know why their ball isn't there. Also not that there are zero, that there are bare minimum. Two. This list isn't really up for debate. There is zero opinion in this video. It's all numbers, and the numbers don't lie. So you can be upset about the vise Pro Plus being on there, I couldn't care less that it is. The numbers added up to that. And the numbers don't lie
I would love to. However I am already testing 5 golf balls a week. Takes a lot of work to test these. That would have added another month just for this one video.
Depends on what course I'm playing at and the time of the year it is. But I would say my go-to gamer ball is the vice Pro Plus 2024 model. I also really love the vice air as well.
@@GolfBallAddict Forgot to mention. Senior golfer here who is fixated on yellow colored balls. Just simply see them better. Think the Laddie only comes in white.
The velocity has a lot of spring to it and really travels a long way. The only thing that hurt it in the testing is the fact that it's a low launch. The low launch took a few yards off and kept it out of the top 10
Yeah it should be. For me though it really depends on cost versus replayability. If a ball is $10 a dozen, and it lasts me most of around, I'd say I got most of my money's worth out of it. However some of these tour balls blow my mind. They only last about three quarters of a round and they cost $60 a dozen. 💲💵🔥
That's not correct. 93 mph just the official average swing speed for a male in the world. It's used as the standard for both golf ball reviews and robotic testing.
I started using the Laddies after your review and I love them! Shot my first game under 80. Game changer.
That's awesome. Congratulations on that amazing feat. I'm so glad the ball helped you out 😎

So, Bridgestone really did need to come out with a “Laddie” version of the Lady golf ball.
I played them in a golf league. They really were springy.
Still play a lady precept in the winter. 💩
I've played some of my best golf with Taylor Made distance plus both yellow and white.
I prefer the yellow but whites are good too,and to me it's the best two piece ball I've ever played .
Max driver distance
Mid -high wedge spin
Soft feel.
The best two piece ball ever !

Nice. I didn't have a lot of luck with the speed. Might have just not been for me though
Fantastic video. I still live my OnCore vero x1. I also play the Callaway chrome soft x!! I agree with the vice pro plus. Always honest and righteous!!
Thank you very much. I appreciate you always taking the time to watch and comment. Couldn't do it without you guys 🤠😁
I remember how blown away you was with the Laddie. This is a fair reflection of all the golf balls for us average golfers.
Thank you so much! You were probably first to watch on all these balls lol
I have similar swing speeds to you and I think you're exactly right about the precept laddie👍
Thank you very much. A lot of people have had really good success with it and love it to death.
I am so glad the channel has helped you find a variety of great balls to try. That's what it's all about! 😁😎⛳🏌️♂️
My only hole in one came with a Laddie in 2005. It was great then as it is now. Thanks for all your work. I have gone back to 2 piece balls and shot my age today with a Wilson duo soft.
That's awesome. Both of those things you mentioned are incredible accomplishments. 🤠😁
Still playing golf at 97 is super impressive 😁.. Just joking, congrats on the great round!
I’ve loved Laddies since they first came out, really helps me not want to swing out of my shoes.
Lol I know how you feel. Congratulations on the breaking of your previous record.
I nailed number 1! Your review is what led me to these balls
Lol awesome job. Honestly I'm pretty shocked myself how great that ball truly was.
Lol that's awesome. It's such a power house packed into a small package. I love it. It probably could use a retest soon.
I think the price, brand, and the ball stemming from a ladies ball (could be true or not.) deters people from it. I, myself, have 4 dozen of them ready to play with. Sometimes, you just have to ignore the opinions of people and find things out for yourself. I have no problem playing these balls.
Wow the precept laddie No1 and topflite No3 amazing.I always enjoy your reviews , Thankyou
Thank you very much. I really appreciate the kind words and you always watching
That's awesome. It's a really great golf ball. I hope they don't discontinue it with the 2.0 being out.
