A lot of AAA games nowadays focus on the graphics rather than the content. Having higher budget to develop the game doesn't mean it is a good game. A good story driven game is a game where you fully immerse in the developer's creativity, not the gameplay. But yeah, the plot of Metal Gear series is extremely sophisticated and the plot twist is just udderly fantastic. MGS3 for example, the greatest villain turns out to be the greatest hero of all time. Despite knowing she was betrayed by her own country, she remains her loyalty, even if it means she will be listed as a war criminal in history. The level of loyalty shown by her made Big Boss ashamed to be called a true patriot, since he is nowhere near that level of patriotism. A plot as good as Metal Gear Solid is just nearly impossible as for today. You need two simple factors. 1) You need creative developers, there is quite a lot of indie games having the advantage of creativity. 2) You need to find a good company with sufficient budget to support these developers. But that is the hardest part, since most companies value revenue over quality. Lootboxes and paid DLCs are such examples.

Not even Cyberpunk 2077 (no offense to cyberpunk). Metal Gear Solid is what the Harry Potter or The Lord of the Ring franchises are to the film industry, it truly developed the gaming industry.
I just played this during the fight against gherman in bloodborne. He was the last boss before getting the platinum. Killed him with a gunshot right as the gun went off in song. Beautiful

I knew it was coming at the end of the video and I heard it so many times years and years ago but still hurts somehow. Only art can produce such feelings and for this I will always see Kojima and every single developer of the MGS saga real artists.

Gives the james bond 007 vibes of this theme this game still has that IT factor years later. Only one you can play as big boss all the way through unlike 5 which i love all has They own flavor and great action packed story
After the recent news with Xbox, I hope that Sony buys Konami so that we can get MGS and Silent Hill on the PS Store (PS5). Maybe even a remake instead of a pachinko machine
I have not found a version of SE by Cynthia in this good of a condition as compared to the Donna Burke(hence im spoiled on the sultry ver by her) but i have to say that after listening to this original is nice in its own unique way.

that was the intention, mgs3 is basically Japanese adaptation of a spy thriller, 007 was a strong influence for the whole game
