Here I am sewing my first pair of jeans. The pattern I am using for these jeans is the Dawn Jeans by Megan Nielsen.
I found the pattern quite challenging for a little beginner like me, but I took my time, and with a lot of work and patience I ended up with the most beautiful pair of jeans.

I absolutely love these jeans. Sewing them challenged my skills, but the pattern was really good and the instructions were very straightforward which helped.
I also recommend that you check out Megan Nielsen's blog because there's a wealth of information on there which I found so useful for all the steps of the pattern.
The fit of these jeans is fantastic, there's something about DYI ing your own jeans, that ensures the jeans hug you in all the right places. I love that this is a high wasted jeans pattern, because I am a fan of high wasted jeans!

I never made a pair of pants before, just watching your video on making them, made me want to create my own.
It’s definitely a journey making you own jeans/trousers/pants but once you’ve made them you feel like a boss 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎😎😎😎

Okay, first things first: think you've got the name for your followers, cuz I'm a bonbon 🍬
Second, button-effin-holes! Sometimes I find my machine works better on full speed, sometimes it needs a calm pace. It's trial and error, and a lot of testing on scrap fabric. BUT YOU DID IT and my proud of you.
Third: I'm screenshotting those topstitches and framing them, cuz that's gorgeous!

The Jeans Look so great!!! I made a pair of white jeans last year but I didn’t use a pattern that was specifically for jeans and they ended up being way too big. So after a year I finally made them smaller.
Well done for making a pair of jeans! And for making alterations! That’s impressive!
Really impressed by how well you did with them and how great they look on you. Aspirational! I have just got a machine and I think it may be my ultimate goal (a year or so down the line perhaps) to have a go at making some jeans! It was my goal to make jeans a year ago or so, so defo go for it when you feel like it!
There’s so many I love, but sometimes I have to look for like the cheaper alternative, as this hobby is getting expensiiiive!!
So The Rag Shop, Croft Mill, New Craft House, Sister Mintaka (haven’t bought from them but their fabric looks so dreamy) Etsy, Fabric Godmother, Sewmesunshine! These are a few I check on the regular and admire their fabrics.
Oh and Minerva Crafts have like a lot of fabric!!!

My fabric was also ecru bull denim so defo give it a go!
My only advice is to follow the grain line (not the obvious line, but the real one - so hard to spot with denim).
I wish I paid more attention with that, as the jeans sit kind of funky around the back of the knees!

Great job on the jeans!! My first pair were ginger jeans and collectively took me around 80 hours!! The following pairs have been much less time consuming

Well done on attempting the jeans! So many steps! Just noticed that at 2.36 while doing the buttonholes, the little black lever was not pulled down to touch the buttonhole foot. The sewing machine manual will have the answer.

Pentru prima pereche de blugi au ieșit extraordinar de bine! La materiale (cu elastan) sau zone de cusut mai dificile, deși e mai mult de lucru, de obicei insăilez (cos de mână) înainte, apoi calc prin presare: astfel coși cu încredere că nu se va întinde la cusut. La materiale subțiri sau nu, la butoniere, brâul pantalonilor sau fuste, poți lipi pe interior întăritură cu fierul de călcat tot prin presare, apoi se lasă să se racească 1-2 minute. Are ținută mai bună și ăți ușurează munca. Sănătate și spor la toate!

You are very entertaining 🤭 jeans look amazing, you are very skilled. I know the materials very a bit pricey, but you got a pair of jeans you get to customise and fit exactly how you want. You don't get that with rtw.

That’s a very good questions. I remember just buying them from an online fabric shop - I think they are called jeans buttons and the things that go around the pockets are rivets! Hope this helps!

Hey! What sewing machine do you use for the jeans and how much is the machine? What you recommend?
So it’s the Janome 360DC - it handled the jeans but just … but I do enjoy sewing with it and I would recommend it for every day sewing.

Man, bless you for this video 🙏 I've been super intimidated since buying the pattern because my hip/waist measurement were giving me whack sizing like yours (0 hip and 8 waist on someone who always has the bring in the waist of my jeans 🥴).
