    I tested the PDF draft for sizes 0-20
    There is also the CURVE 14-30 size range separately
    I can finally share! I tested this pattern months ago and it´s partially the reason for my jean craze. I know I said I´d never make jeans....but.... I have done a 180 degree turn in my thinking.
    The Dawn jeans are designed for NON stretch denim and bottom weight fabric. They have a higher rise and fit snug at the hips. There are 4 views for the legs:
    A Tapered
    B Straight
    C Wide
    D Shorts
    All the views have different length options: regular, cropped and tall inseam.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    My specifics:
    * I made size 16 for all the views (34-44)
    * I divided the curved waistband to have side seams.
    * I needed extra space on the side seam below the yoke and above my full hip and used a 3/8" seam allowance there.
    * View D Shorts: added 2" to the length.
    * View C Wide leg: cropped length. Contrast patch pockets and innner hip yoke in faux leather (Never again!)
    * View B straight leg. Full tall inseam (I´m 5ft 8). I can cuff them to wear with heels.
    I won´t be making view A for now.
    The great experience with this pattern test drove me to make the Ash jeans, from Megan Nielsen also:
    Love all of these styles Karina I like the look of this pattern. I wouldn't have dreamed of sewing a pair of non stretch jeans (or any jeans) not so long ago but you are inspiring me to have a go. Thank you for posting x
    I use adding machine paper when working on a sticky or flimsy fabric . I then fold it against the stitching and it comes out easily.
    Love your idea on making the waistband in sections to be able to make adjustments! I have been stalling on making some new pants because I am hoping to lose some weight in the next couple of months but I really new ones now. So I will be using your idea. Thank you!
    Another wonderful video, you’re such a trooper for not giving up with the pleather! I’m wondering whether the little bit on the hip that you had to let out a bit was because of the bulk of the pocket fabric there and maybe your hip on that side is the tiniest bit bigger than on the other side, I know that one whole side of my body is a little bigger than the other and from what I know, most people are the same
    They are all beautiful Karina. I love the fabric in the shorts. I think you would look lovely in the tapered leg, still cropped but maybe in a lighter weight cotton patterned summer fabric. I think it would look cute. I have never sewn leather or faux would a walking foot help? Look forward to seeing what you come up with next Xxx
    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 ปีที่แล้ว
      I’ll give them a go. I have just the fabric for thy style. Ugh the faux leather sticks to the foot. I need a Teflon one. I still haven’t tried my walk g foot 🤦🏻‍♀️. I have a piece left of the faux leather but I doubt I’ll be using it again. Thanks for watching 😊.
  • @myralorraine
    @myralorraine 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2
    Very nice Karina! All of them are absolutely lovely and so sorry about your struggles with the photo leather! Yes I think a simple little “teflon“ foot would have worked beautifully for you…however, you made it work perfectly (and the bias binding around the coin pocket was genius!) We’re going to have to dub you the “Make It Work” Queen!
    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 ปีที่แล้ว
      Well you do what you need 😂. I had a Teflon foot in Bolivia but I don’t here. I’ll look for one because I still have faux leather left. Thanks for watching 😊
    These are great on you. I love the linen especially. How far above your ankle is the hem? I think that’s where my “cropped” pants miss the mark, I’m not finding the right hem height and I like yours a lot!
    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 ปีที่แล้ว
      It’s 2” above the “bone”. I’m liking that length although I’ve used shorter before. This was the regular hem length on the jeans .... but it hits cropped on me.
  • @cianamcmurray9412
    Strips of paper will make sewing leather or faux leather easier. Just sew right over it it rips right out
    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 ปีที่แล้ว
      That could’ve worked for the hip yoke pockets. For the patch pockets I had to fold them in somehow 😩. I’m glad that’s over for now. I think in time I will replace that with other black fabric when I find the right type.
    Hi Karina, these pants do fit you SO well! Unicorn jeans! Lol
    I am curious as to how you found the rise in this particular pattern. It is described as high waisted, sitting on the natural waist. I think I remember you saying you prefer mid rise. I find high rise pants/any garment hurts my stomach! Where dose the waistband sit on you??
    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1
      They sit midrise on me. My natural waist is about an inch higher. I find them super confortable.
    Sweetheart, your shirt is covering the part of your jeans that shows the fit. Please lift your shirt so we can see it.
      If you’ve watched my vlogs before you know I don’t tuck in or show that area of my body. I did lift my tops to show the waistband and the fit on the side/bottom and the pockets. That’s all I’m comfortable with showing and I hope that can be respected. The way I showed the trousers is how I dress in real life.
