Excellent review. I've had mine 6 weeks and love it. I've actually downsized and should have done so long ago. Agree completely about the screen. Heated grips too in the UK.. It's a modern xt500 with everything on it you need to travel. Ride safe 👍
A lovely review…. I certainly don’t doubt its capabilities….. it’s a lot of motorbike for the money but it is happily carving its own niche…. I tested one in the north Wales mountains….. not the same where you rode to, but equally thrilling…. I love the fact this bike was born for big mountains anywhere around the world.. Thank you for your presentation. It was thorough, knowledgeable and Well presented…. For that, I subscribe., cheers John
Currently on a supersport 636 and somehow captivated by this bike just for touring what I normally would do on the 636. Great you covered just tarmac, there's a lot about off road already on YT.
9:10 that is not a clip from India. Weight also comes from center stand, rear rack, tank guards. BS3 Himalayan was infamous for chassis break so they have to beef it up. Still RE need to go some distance for reducing chassis weight. Sometimes the stereotype goes overboard.
I only have 800 miles on my Himalayan but the total mileage Trip 2 is 99.4 mpg = 35km per litre After the first service, 300 miles, Trip 1 reset, last 500 miles is 99.1 and I expect 90/95 could be the normal 32/33km per litre. Running in takes 1200 miles but now have 6000rpm which is better than the 4k limit befor first service. This has been a great purchase, so far, and in no way does it feel a 'downsize' from my 2nd bike, a BMWR1200RS. This was a better option when looking for an older XT500/KLR650/SP370 when they were just so expensive for forty year old bikes.
It is an adventure touring bike. You don’t have to go off-road and we all know that the Himalayan is more than capable if you do. This is a real world test, the sort of thing the majority of owners would like to do with their bikes. A more useful test might have been to use i5 a# a boring commuter or on a short trip to a cafe but that’s reality, riding in the alps is a dream for most people.
Great Answer i couldn't do better... we choose to go ONLY in tarmac because there are a lot of test only in off road. BUT we want to test if this bike is able to be a good traveller too.

I feel proud to see rave reviews on Him 450 as I am an Indian.
I like the way you ride the bike, sir, clean and smooth.

They can swap out the steel for plastic
Just found your channel- a great ride and a good review - I’ll be back!

Well done
A good travel/road review has been needed.
I want to buy one un the future , in the lowest spec just because I would like to put everything on it that Acerbis has developed 😅
9:05 that's sub-saharan africa
I think the highest pass is French. It's the Col de Iseran with 2770 meters. But the height doesn't matter. They are all awesome :)
I’m not sure what you meant about the ABS. I really can’t remember when the ABS last activated when I was riding a motorcycle on the road, if ever.
I have already two big bikes and now I am looking for much smaller. Still wondering triumph scrambler 400 or Him 450.
How is a review of an adventure bike only riding on tarmac a serious review?

Yes. I want to buy this bike and I was interested in a road review as I've seen many off road ones.
25km:litre doesn’t sound particularly impressive to me. My 500 routinely averages mid 30s.
Uphill ?
Seems wrong to me. My Himi 450 gets more like 36 - 40 depending on what I do.
