I bought both of these Nintendo Switch lite consoles on eBay 3-4 months ago. They were $100 each, and at the time, they were the cheapest switch consoles on eBay (excluding consoles listed as broken) by $20-$25... little strange, right? Let's see if they're any good!

I really need to venture out into Facebook marketplace land to see if I can find some switches for like $50 😂
3rd party USB C chargers are not the same. If you use a cheap quality charger, it will actually brick it.
@@LampHatScottCan confirm, didn't brick mine but fried the USB c port
@@LampHatScottright, key word being cheap..
@@videogamemadness88 I was talking about charging cables.
Hello jrob, I saw you made a video on how to increase your download speed on like xbox and stuff, it was something like 3 years ago but none of them worked for me, I dont know how to increase my download speed, I have a cat8 ethernet cable and the xbox series x, My internet is never terrible or bad, But I download games at 25mbps, It literally takes me 20 minutes to get like 5gb downloaded, Do you possibly have any other methods on how I can increase my speed, Is there a setting or something im missing? my download speed is no different from when I had NO ethernet cable and Back then i had the xbox one, surely having an ethernet cable and the series x would increase my download speed but its exactly the same.
Please help.
I have to believe those Switch lites were owned by young children. Scratches, hair, soda stains, really leads to it being a child’s toy, probably played with outside, and dropped multiple times. Goes to show how well built those machines are to still be running.
Japanese build everything well
@@jobturkey7418 until it comes to standard switches lmao
Kids shouldn’t have switches unless they can care for them
@@ravenbaa7989agree I don’t allow my neighbor who is like in 2nd grade not touch my switch and Basically anything in my room and my parents say I have to when they come over but I just put on a movie and go to my room because I don’t trust them
Caring about the cleanliness of your console is sissy
I paid 20 bucks for one. Turns out all that was wrong with it was their kid slightly popped the back off, and the power/volume contact rubber was pinched . Moved it back and 0 issues haha
Holyyyyy
Luckyyyyy were there games on it or was all tye data moved/wiped?
Nintendo doesn’t exactly follow the USB-C PD protocol meaning that the Switch asks for a different amount of power than it actually needs meaning a charger could give it more power than it really needs leading to the switch getting fried. The OEM Switch Charger regulates power and knows that the Switch doesn’t actually need the amount of power that it’s asking for. A lot of third party power adapters have a potential of bricking the Switch so it’s advised to always use the first party dock/power adapter for the Nintendo Switch 😅.
I actually bought a pair of badly drifting joycons pretty cheap once for the whole purpose of repair. I got them for like 15 bucks because they had terrible stick drift and were in pretty poor condition physically, but other than the joysticks they worked fine. I ended up using it to mod them into custom joy cons with custom shells (the one that makes it look like the original game boy). Figured it would be a fun project to make custom joy cons and not have to worry about ruining my main set, just in case I screwed something up. It turned out great, and they are now my main joy. After everything was said and done I now have a set of custom joy cons and I only spent around $40 total
Nintendo fixes joy cons for free.
This is what DKOldies will send you when you buy a “Refurbished” consoles 💀
(Edit: Mom I’m famous)
😂
It's not this good lol
After you buy it for 300$ first
DKoldies has been getting better (slowly). But they are still overpriced
@@FennecTECH doubt. When they aren't posting fake positive reviews or staging videos of their "refurbishment", they are doubling down on their "we open, clean and test every console" bit despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Hey Jacob I am o I am one of Mrs.R's school students she showed us your channel
i love your smooth shameless transitions into an ad lol i might buy a ugreen with your link now
😂😂 I’m glad someone appreciates them. They are nice bricks. I carry the 65w one in my bag now so I can charge all my junk at the same time
We had a rule at home of preserving the og controllers and use third party ones... I've been using the og ps2 ones since 2012 (my mom got the console in 08) and yesterday one of them started to drift. I know how to solder well so im just waiting for the replacement...
