Just bought one! It’s amazing. Love the powerful engine on that thing! It’s like a sports car in an SUV.

Oh yeah - I don't have it anymore, but have not ruled out getting an Escape, since the Explorer turned out to be much too big for me.

I just brought home a 2018 sport today with 19k miles. Thanks for the video. I'm still learning the ins and outs. Trying to figure out voice commands. Best wishes

I have a 2018 explorer limited and its awesome....put it in reverse and press the plus button and it gives you a different camera angle for the hitch

The purpose of the 7/8+9/0 locking is that it will lock-out the handle unlocking. You can lock your key into the car and the doors will not open unless your code is entered into the pad - meaning you can't pull on the smart handle and it unlock automatically. If you lock the doors with the button on the handle or with the fob, it will not lock-out the handle. This is for people who want to lock their key in the car, say if they go to the beach or something and don't want to carry their keys around - Not that I would necessarily trust that someone wouldn't just break a window to get in and then drive away with the car.

Great video, I get annoyed when I walk out and the horn beeps as well, instead of a subtle beep. Sometimes our lift gate doesn’t work and we look like the karate kid sweeping our feet under. Other than that I love this car for my family, looks and drives beautifully

I just pickee up a Limited and I have found if you put a tow step on the back into your tow hitch, the liftgate wont work. But I use the tow step to protect the back when people try to bump you parking.

Use your thumb to cover both numbers and lock the car. It works for me every time.

    Great video,
We are currently looking at a used 18 limited explorer from Car Max.
Did you ever figure out how to stop the horn from honking when you get out of the car with the key fob?

To disable the double honk, Forscan has to be used.

Do you put premium gas on yours...?
I bought my platinum version and same motor but premium gas does better MPG on my.
Regular gas would just get sucked like water

When I had it I did, yeah. I was advised it was better for the turbos.

The horn honk is for safety. Say you pull into your garage, get our and unload groceries. Do to your busy life, you forget to shut the car off. Now you have a running car inside your closed garage which will emit enough carbon monoxide to cause harm or death very quickly.

Totally understand the safety aspect. Maybe if they had a way to make the horn honking less loud and obnoxious, that'd be nice but I totally understand why they have it set up that way.

I am a bit concerned about being able to lock and unlock the doors with just your hands. If you can do it so easily, so can thieves.......unless I got it wrong or didn't get the complete info there.

Thinking about getting one. one concern is the depreciation of approximately 18K in one year.

You’re probably close. I recently bought a certified 2016 Platinum. Sticker was still in glove compartment. Original retail was $55k. It’s in great condition and had 22k miles. Got it for $37.5k. But the value will hold well from this point in. I’ve always bought certified preowned. It just takes time and patience to find one.

@@martygufler2621, I was looking for a good used Explorer (XLT trim w/leather) but around my way all dealers are scams when it comes to used cars. 2016 models with 30k miles would say $24k-26k online but when you got there it was like $33k after hidden fees and taxes. I decided to go new. Got a great deal for the holiday on 2018 model Limited.
