    Is the chin tuck look down exercise safe with 2 cervical fusions? I'm in unbearable pain but don't want to make it worse.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Epiphany, we're really sorry to hear about the excruciating pain that you've been experiencing! Given your situation with two cervical fusions, it's crucial to be cautious with exercises. The chin tuck look-down exercise in general is safe to do but it's best to consult with your healthcare provider or physical therapist before trying it.
      They can provide guidance tailored to your specific condition to ensure you don't exacerbate the pain. Your safety and well-being come first! 🙏
      Wishing you all the best on your road to recovery!

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Lesjamaluto, We are so sorry to see you are dealing with neck pain due to all-day computer work! Many of us in the office know exactly how you feel and we hope you feel better soon. Yes, these exercises can help quite a bit. We have a neck pain help playlist you might find helpful for your condition. You can access it here:
      “Neck Pain Help”
      th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mZRNE4rwpxvE_tM1na_9kAm.html
      Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not.
      We hope you found this information helpful to you. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Hagah, it is important to make sure that the chin is tucked. The best way is to look in the mirror and make sure you are giving yourself a double-chin.

    Are these exercises good for a pinched nerve?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Jennifer, yes they can also help but it's very important to keep movements and the intensity low. If you feel any pain, move gently out of the move and rest.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Moshmorok! Remember: it's important to start small! Don't go 100% if you feel any sort of pain. Also, feeling a stretch on the back of your neck is pretty normal since these muscles stretch as you tuck your chin. Try backing off to 50-70% and see how it goes! All the best