If Jacob puts a video up, WE FAST AF
Let’s gooo
Yea
Fast asf boyyyy

if you wanna really test stick drift, have a save of animal crossing ready and try to target a dig spot lmao
Somehow my regular switch's joycons havent drifted yet, and its not like i dont use those joy cons. I use them, not overusing, but just like normal usage of the joycons. That switch and joycons were bought in 2021 march, and the switch and joycons still look new
So I did have stick drift in the left stick in the first release version of Switch that I bought within few months since console was released. Drift wasn't there from the beginning but I was never too abusive to joycons. It just suddenly started after some game. It was not constant so I could often play some without drift then suddenly it was happening and annoying (imagine platform game with character auto running off the plattform). It was on and off, not constant problem but once it was on it took some time (and moving around stick etc) before it was normal again. I ended up selling console some time later and got myself v2, Oled and Lite, none of these I had drift on...yet and lets hope it stays (this time I got more than 1 pair off joycons in backup hehe).
I've had a switch for 4 years now and had no idea the screen is touch screen..
Those eBay Nintendo Switch deals are definitely too good to be true. It's crazy how dirty and damaged those consoles were on the inside
Unless you know how to work on your own devices
Ebay just about getting lucky. Got copy of Pokemon Blue for $30. Opened it up and was real.
"let me know if this discoloration is normal."
*me who sees the insides of a switch for the first time*
"no that's not normal."
I had to replace both thumbsticks on my son's switch lite. If I remember right one side was relatively easy and the other was a giant pain. Hope these sticks last longer than the nintendo ones.
Reminds me of my 3DS, I got a second one had, and it was owned by a kid also seeing from the photo's. However I have it many years now and it works still perfectly
I had a terrible time with drift when I first got my switch, maybe because it was second hand from GameStop. I returned two left joycons and by the third one I decided I was going to start replacing the thumb sticks. I haven't had any issues since then, now as a standard practice I replace the sticks with better ones
These Switches were definitely owned by children, with no knowledge of how to care for them.
As for the infamous stick drift? I had the launch switch, the improved battery model, now a OLED. Never once encountered it, despite playing docked 85% of the time, only using handheld when travelling or my partner is busy with the TV.
Funny thing about Stick drift... I still have my Launch Day JoyCons and they... dont drift. AT ALL. The only controllers I actually had to replace because of bad joysticks were 360 and GC Pads so far. Never anything else... oh, there was one N64 stick, too. But that wasnt Stick drift and more... limp stick XD
Wait you actually replace controllers because of stick drift I put mine away and the stick drift went away by itself
@@Blacksnowfanfics back in the GC and 360 era I did buy new ones. Nowadays I try to fix them. Hey, I was a teen back then, I did stuff differently. I also take better care ofy stuff nowadays, which might be why my OG launch day joycons still work 100%
@@Rosa_Canina well i've got more than one switch and three sets of joycons so if one gets drift I just swap it with one of the other ones
@@Blacksnowfanficswhy do you need more than 1 switches tho
"I've never experienced Joycon drift..." Ok, I'm going to call BS on this guys content
Me and my twin bro both have switch lites work just fine going STRONG for almost 2 years now 😊😊
I found one at goodwill bins for 5$ the joycon was snapped so I replaced it I bought the replacement cheap on Amazon and then it was good as new lol
Definitely had stick drift . I've had to fix the left joy con 3vtime over the last few years. Only ever the left stick.
i guess they made the right one... *right*
i'll leave now
I don’t have an original switch that’s the whole reason. I’m watching this video.
plot twist: he raided dkoldies' supply and will make videos on what he stole until the end of time
I'm lucky enought that both my original switch and my OLED switch don't have any drift whatsoever. My switch does have broken plastic under the left joustick, but it doesn't seem to have interfered with play at all.
9:37 you had me for a sec
My very first launch model Nintendo Switch got very bad stick drift
i got perfectly working and clean Nintendo lite for 80$ and with animal crossing included battery was also perfect condition
Kids shouldn’t have these things unless they can look after them
The little screen crack edit made me laugh
9:37 If Apple made Switches 😆
You should show more videos of you opening up consles!
oh it's an advert
I mean, a Switch is a Switch 😏
I've had to replace my switch controlers for the stick dirft but I've had my lite for about 3 years n I've never had a problem
Nice video man love your work
Thank you
i have had stick drift, had to have it sent to nintendo a few years ago. and now its happening again...
please do not buy the sponsored item. you should not be charging anything at a voltage that nintendo does not recommend. It will damage your battery long-term.