Great idea. That could be a fantastic option for my next top 5
Another video idea could be best Matte ball for those with bad eyes or just like the matte finish. There are so many now, including brands I've never heard of like the saintnine Misty balls. Apparently another affordable brand with a 3-piece urethane offering in matte. Personally was looking for this type of video myself about a month ago but there's none on TH-cam.
used to play the Precept 20 plus years ago might just try them again now that i am 59 cheers from Vulcan Canada
They were always a soft great ball played those in high school some
Honestly for a dollar golf ball it's worth a try. A lot of the time you can even find them in Pro shops single use. By a couple and try them out for only a couple bucks?
the callaway chrome tour x actually worked very well for slower swing speeds
I didn't have any luck with it as an average swingers
Breaking 80!!! You the man bro
Thank you. I'm working really hard. I need to shoot 78/78 to get my PGA member card
I haven’t heard of several of these companies , thanks I will start looking in the water this afternoon…😊
Oh Lord LOL
Thanks for compiling this list. See you next time.
Anytime my friend! See you on the next review😁🤠
Agree 100 percent. The pro v1 x is super long if you hit it in the center of the face. I do not lol
@@GolfBallAddict True and not saying I hit the center super consistently. Haha Hmm…maybe another episode “The most forgiving long balls”…that might be a hit. 🤷♂️
Love the precept laddie ball!
That's awesome. You can't beat the value with the performance you get. Also a great winter ball
I found a dozen Wilson Ladybug 🐞 80 compression that my mom had from years ago and those balls are hot for this 68 year old. 180 yard 5-iron.
I don't even think I've ever seen a ladybug golf ball before. I have a lot of old ones I use his yard balls and still don't think I've seen it. I'll have to keep my eye out
only driver distance matters. All the other clubs are about getting the best launch characteristics.
I mean I disagree. Let me ask you a question. Between these two golf balls, which one would you choose?
Golf ball A
250 yards driver
190 hybrid
160 7 yard
Golf ball B
255 yards driver
165 yards hybrid
130 yards 7 iron.
Like how you test, explain your test, and how and why. Thanks
Anytime. I know some people nowadays can't sit through lengthy reviews, but I've always felt that the more information the better.
Even as a long time follower, I didn't get it right. I was thinking it was going to be the Vice Pro Plus. Very surprised the Vice Tour 2024 didn't make it.
Just barely missed the cut. All the vice models were awesome. The pro just had the best driver numbers and that propelled it to the top
You’re forgetting the MG Senior. One of the best balls I have ever played ‘🏌️♂️
Not testing illegal balls. MG in non conforming
Yeah I don't mind testing that golf ball. Just haven't ever had a request for it. I'll keep an eye out in the future
Callaway Superfast??? I still have not teed up this ball, but it scored really well when you tested it across the board, and it is still on the Callaway website. I haven’t been in a Walmart for a few months so I don’t know if it is currently on their shelves or Target’s shelves.
It's been discontinued unfortunately. It was actually our number three golf ball on our top 100 list. Such a shame.
Thanks. Appreciate all the info you distribute..
Anytime. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment for the algorithm 😁🤠🏌️♂️⛳
With the Zip being discontinued, would you be interested in conducting a "Best $1 golf ball, Best $2, etc?" I've been loving the videos.
I love this idea. I'm just trying to decide whether I want five different videos with my top five of each category, or a video with just the best of each dollar amount. Both great options and one is definitely coming, just trying to get the details
@GolfBallAddict oh, definitely 1 video. You already have the data. Just getting it all in one spot is a definite watch for me.
Been using the Precept Laddie for years , best ball for the money and overall playiblity
Hey that's awesome. You were definitely out of the curve. A lot of people seem to really like it and have had a huge following for it for a long time
Great video. Thanks. Have you tested the Titleist Velocity? It seems to go a long way
Yes I have. Explosive golf ball with a low launch that just seems to go long and straight. Absolutely zero spin though. It's still a good ball it's one of my favorite Titleist balls
The Cut DC is a ball my group have been high on and the slower swingers are liken the blue version for me so fare it’s the Vice Pro Plus
I am actually getting ready to retest the whole entire cut line up here in about a week or so. Be sure to check those out I'm super excited that they're going to do really well
Go Laddie!!! I love this ball!
Laddie Crew knows what is up.
So the Precept Laddie ball is that the 2017 version? As that is the only one I can find online..
