FYI kids, these numbers vary widely by experience, qualifications and industry. Most PMs I know don’t make less than low six figures. Senior PMs make around $200K in some industries.
Hey Salvador, thanks for dropping the comment. You're right numbers vary from industry to industry. Biggest gains you see are in the Middle East for Oil & Gas or Construction projects (you're $200k comment). Low six figures are for senior PMs, to get there there is a long way .... and my short way. I feel the easiest roles to get into PM are the ones related to IT and construction for people who has the same background. When you don't have an IT or Construction background it seems almost impossible to get inserted. What are your thought on it ?
Hey Victor, thanks for your comment. I wouldn't actually agree ... here's why ... years ago sitting with a friend of mine (sales/marketing background) who was struggling to get a corp job at the time didn't know what to do anymore. He was a fairly new comer to Canada with some experience however jobs and fields he was applying for were just not producing anything for him. That very night in our heated conversation trying to calm him down I threw up an idea that I could make him a project manager in a few weeks. As wild as it sounded he started recording demos of me explaining him the whole industry, theory and practices behind it. Weeks later he started getting calls and got pretty good at it. Eventually he landed a PM role and never looked back. At that moment I realized I could put this thing all together for pretty much anyone. Well ... it took years to test it and go through many trials but it's solid as a rock now.
Point of the story is ... whoever is ready to become a serious project manager with guaranteed end result hop on the call below and let's get you running. I don't care about fancy talks or promises, I care about getting you to your goal.

Nick thank you for the video, I am just actually starting to look into this topic, as far as expansion. I have been a project manager from fiber construction to low voltage to federal level now for over 10 years. and I have not thought about any sort of career expansion.
Not sure where to go from here but I haven't been able to break through the 70 - 80k ceiling to be honest, really enthusiastic to do so as I am now in a crunch of course with cost of living.
I am nervous about the idea of breaking off and starting a business in this field independently, people want project management firms that are established from what I'm gathering or in house where they can save money on them.

Hey Nick. I’ve been interested in project management for a while, but I haven’t really started because I’m in the military & I’m moving to Spain soon. I’ve been offered to go to school to get my degree in PM. I’m 25 & it kind of has me nervous because I don’t want to start to late. Do you have any advice to how I can get some experience while I’m still in the military?
Thanks for watching Sebastian. Only advice I can give you is mentor with someone that has a lot of experience so you’ll actually know how to do the job. Project management is not law, medicine or a field where you need to go for a degree, it’s a waste of time amd money doing it that way. You don’t wanna spend 3-4 years right, that’s a lot of time not seeing any result especially at 25. All it takes is 8-12 weeks, worst case scenario 16! Over and over I see people making the same kind of mistakes, even going after certs. Bottom line is you need actual hands-on knowledge in this field if you want to jump into it period. I want to make the switch into PM, I was wondering if i would need to get my PMP or MBA, or should i just take courses such as Agile and Scrum Master to get into PM?
Great question ... Lots and lots of daily videos starting next week. To answer your question to make the transition into project management all you have to do is train with someone like myself and that's it. You're going to waste time going after certification etc., it's not worth it there is no tangible actual result. Hey Shohrab thanks so much for checking out the video. Depends what you're looking for. For project management I suggest training versus getting masters or degree in it as everyone is looking for you to jump in the game. How will you know what to do day 1 if you don't have some sort of mentorship or coaching, you understand my point?

You can also become an assistant pm for around 60-80k and move up from there. Better than paying out for someone to show you when you can just start off by making less for a month or two.
Beside project management consultant and IT, do suggest and share knowledge regarding project management and general management and operations management and how to switch from project managemeng to general management or operations management. Is an MBA in General Management or MBA Operations management necessary to make a switch or the portfolio( experience and/or one's performance in project management) enough to make a switch.
Yea idk where you got 30k from im currently doing a bachelor in construction project management and starting is like 75k-95k depending on where you are and what industry you are in , my friends 3 years in and he's doing 160k a year in the pipeline and oil field,
Hi Soul, well it depends where you live. This video is for global project management starting out. If you're getting 75k-95k as a junior project manager you've obviously found a gem (share with us). In oil and gas yes you can get to very high numbers as I've stated (Middle East, China etc. and some parts of US).