I had a Pro controller that had left stick-drift.
So you bought them cheap and expected them to be in good condition?? That makes a lot of sense right 😂😂
9:36 heart attack
My joycons started drifting six months after i got my switch
I swear every time I see someone selling a switch lite on marketplace the rubber thumb stick pieces are missing
Pretty obvious these were owned by literal children. At least, I hope no fully functioning adult would treat their gaming console this poorly.
Don't have a switch lite but we have bought two new joycons because of stick drift. Right con went out while I was playing smash, left con went out while my husband was playing totk
The Ugreen charger will harm your battery, dont get it!
I saw one for like 40 bucks and brand new with the Pokémon on the background with no issues I bought it was worth it
How is $25 cheaper than the other cheap switches suspiciously cheap? Seems spot on if it’s really as bad as you say it is with all the scratches and dirt but it’s a used consul that some kid was playing with. You have to expect all that I think you just saved 25 bucks because it was all scratched up and had no thumb caps. doesn’t seem suspicious to me.
You see 2 switches in the same condition, but one is $25 cheaper. How is that not suspicious?
@@jrob0021 because it’s all scratched and dirty and missing thumb caps. Suspicious to me is under $50
I would never chance using this brick with my switch.only use oem bricks for switch and switch lite.
those caps were so cute wtf
man you should be getting like Ebay buyer protection reinbursements if youre getting a console in a bubble mailer lol
Honestly I’m surprised it arrived intact in a bubble mailer 😂
Does the consoles are banned from Nintendo Network ?
honestly i'm surprised you didn't have gloves on
Gamer juice 😂
Is that Nintendo switch lite
did you mention you were sponsored? i was confused on the lack of mentions about it
I bought a fully functional and preserved psp with a charger and a game for $60, was it worth it?
Nope
@@ismaelalvarez8661 it was
I determin that the large sales of Nintendo Switch consoles are as much because of how beat up and broken they get, than because everyone actually has them. How many times has a parent bought a replacement Switch?
I dunno, most kids nowadays would just be playing roblox instead, especially if theyre bad at taking care of devices
Man. I’d resell the thing
That yellow switch looks moldy.
Nice videos man.
Someone needs to by this man gloves
I’ve gotten stick drift on my original joy cons but so far I haven’t gotten it again and hopefully never do.
idk i prefer the GULIKIT ones by far but i just use my Gulilit King Kong Pro 2 instead as my main Switch controller
I have gotten stick drift... do to the fact my gf is heavy handed an since she used my switch the controllers are messed up.
i had stick drift on my xbox controller but it fixed it self over time
thumb caps are like 50 cents....
Got 6 joycons Nintendo won't fix 😢
Average cosmenticly flawed dk oldies switch
Weirdly enough, my gray joycons drifted after 5 years, but the neon ones in months started to drift
How do you get the heat censoring app on a android phone
Man how's it getting so dirty.....kids...come on man settle down.
Those nintendo switches were owned by cavemen savages 😂
Ikr?
also known as children
i get that hes selling his switch because its dirty and thats fine and all but the problem is i dont understand how he even managed to get it that dirty
I've had every iteration of the switch and have never ended up with stick drift. But then again... I also have an Xbox X Series and a gaming computer so I don't play my systems hardcore.
My brother wants the Nintendo switch not the Lite but the other one and I don’t know if I should get it from eBay but I can only afford a certain price 😕 any recommendations?
The battery of my switch is, how can I say it, pregnant. It's puffed out so much that it has created a gap of about an inch between the front and back cover. It still works but does anyone know about how long I have before it goes boom! It's been like this for about a year and still gets used for at least 14 hours a day. Any ideas of what to do with it? If I have to buy a new one I just hope it will last me until the new Switch 2 comes out in a few months hopefully because it would be a waste of money to buy one now.
I got a switch lite for $80 listed as broken. All it needed was a $9 ribbon cable.
I hope he knows those switch's were very probably used by children, bc he doesn't act like it
Gamer juice lol
I have a playstation tv for sale in the Netherlands
I spawned bro 😂
Nice Vid!
I have stick drift
W Jacob!
You should invest in some type of tweezer bro. Dealing with sticky stuff trust me those make a huge easier difference then your oily pulsing hands.
