Yes please, I would love to see the meat velveting video, also if you have not done one yet, a video on preparing aged garlic plus other processes for storage of garlic long term. Thank you. 👍
A chef once told me that the most simple dishes are often the most difficult to get right, as there are usually limited ingredients that need perfectly balancing....this recipe underlines this theory; Having just followed your instructions, these few ingredients have produced a 100% perfect Chinese take away chicken chow mein ! Subscribed and looking forward to trying more of your fantastic recipes.
Yeah jamaicans call them scallions too.. What an ace video, I've watched so many other Chinese cookin vids but this gives u so much, thankyou for sharin years of knowledge n secrets, much appreciated, God bless u both 🙏
I made this today and I must say velverting the chicken is a game changer,i honestly couldn't believe how tender the chicken was and how i have never heard of this. Probably the best chow mein I've had and so simple. Thanks for sharing.
I have watched one of your other tutorials for making chicken chow mein and gotten great results. Helps that I got the recommended ingredients from your shop for best results.
Having visited Taiwan twice many years ago, I love proper Chinese food, the way it is prepared and the way it is eaten. I’m glad I found your channel as it is informative and a laugh!
Really well presented. Simple, straightforward, to the point and really succeeding in conveying the important elements. Thanks, I'd struggled with this for years. It is rare, in my opinion, that someone can communicate so clearly.
I have just made your chicken chow main … Chicken Balls….. wow wow wow…. My husband said it’s as good as any take away…. How about that for praise….. Next to try will be your Shredded Chilly Beef….. love the mum and son thing you have going on…. Keep up the good work …. So glad l have found you both.❤
Thanks the second one has loads more recipes in and is completely different to the 1st, everyone that’s bought the second has said how it’s as good as the first if not better :)
I followed your recipe and it's been a revelation, especially velveting the chicken. Just brilliant. My wife is loving her new favourite supper! Thank you.
Mom and son have a beautiful rapport and relationship. I live that mum lets the young son do his thing and supports him and not yakes over like alot of parents do. I love that he defers to her for expert advise and demos. I can that both love cooking and feeding people as well as being together.
Yes please velveting and seasoning. Just had to say I've recently made your best version curry paste and my word its tremendous stuff. Im a chef nearly 26 years and love a Chinese takeaway afterwork. I've tried to replicate the curry sauce for years and never got anything like close to the real deal. A massive masive thankyou for that gem of a recipe. For anyone saying it looks a lot of work i beg you just push on and make the damn paste😂. When ever i open my fridge and see that paste I still can't believe i have the "actual" answer to my search for curry heaven🤯
I made the chicken balls , battered chicken and it was very nice! My wife enjoyed too ! Next I'm making beef and mushrooms and I'm going to add noodles ! Thanks for the videos .
Ive just made this tonight for eat and i did everything exactly the same. I can honestly say it was really tasty and the chicken was next level. Thank you.
OMG I've made this twice now & I'm pleased to say that my chow mein tastes nicer than my local Chinese takeaway! I absolutely love your channel, so thank you for this 😊
Every time I've cooked one of your dishes and followed your instructions, my wife has been amazed at how good it tastes. Keep up the good work. We love this chow mein recipe, and I don't cook it any other way now. Velvet, your chicken people! You won't regret it!
Thanks 😊 unlike the other channels, we are still chefs, the only other one that still chefs is Khoan Vong and we highly recommend him for takeaway style cooking
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshopprepping it now…. I usually boil the chicken but velveting it today 🙌 Thanks for the great recipes I’ve learnt. My family love them. Where can I purchase your book ???? 💯❤️🙇♂️
I want to say thank you so much for sharing your culinary knowledge across this channel. I just completed this recipe and it was absolutely delicious. I made sure to velvet the chicken (I used tapioca starch which seemed to work well) and I used all your recommended ingredients especially the noodles which are top! I added a scotch bonnet chilli and 3 large garlic cloves with the spring onions - I think this really unlocked the flavours! Next up is to try your sweet and sour sauce recipe, thanks for reigniting my love of cooking!
Tried this recipe tonight.. we order Chow Mein in every weekend... this time i made it myself... and boy was it good! Feels better cooking it yourself... thank you !
Ive watched your videos from the start and im embarrassed to say havent commented before - i know it helps you with the algorithm! These in depth videos are fantastic. Its fine copying a how to step by step, but to get people cooking properly they need the information behind why you do things a certain way. And yes id love to cook something more authentic 👍
That’s ok :) and it’s not until we make the videos and see the comments we release what we’ve missed, as most of this is second nature to us and don’t even think

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshopWow. It’s ridiculous how some people act! But I knew you would have had some…. Stupid really. Great channel btw. Only came across you guys a few days ago, used to work in a Chinese takeaway myself so it’s good to see how it’s all made! Thank you!
Looks fantastic have to give this a go. Some takeaways serve sloppy noodles which I hate. I love a nice dry chow mein and with that Smokey taste which I now know you get from cooking the noodles properly. Great video thankyou
Thank you for a very informative video. I have been looking for one like this to make chow mein and vegetable lo mein. The preparation and cooking of the noodles helped me greatly!
Very good tips about rinsing noodles and not stirring too much. When I worked in a take-away we fried the chicken first and then put to one side to add back later. Then fry the onions and beansprouts until cooked then add noodles and seasoning. Add chicken at the end before serving. These days I don't add MSG but it's just personal choice.
Another great video, guys! Love the chow mein vids especially, as it's something I'm trying to perfect. I have to improvise when it comes to adding the noodles though. I have all the right ingredients & follow every step... but if I add the noodles to my wok like you guys do, they just bizarrely fuse flat to the pan! Any idea what's happening? The only thing I have different to you folks is a proper 14 inch "School of Wok" wok (properly seasoned, of course). Many thanks in advance & keep up the great work!
Been watching your video’s for a long time and they have really helped me improve my Chinese cooking. But this video is even better than your previous chow mien one as it has fantastic detail and great explanations. Thx, please keep them coming 😍👍
When Younger our chow mein always came with a light sauce, now however from the local Chinese it's dry and 'Caramelised to death!! used to be a fav, think I might try my own now!! Thanks!