Yes that's correct. They have an updated it from 2017. Their focus shifted to the Tour line once tiger signed
Mizuno x
Wright and ditson
Pro Plus
Diamond
Sugar
The XL distance is a great ball for the anchor in a scramble
Oh absolutely. Team mate one gets the ball in the fairway and the other three can swing out of their shoes hoping for a few extra yards 😎💯
Have you ever heard of the Wilson Distance? It's an Amazon only ball at a great price. Generally around $30 for 3dzn. Would love to see a review on it.
I will definitely take a look. Thank you so much for the heads up 😁
@@GolfBallAddict I should edit that to say Wilson Profile Distance.
Can you add this list and more numbers to your Wix site? I like that the top 100 is there and available for quick reference.
Yeah i definitely can. It's actually a really good idea.
I’ve recently picked up longer distance and desired lower launch with Titleist AVX, BUT IT IS EXPENSIVE. I, too, am an average or below swinger. Thoughts on AVX or what ball may perform overall similarly at lower cost?
For sure. Legato ltx, Titleist velocity, and maxfli tour s are all balls that launch low and are way better priced
Have you tested Piper? I played Piper Blue and liked it, Piper Gold and hated it. Thanks.
I haven't yet because I heard that they have discontinued them. I have them on hold until I find out for sure
Driving accross country... perfect
Nick did I miss it or when are you going to test the PXG golf balls?
Comes out tomorrow. Be on the lookout! 😁
Interested to know which golf balls were longest for each club - 7, 5 Hybrid, and Driver? Personally, I care more about Driver and 5 Hybrid.
Precept laddie best ball, best price, thanks for your confirmation
Anytime. I can't wait to do a retest on it but honestly it's one of the best I've tested then the feedback from my viewers also says a lot about that
Woo, love the Cut Red!
New review coming soon! Hopefully it does even better!
Great video! Have you tested the Chromax Distance?
I have not. Hadn't even heard of them before you mentioned it. I'll see if I can get a hold of some
@GolfBallAddict , I get mine from Amazon. I usually play the Cromax Metallic M5 golf balls, but I have tried their distance balls a few times as well, and they do tend to carry a little further.
All that matters for distance is a driver. We just need to know how far we hit an iron depending on how hard we want to hit it.
Ya Amazon it's the 2017 model ?
Wasn’t the Laddie a reconstructed or rebranded Lady’s ball? Laddie vs Lady’s.
Yes. So many men started playing it because of the performance which caused Bridgestone to re brand it in 2017
I have never tried the Laddie, maybe soon but I can’t get off of the Legato.
Honestly the only reason I would probably give it a try is for colder season. The legato is an amazing golf ball and if you're enjoying it I wouldn't try to switch unless you feel it's necessary, but during the winter months when it gets a little colder a softer two piece is a great tool to have in your bag
The Callaway ERC is like a superball off my clubs. It is easy 20y longer than any of the balls I am used to playing.
I've gotten feedback from a few people who really love the erc. It tested a lot better the second time around on my channel. They are making improvements but they're still a ways to go
Hey, Amazon has the 2019 To Flight XL-Distance balls for $24. Are they the same quality as the balls tested?
The ones I tested I believe were 2021 models. I'm sure they're close to the same. I assume you mean the bucket that has 48 balls?
I don’t need a longer ball, I need a ball that goes where I WANT to hit it, instead of where I actually hit it!
😂😂😂😂
My swing speed is 93 mph with a driver. The Prov1 x go the farthest. All of the premium balls go farther than the cheaper hard balls.
I’m a 3 h cap golfer but my diver club head speed is 96 mph , my low h cap buddies always 20 to 30 yards past me off the tee ,
I use callaway super soft at the min , I like them but I want to see if a ball can help me get more distance off the tee.
At this point I'm losing love for srixon on the daily. They keep changing their balls and making them firmer and less forgiving.
I hope Wilson comes out with a direct replacement for the the Zip or perhaps makes it a 3 piece again.
P.S. Where is your music from? It is soothing. 🙂
Me too friend. I hope they change their minds.
It's honestly generic from a free site. I had always planned to change it but it was so catchy I kept it 😄
@@GolfBallAddict Don't change that music.
Maybe Wilson is pulling a publicity stunt.
Start a big buzz and then release it again.
Vice golf is running a special for the first 500 people who order 10 dozen golf balls you can get a free wedge built to your specifications.
At check out in the promotion code type ( free wedge )
Yes I saw that. That's quite an amazing deal
I think you’ll find even mid to slow swingers can benefit from higher compression tour level balls.
