I saw someone call MGSV the end of an era for gaming. After thinking about it, I think I can see why. Obviously, there's still good games that come out every year, and not everyone liked MGSV, but I think what happened to this game shows the split in the industry. An artist trying to use the medium to create a compelling story, but held back by those who see it as nothing more but a way to make money off of aggressively monetized mobile and pachinko games. RIP Metal Gear Solid. Truly a legendary series, and no matter how long passes, it will still live on as we continue to return to these masterpieces

I haven't heard this in months, and as it played I began to tear up, and at the part where they sing "THE SINS NEVER DIE", I began to cry. FOREVER THE BEST VIDEO GAME SOUNDTRACK.
That moment when you realize everyone in the game speaks in lines for the trailers. That worse moment when you realize instead of the usual bloated plot they shortened everything to the point where it's totally incomprehensible. That disgusting moment when you realize the trailers already gave away the big reveal if you actually paid attention.
Adoring Fan Not quite. It's good, but clearly unfinished. You can see the vision Kojima had, it pokes through in so many places, if he were given the time to finish this game it would have been a masterpiece. But as it stands there's missing story, severed plot lines, disjointed elements, etc. Allowing Konami to be confident in this game as a masterpiece only reinforces their decision to fire Kojima and rush the product.
Tropical Psychosis the whole 'it's clearly unfinished' thing is more of a meme than reality. Some things were cut from the game, this is the case with literally every game ever released, MGS fans just do more digging and research because of the lore so it gains more weight. People always bring up the fact you can't use battlegear and how 'it's unfinished' where in reality it was just OP as fuck so they cut it. Don't get me wrong, storyline wise it's the weakest MGS but the game is meant to be more open and less linear, that's the price you play; gameplay wise this game shits on not only every other MGS but frankly most games - it is the best stealth shooter ever made, no question. I will concede the story is lacking but it gets the job done.

You could even go so far as to say Quiet represents the argumentative conclusion of the series. There's a reason the story and cinematic language compares her to The Boss on several occasions.

@@johnbeacher5860 no he wanted to finish the story line but the 5th one was taking to long to finish and Konami wasn't making it easy. Mainly because Konami switched from console gaming to mobal gaming and didn't have a need any more for Kojima or the games he was creating. That is why Silent Hill also was canceled.
