Man, I’d love for these to be 40 minute plus. I feel like there is a lot more to talk about. But I’m just thankful you guys post anything. Your team at Nerd Soup is fantastic
Georg Bergsten yeah, but this is a spoiler discussion. I know they had another spoiler discussion for episodes 1-3 or are you referring to discussion forms?
Georg Bergsten I sent a reply to Greg but I’m really curious what you are talking about. It could be going over my head but are you referring to discussion forms because this is a spoiler podcast
I'd be Super interested in hearing the Nerd Soup thoughts on a scene by scene analysis of the trailer. There was a lot in there and this crew always deep dives just right.
The only issue I have with this review is that they didn't talk about how it was Frenchie who handed Grace Mallory's grandchildren to Lamp Lighter. It makes sense why he turned his life around to help The Boys defeat Vought in an attempt at redemption for those kids' deaths.
He never handed the kids to lamplighter and he was already with the boys when it happened. He was meant to be tailing lamplighter but went off mission and because of that Mallory’s grandkids died. He never handed them to lamplighter. And he was already with the boys. (If this is a comic spoiler I don’t want to fucking hear it)
That final scene when Homelander returns to Doppleganger.... *YES!* they're doing it - _they're going with the original comic series Homelander twist!_ How did you miss this??!!
The cinematography of starlight when she's in her costume is phenomenal. The way that they are sexualuzing her with the camera shots, mainly lower back shots, and showing her off is honestly genius. Because I really hate seeing all of it. Normally in shows I'd be all for it, but I just feel disgusting looking at her. They really make me sympathize with theae characters.
Lmao pretty much every single scene with Hughy + Starlight or Butcher + Becca I was so scared. I expected Homelander to just show up and kill someone or otherwise fuck things up.
i Wonder if Doppelganger's 'Homelander" body will come into play at all this season. HL'er can easily fake his own death now, if he wanted to lol. Seemed that Doppleganger's body kept it's form, i wonder if even the DNA would be the same.
I can watch Homelander murder and maim people all day, I love his character and this show so much.... But something about that shot of the mutilated face after "Liberty" Murdered that woman's brother...it really just didn't sit well with me. Sometimes less is more and I don't know if they needed to show that. A mutilated face is already pretty bad, but for it to be racial motivated....makes it seem particularly nasty, especially when this stuff has LITERALLY happened in recent history, ( Emmett Till )not to mention with all the race wars earlier in the year...it was just strange they showed that.... Well, The show doesn't pull punches...we know that for sure, curious what you guys think.
I thought was a way to better illustrate Stormfront/Liberty’s nastiness and danger. We know she is powerful, but I feel like the show usually highlights Homelander as THE most powerful. To me that scene (while gross) let Stormfront become a more formidable foe. Who knows what shenanigans she’ll pull
@@KatieLHall-fy1hw Liberty was said to have been a tier 2 superhero, which, if she and Stormfront are the same person, wouldn't put her powers near Homelander's.
I thought this was the most boring episode of the season so far. I agree they took a step back, and it does feel right for this time in the story. I think my only issue was the amount of time spent on sex and the standard talk after which I've seen so many times in shows and movies. It's not that I have a problem with sex. I watch your average share of adult material, and am not religious. If some important or interesting things are said like with Butcher, it seems more fitting. But, we have Frenchie banging, then Butcher for the 2nd time in the show, then Huey for the 2nd time, and basically Homelander having relations with Doppleganger. It's just too much filler for my liking. It almost feels like a romantic comedy. The episode did have some great moments though, so I'm still excited to watch the next.
I went through that, love of my life, we stopped talking for about a summer she gets kids with someone who doesn't stay and I know I can't stay either so we move on
Is Stormfront into Homelander as he's the image of the ubermenschen? Blue eyes blonde ? That got me wondering how old she is especially given the origins of Vought in Nazi germany.
I think Kamiko should stay the way she is, training would make her less fun to watch I feel like. she's basically the closest thing The Boys have to a Hulk or maybe Wolverine but be a better comparison. Not only is she strong and have a healing ability but she's also got this feral animalistic aspect to her, she's unpredictable.
This is such a fantastic show, depicting that people with superpowers would really think of us normies. Just look at how people act with mere elected power, let alone god-like power they didn't even have to earn. (granted, I'm from the Chicago area, so I'm pretty jaded on how well people handle power in any capacity).
A train is umm, a big waste of space •_• his story doesn’t really go anywhere , hell I thought he died in the first season , so seeing him contribute nothing to the story is boring, And the deep is really not that deep...I don’t care about him or his story, it’s like everyone is a little kid in the show
This show is becoming dumb. 1. The fugitives boys walking around, eating in restaurants in public place doesn't at all make sense. 2. Why does starlight have to go with the boys to a random mission. And after that break up. 3. This supes like starlight is going anywhere doing anything and we have to assume big companies like vought do nothing about it. 4. Butcher infiltrates the facility. But how? Wasn't that important enough to show the viewers rather than people travelling in a car and singing. The character arks, logics are all over the place. Very disappointed.
I am disappointed too. Like a lot of scenes that should have been impactful are handled poorly. Like butcher meeting his wife, people finding out about compond v.
I really do t like homelander , he is creepy af with that milk fam 🤣 and yeah yah said it, he a little kid, a bully through and through, can’t wait till he dies
Homelander steals EVERY scene he is in! Antony Starr needs to be nominated for an Emmy!
I'm so sad, he was coming to the Comic-Con near me in August but it got cancelled
@@nozser 2020 what a fucking year :(
Totally agree!! Antony Starr is incredible in every scene!
yvonne burden He’s genuinely terrifying. He’s one of the best actors on television today.