I prefer the human, real element to the robot "AI" element. Anyone else tired of "AI" being pushed?
I think there is definitely a place for it, but I understand where you are coming from 100 percent. I'm the reaction video from today's golfer I was shocked to see them say x golf models are the best regardless of swing speed. You have to factor forgiveness in. Everyone swings different
I have a feeling this list will change when you hit the BX and BRX.
I hope so. I'm super excited to try those Bridgestone balls. I keep hearing more and more great things
Great video
Thank you very much. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment for the algorithm 😁🤠
@@GolfBallAddict 😆 u picked up on that huh 💀
Are these in the grey and green box labeled laddie Extreme?
Yes they are
How do you dial in your club distances at the range with range balls that can be a total crapshoot? But you play with brand new whatevers.
Everyone's different. Also all range balls aren't the same. Most of the time I can't stand range balls. Spin way too much and most of the time are rolled back
@@GolfBallAddict Right. So how do you dial in your distances with crap balls?
There are some good comparison on TH-cam Range vs Regular Balls that can help! My range work thought is, “this is at least the less I can hit my clubs with these range balls. They are that far off though!
@@richardjacobs7632 That's a good tactic. And looking at the mash-mash of balls I have in my bag, they're probably not all that different from the range balls anyway.
The only way to compare golf balls is to use a robotic arm. It's the only way to repeat exact consistency.
Anyone ever played Spalding fast flight golf balls?? Old Balls I found new in package
I've personally never heard of The fast flight models. I currently am waiting to test the tour, the tour x, and the pure spin from Spalding but that's all I've heard of
Use a hitting Robot? Same swing speed programmed
Found a Dunlop titanium ball the other day and that had to be the farthest flying ball I have ever hit until I sent it into a lake
I've had a couple requests to do those balls. Just never had my hands on one. They have a cult following
Sounds like the Precept Laddie is the “new” Zip
It very well could be. If Wilson doesn't have an applicable replacement, and they decide to take them off the shelves, then it is a close alternative.
@@GolfBallAddictI retract this comment after watching the Wilson Boost review..
What is the difference between the Laddie and the Laddie Xtreeme?
There is none. It's been the laddie extreme since 2017
gotta get me some Laddies!!
Give them a try for sure. Very soft
Why didn’t you start over with the 10 balls and test them with you present swing
I would love to. However I am already testing 5 golf balls a week. Takes a lot of work to test these. That would have added another month just for this one video.
Where did you get the golf shirt from
Got it on clearance at Marshalls for $20 😁
Out of curiosity, which ball do you play with the most?
Depends on what course I'm playing at and the time of the year it is. But I would say my go-to gamer ball is the vice Pro Plus 2024 model. I also really love the vice air as well.
@@GolfBallAddict Forgot to mention. Senior golfer here who is fixated on yellow colored balls. Just simply see them better. Think the Laddie only comes in white.
Why don’t you do an analysis for older people who have a swing speed in the 70’s and 80’s
I definitely plan on it, but right now I'm just trying to still get through a majority of the golf balls I haven't even tested yet.
Velocity still the longest ball for me because of lower spin.
The velocity has a lot of spring to it and really travels a long way. The only thing that hurt it in the testing is the fact that it's a low launch. The low launch took a few yards off and kept it out of the top 10
Big Vice Tour guy here 🤷
Me too. I love the vice tour. It missed this list by only a few yards
Never heard of 75% of the balls mentioned
Then you need to check out our channel friend.
Just farther walk in to the wood to looking for your ball.
what year are the laddies?
2017 models
Durability is huge for me.
I largely play what I find on the course or what I find cheap in the stores. How about a list for the real world guys. Anything over $20 a dz is out.
I consider myself a real world guy. I can understand not wanting to spend massive amounts, but nothing over 20$? That list will be pretty short.
Can u do another giveaway?
Sure. What would you like? 😎
@GolfBallAddict I have no idea. I just recently watched the video from a year ago, and I loved it ( I'm Alina) just so u know LOL
95 MPH is Not Average
87 to 90 is Average
That's not correct. 93 mph just the official average swing speed for a male in the world. It's used as the standard for both golf ball reviews and robotic testing.