Yes project management profession is here to stay especially since everything in the future will rely on tech -> therefore someone needs to manage all these initiatives/tasks. I’ve been getting a lot of people lately wanting to switch careers into something future proof. I can tell you with confidence I’ve been successfuly practicing it for over 16 years (most of the time in digital and IT).
What’s your situation, are you just looking to get into University or switching careers?

Hey Varun, thanks for reaching out. Yes you can but typically you'll need 2-3 years of experience to learn the ropes in the filed. I would say Year 3 or 4 you can opt-in to transition into consulting. Hope that helps answer your question.

Hi Fakhir, hard to say but your Step 1 is learning actual PM knowledge and how to apply it. Step 2 is knowing how to write a resume and position yourself to actually get calls. Step 3 would be how to execute on interviews. It's going to be virtually impossible to do it by trial and erra ... you could try but you might be looking at months, years ... Best way => learn from someone that has done it and knows all of the steps.

I am studying in Supply Chain and minoring in Business Analytics. Should this be a great job to pursue for entry-level after graduation?
For sure however you’ll need training to jump into it. What I mean by training is hands-on mentorship style of training to know what to do day in and day out. As you’ve probably seen … left and right people are mentioning PMP, CSM certification, college/university courses … but the reality is that’s all theory which doesn’t actually show you what you’ll have to do at any point of time. Without knowing what to do step by step how are you suppose to manage a project or people?! So the key is to gain knowledge and hands on skills and also in the end how to get and interview and land that job.

Why do you start off by comparing a U.S. average pay individual with a Canadian Project Manager position? What about the average U.S. Project manager comparison?
Hi thanks for watching. I just picked that because I wanted to show the differences for North America. Those are very generous numbers I presented, on average starting salaries in North America are around 65K I would say. If we're talking specifically U.S. they can be a little higher, again depending in which State you reside.

#2. Prior education counts but unless you have actual USA companies on your resume very challenging

Hey Amith, depends what your goal is and personality. If you're a creator I would suggest Product otherwise if you love leading teams project management. Project management has much more consulting opportunities then product as well. Hope that helps :)

Why would you go after masters, that makes no sense? If you've already gone through a hands on experience like you mentioned what's stopping you from applying to jobs and moving forward?

@@susanjulius214 That's not going to help. You need PM training hands-on then start applying for work on elance/upwork etc. to get some experience. Easiest route is getting into Digital Marketing as a PM. Again the only way for something like this is getting proper training for how to do that -> hence my training -> projectmanagementrevolution.com. It's not a Udemy $30 course but an investment which is guaranteed, or we train you until you get to your goal. Time and time again people are asking the same questions and the answer is always you need a mentor. A great mentor cuts time 90% as well as it actually allows you to get a job in the industry. You can try by yourself but it's going to take years and I don't think most have that time. If you were hoping for a short video or step it's not the case like everything in life.

How effective is PMP certificate for work-from-home scenario? Especially when you are a foreigner to the company's base?
Well most north american and european companies don’t allow work from home. If you are referring to remote pm position 99% would not require pmp certificate because those companies will allow cross border work and therefore are not federal/public or government based entitites. In general PMP is a piece of paper which in today’s world is not worth much as most projects are hybrid (agile+waterfall or a twist)
Most companies today have no clue about their pm processes or having created complex ones which they do not use. Unless you are in a consulting agency consider most pm processes as useless and loose. Now many people will tell you that is not true and that’s because they want to justify their $1k for the test and time lost studying for the certificate. Even all the pm data out there and studies are all done by PMI which clearly shows biased/controlled state. Not sure why people don’t want to be true to themselves and admit this but it’s the reality. I would gladly challenge anyone in a Live discussion to prove this wrong.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I've been in this practice for 17 years (Search on LinkedIn and find out who I am) and running my coaching program for 4 years now with dozen of success stories. There is plenty of opportunity in this industry especially looking at the future.

The fact that u'r an introvert may be an obstecle in this career, cuz about 85% of your work will be interacting with people. But everything can be achieved if you want really bad.

Having a lawyer that can explain to you labour laws helps a lot. Don’t worry too much about these things since you’re just getting into the game. This comes in a few years, focus on gaining experience first, walk the walk.

Define pressurise … What I teach in my training addresses that … in another words the key to being a successful pm is by mastering yourself and mastering others. You have to learn personality mastery it’s essential.
Every job these days has pressure but it’s how you interpret it.