Dang, Mandalorian season 2 trailer AND a new video from Nerd Soup? This day is working out to be mighty fine.
I'd be Super interested in hearing the Nerd Soup thoughts on a scene by scene analysis of the trailer. There was a lot in there and this crew always deep dives just right.
Are the boys good or bad hero’s I can’t tell.
If Anthony Star is not nominated for an acting award I will be extremely disappointed.
The only issue I have with this review is that they didn't talk about how it was Frenchie who handed Grace Mallory's grandchildren to Lamp Lighter. It makes sense why he turned his life around to help The Boys defeat Vought in an attempt at redemption for those kids' deaths.
Oh wow, I missed that. When was that revealed?
I thought that Frenchie just let Lamplighter go instead of keeping him tied up/bounded and then he ended up torching the kids
Dave Lyon season 1 when mothers milk was with frenchie
This is either a comic spoiler or you have seriously misunderstood what happened
He never handed the kids to lamplighter and he was already with the boys when it happened. He was meant to be tailing lamplighter but went off mission and because of that Mallory’s grandkids died. I miss those GoT review days

Beau - “She seemed like a RIDE or die”
Thought that would go unnoticed huh? 😂
Popclaw is DEFINITELY "ride or die". ;) Or rather, "Ride AND die".
Ethan Wilkins LMFAO Definitely!
Been waiting on this one

literally just checked for this episode a few hours ago and was so sad it hadn’t been uploaded, now i’m hyped
Literally just finished listening to 1-3 review and was tweakin for this ep4 review to come out! Perfect timing!
I can see A-Train joining the boys or at least redeeming himself
He joins the collective with deep. You can see it in the trailers
zach creaghcoen yeah, but I’m thinking later in the series. I think he needs to find himself. I can’t wait to see what happens this season.
@@zachcreaghcoen2389 you only see him having a drink at a bar. I dont think A-train joins the collective
“She needs a Phil Jackson to mold her” 😆😆 hahaha
I did not like Frenchie last season but I am starting to warm up to him.
Have I mentioned that I wouldn't mind some more Umbrellas and Patrols in my Soup? :D
Every time Frenchy calls Kimiko "mon couer" I tear up. Frenchy ate mother's milk are two of the best guys

How you gonna go from episode one to four?
Great to see Nerd Soup getting quality reps in again
the 8 dislikes are from vought employees
. I think Black Noir will find Becca and do the things he did in the comic book I don't know but we'll see
When Huey said starlight can do the wavering thing and MM said “vibrato” I died laughing
I would have relations with Doppelganger if he made himself look like Amy Adams.
Michael Driggers evev if you know he's going to transform midway through?

Homelander makes every scene so uneasy. Can't watch any scene without the fear of him popping up around the corner

I thought cheerie was a friends with benefits with Frenchie
That was my impression as well. They don't have labels.
No strings attached
The real question is.. would butcher still love becca if she was a supe?
Finally, I love your reviews of The Boys
Cant believe you got that Audible sponsor 😂

In the comics they live a long time.
Yeah, Homelander ages slower in the comic.
Did anyone else think Billy was making out with Dopppeganger and the whole thing was a trick?

It feels that way because that’s exactly what happened
This review was better than the episode
Just like real life, taking passions and turning it into profit.
Notification Squad, Mount Up!
This episode's a step back? This episode is the best amongst those 3 prior this one.
