Was ready to go get a DR 650 but when I learned about the Himalayan 450 I changed gears. Love the DR and the KLR but the Himalayan just suits my need better.
The Himalayan wasn't even on my radar but I stumbled on it and was very impressed with what I was seeing. I've got one on order from my local dealership and should have it just in time for winter storage 😂.
Curious about the engine at 85 miles an hour...that like 135 or so km...is it really pretty decent ? can it handle that for awhile ?? how I have to think it was working pretty hard ?
I was stunned and impressed with the bike’s capabilities above 75 mph. At 85, I still had power and rpm left. I think I hit like 92-93 at a point or two, and it felt like it had a little more. At 80-85, the engine was roaring, but it felt like it could sustain it. I would have never attempted that with the 411. I’m telling ya, this new Sherpa 450 engine is quite extraordinary.
Get rid of that ride by wire and put a cable back in ,if you are in the middle of no where and the ride by wire goes wrong your stuffed a cable you can fix ,besides that it’s a great bike all round ,jimmy Australia

Seat height would be a reason as well as road mannerisms of the 450 over the 300. Really depends on what you are using the bike for. Either one will do the job but there will always be trade offs.
If you travel to central asian countries, you are very likely to have to use 80 octane petrol which may well also be very dirty so you will need good fuel filters in the top of your tank to clean as much muck out as possible
Good watch. We spent a week on the 411 and now we are looking forward to a run on the 450. Thanks for the Vid.
Thanks, @nelsonriggusa! Let’s collaborate soon.
The tech stuff those engineers shared was really interesting!
@@lisabrooks1193 yeah, even how they began to conceive and develop a new improved one, even as the original was rolling out. Typical engineers, lol
I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for sharing it with us. 👍🏼👍🏼

@@johnsilvers5883 we’re pretty sure you’ll put it to some use before winter storage, 😆
@roaddirttv Hopefully I can get a few days to break her in. Hope you are going to do some future videos on the 450. I would love to see more.
Great stuff. Which color do you think shows off the bike at its best?
My favorite was the black with gold trim and rims. Just beautiful.
Cool bike, cool review.
I love them.. got a Hunter at the moment. Would I like one of these ... yes indeed
@@KevinofWessex we loved the Hunter too! Here’s our review and story of it-

@@straightup1234 thank you!
Yes, the Triumph Scrambler X is available in the USA.

Some beautiful off routes you got in Utah 👌👌
@@straightup1234 I actually live in Ga, but agreed, the roads and trails up there are amazing.
good review man!
I cannot wait to ride one of these suckers!
We enjoyed the first gen Himi 411, but we love this new bike!
Same
Same, I gotta compare this to the 450mt , both bikes are an insane value at their prices. Hope it encourages the big 4 Japanese brands to compete
Hope you get to ride the Guerrilla soon 👍
@@kyakaruvlogs2784 would definitely love that!

The Himalayan is good for adventure
Wait for some time Himalayan -650cc is coming soon.As it is testing on Indian highways.Soon it will be launched.
😋
Not before next year for sure, it's not coming anytime soon. Before it will come a classic 650.
Would love to get a ride on that!
Guerrilla -450 cc is coming is like scram bike.Already launched in India.
More than 24 different models of Royal Enfield will be launched in future with advance features and at affordable price.
It looks like the price for this is going to go up very quickly as demand gets higher.

Itchyboots rode this thing (new version) LONG ago.
@@bmepdoc9675 the only way she could’ve ridden it “long ago“, is if she was at the Indian launch last year.

You talk about junk fuel, do you mean that it would run on 85 octane gasoline without any problem?
You’d have to discuss that particular with your local RE rep.
11.5:1 ratio , I wouldn't go less than 87 and even that's crap .
If you travel to central asian countries, you are very likely to have to use 80 octane petrol which may well also be very dirty so you will need good fuel filters in the top of your tank to clean as much muck out as possible
11.5:1 is pretty high, not sure what dude was on about.
A 1300GS is still very hard to beat for two up cross country trips but solo? Himalayan 450 would be my steel horse!
