I think for the toecap one you would rather the metal take the blast than the kinetic energy to go to your foot, the metal sole? Was placed on top of another where as the other wasn’t. Prolly overthinking it a bit though
@@Kero-zc5tcno no youve got a point, but meanwhile what about the dented metal going into your foot? like metal armor getting pounded by warhmers and heavy weapons, the metal would go straight into you instead anyway
@@Daniel-wu6pl I’ve heard they have metal caps purposefully because it cuts your toes clean, idk how.
Finally someone who got the right shoes for me, where I’m from it’s normal to get hammered in your toes and stabbed with a metal rod on the bottom of my foot
if you're working in a factory it's just a tuesday when that happens tbh
The shoes are meant to be easily breakable so your toes and feet have some wiggle room so that they don’t stop working!
Those metal toe caps have been known to sever toes in a crush. All OSHA and CSA boots should be upgraded to this type if they are indeed superior in a crush type accident.
they're supposed to do that
@@fuguyea but instead of them cutting of ur toes and saving them for later just not have them severed in the first place💀
As the other person said. It's so you get a clean cut and can have them put back on and also so you're not trapped.
@@flippedoutcookie Don’t you think if they can engineer a toe cap that doesn’t crush and amputate your toes that’s the best option. As well if those toes are crushed, meaning the bones are crushed they will not be reattached.
@Jaedyn 88 y'all just don't comprehend the variety of workplaces. these would be fine while say, building a house. maybe some heavy piece of wood max. then go to a metal fabrication shop where you could drop a single piece that weights 35 houses. nothing is indestructible.

Used to work in a warehouse that I had to manually load 6000 lb rolls of paper into a printing machine. Old guys said don't wear steel toe, they'll cut off your toes. Use the safety toe alternative because they'll crack before they break instead of compressing like this. Those guys told me some real scary shit at that newspaper company. Machinery can be very unforgiving. It eats people sometimes. Second scariest job I ever had.
But they still be like "steel toes are required"

Anyone that’s saying this is a fair test this is two thin pieces of sheet metal compared to one solid thick piece of metal. A solid piece of metal isn’t gonna just bend like a two thin pieces of sheet metal.
They hit their own product HARDER?! now you KNOW you can trust them
wait wouldn't the hit go somewhere else since the product isn't breaking?
( I hope im not dumb )
@whatThehellisThis. Nah your right sorta, when an impact occurs, all kinetic energy is transfered onto the colliding object, and said kinetic energy is then dispersed across the surface. However, this is only a reliable thought process when both objects are made entirely of the same material throughout, however, a steel toe boot is only steel in the front, whereas the rest is softer, much more flexible material, forcing the energy to centralize solely in the toe section of the boot

@16bitsx but will break your toes instead of doing its actual job
My farrier had a horse step on his foot while wearing a steel toed boot. The steel crumbled under the weight and crushed his foot in. That foot is permanently messed up so this kind of boot is a lifesaver!
I'm a farrier and don't matter what u wear it's going to be crushed by a 1,200+ pound beast
Now THATS how you compare a product with others
Finally, a hard to break product that isn't a safe hazard.
The best working shoe I've ever seen
One issue with it. The only reason why steel toes are better is because if something falls on it with the force to break that plastic toe it shatters. The weight comes down crushes your toes. The steel bends down and severs your toes off clean enough they can many times be reattached. That plastic shrapnel needs to be seen to be removed. Clearly the plastic will protect you better. But also he hits the weakest part of the metal toe. Seems better to use both products plastic over steel.
