Thats why even broken systems getting higher prices on ebay. Everyone try or may think they can fix it. Over 15 years back at the time GBA was around you got very easy and cheap broken items, because noone want to fix them. It was that easy that you got 2 broken systems like a GBC, one with a display crack, but still makes sounds and a "not working" system with intact display. And here the joke: 5bucks each. A working GBC was worth 45-50bucks back then. So it was worth it, even if you bought 4 broken systems and 2 of them would stay dead. Today: a system is "broken" but still costs over a half of a working system. Not worth imo, even if you able to fix it. There's always a risk that you waste your money (and time) with a system that is maybe fixable but need spare parts that makes the fix more expensive. Last time i checked how much a PS Vita costs and ppl bid over 50 bucks on a not working system...

Switches definitely aren't as kid friendly as previous Nintendo consoles. Oh, and this was a great video, I like these tech wave things you do. I hope people don't think everyone will get this lucky but it does happen! Thanks for a brilliant Video! I'm glad to see someone working on these foreign platforms. (Hq in Kyoto, when products come here then we should have someone who can Deal.) Just saying (saying a lot) my career began in 1958 selling my first at age 5 by my self made transistor substitution box to an Electronic novelist! Well, every since struggling with foreign technology, however, I had managed to repair every device that was handed to me for 53 years, also 48 seasonal years of Carp, plumbing, and Electricity. Well, at the University of CO, after hearing much about many Game Schools opening here, 2007 thru 2011, I asked if they taught or had Classes that I could take to fix foreign Game systems , I was shocked, no classes offered Electronics in this area. There I was on my own as usual! Today, we still need a School that can teach foreign tech's. You're the Guy for the Job, ha-ha! Good-Luck (No Schools here as of yet. I would open an Engineering Institute but lack the funding, you know Tv, Game, and Switch tools cost can rise $200,000 just for some of the tools that you need for Repairing Tv's.)
i mean, yeah, the battery had alot of adhesive on it, but.. it Was easy to get to, and all you have to deal with is the adhesive. You dont have to take off other parts like the main board or anything like that just to get to it, so in that sense, the Switch battery is fairly easy to replace (easier than a phone battery for sure). The fact that all the parts are modular is a nice thing too. Nintendo, intentionally or not, made a easy to work on system.
Considering he said it was most likely a kid's switch I'm surprised he didn't try checking to see if the system wasn't in RCM before taking it apart and swapping out the battery
Chuck Pursell problem with getting electronics wet is the corrosion. It will oxidize the copper on the board over time and the whole thing will eventually crap out.
Imagine the parent of the kid that owned the switch saw the video and realized the fact that they could have just replaced the battery lol

i been lucky on ebay buying stuff listed as borken for parts and works perfectly fine
you can also get real lucky if you take the risk..I once bought a pile of 24 ipods(touches and classics and 3 shuffles) they were listed as untested and I won the bid for 110$ ..turns out 15 of em were working, just needed charge, 7 had simple software issues and 2 were blown batteries..made a heap of money from fixing and reselling those...but thats just a lucky one..iv known people who've got themselves into disasters too
My fiancé informed me that no, you cannot do everything to mega man music....
And we proved her wrong mate.
Already back to fixing consoles lol awesome video dude
I bought one on amazon, it was so worth it! It costed $100 less... And it came in perfect condition
great seeing you at too many games hope you had a good time
I still can't process how would someone have the Switch UI set to the light theme, that's ridiculous
I love the music you've been using spawn! Great work sound tracks
You technally don't need a dock, just chargeing device.
and joy-cons or pro controller.
You could save money by using a Hori pro controller. I wouldn't use a third party charging cable. Due to Nintendo's weird PD0 implementation.
I love Spawn Wave's videos like this! They are always so informative to watch.
I would have tried to get the Switch back to the kid. Probably difficult to get it to them but they probably would be happy to have it back.
Most likely got a new one. No point if that's the case
@@JDarkAngeI I'd gladly have 2 working Switches.
I use the light mode to check if the screen protector instalation was successful.
That would be it.
The first thing I ever did with my Switch was set the dark mode.
SAME
Same
Same here and I didn't even know it had a dark mode setting before I bought it. The first thing I did when I got my switch was go through the settings and I happened to find it. I turned it on immediately.
Really not worth it to buy a repaired Switch tablet only. As you said you need the Dock and Joycons and don't forget the Joycon Grip which would come bundled all new for 299$.
used switch 80
knock off switch pro controller 30
usbc hdmi adapter 20
poor mans switch bro
@@participantx yeah that might be a solution if you don't care about oem products
Console nickname says, "Danny's Switch." Sorry little buddy but it's Spawn Wave's Switch NOW!
There are many like it, but this one is mine!
I get chills at seeing people using the touch screen, like is a normal function but seeing a small mark of fingerprints or dust in my screen gets all my attention while playing and I always have to clean it. I'm mad too that my dock scratched the sides of the screen...
you seem to be very lucky, i bet 90% of the times the switch will not work because of water damage.
I’ve found with the switch. If it hasn’t be charged in a long time like yours. It will need to be charged overnight to wake up the battery. Sure you’ll want to replace it but it’ll be good enough to use from them on.
YES I love these types of videos
Very unique for TH-cam
For the battery removal use a little bit of clean ethanol. It makes it very easy to remove anything with adhesive, especially batteries on the phones.
And... its time for me to start jacking up prices on my auctions! Looking forward to your business!
Would be good for HomeBrew
Haha we use light mode! Awesome video! :D
I do, I use the light mode, because dark mode is too depressing.
These type of videos should be called FixWave 😂
i mean, yeah, the battery had alot of adhesive on it, but.. it Was easy to get to, and all you have to deal with is the adhesive.
Rip Danny’s switch
F
Bob: can we fix it?
Everyone: Yes we can!
I have a switch and ITS MY BABY :> I'll never let mine get broken! Lol
Considering he said it was most likely a kid's switch I'm surprised he didn't try checking to see if the system wasn't in RCM before taking it apart and swapping out the battery
Where are you getting the tablet portion for $150 and is it new?
Darkhearts it’s called Google and not picking the first page.
@@bizzzzzzle Only seeing ebay as an option which none at that price are new.
What a great channel. I enjoy watching your vids al the time!
So I got my switch wet and it like murdered the screen but it still works in docked mode, is it an easy fix so I can play it in handheld again?
Chuck Pursell problem with getting electronics wet is the corrosion. It will oxidize the copper on the board over time and the whole thing will eventually crap out.
Chuck Pursell should have gotten the water proof switch
This is a great instructional video. I’m hoping to see more of these in the future.
My Switch rails are really rough so I attempted to fix it, but I was dumb and stripped the screws.
